Development of Semi-automatic Construction Tool for Named Entity Dictionary based on Active Learning (능동 학습 기법을 활용한 개체명 사전 반자동 구축 도구 개발)

  • Along with advent of Web 3.0 era and advanced technologies of IoT(Internet of Things), massive amounts of information are generated. Reflecting this trend, this paper developed a semi-automatic construction tool for named entity dictionary based on active learning. Our proposed method chose error candidates to verify among the preliminary results using initial trained model and re-trained the model for correctly labeled data by user. We adopt active learning approach for minimizing human effort utilized metadata features of Wikipedia. Based on experimental results using our tool, we show that 68.6% errors were automatically corrected.

  • With Internet of Things (IoT) technology, home environment becomes smarter than ever. Not only smart devices such as smart phone or smart TV, but also various IoT devices including sensor, smart thermostat, and smart scale has now become very common on the market. These devices have connectivity to the Internet, so that user can read data from the device or control the device using Internet technology. However, due to diversity of smart home requirements, device collaboration in smart home remains a challenging task still. Usually smart home is built with various technologies to fulfill its own purpose, and these purposes cover very wide area from controlling low-power sensor devices to controlling high-performance devices like smart TV and smart phone. This variety of smart home requirements makes smart home very complicated due to mixed network architecture, protocol and technology. In this paper, a framework to enable managing and collaborating heterogeneous IoT devices in smart home environment is proposed. Several programming models are defined in the proposed framework to make application development for heterogeneous devices more intuitive. The proposed framework has been implemented as a web service, and a case study with real-world smart home IoT devices is presented.

  • With rapid development of information and communication technologies, open collaboration can be eased through the Internet. Open source software, as a representative area of open collaboration, is developed and adopted to various fields. In this research, based on organizational learning theory, we examine the impacts of exploration and exploitation on innovation performance in open source software development projects. We define knowledge exploration as a number of developers from outside organization and knowledge exploitation as the ratio of member of an organization who participated in an open source software project managed by the organization. For analysis, we collect data of 4794 projects from github which is a representative open source software development platform using Web crawler developed by Python. As a result, we find that excessive exploration has curvilinear (invers U-shape) relationship on project performance. On the other hand, exploitation with enough external developers will positively impact on project performance.

  • Recently, Web has arisen large amount of data that to the development of the network and the Internet. In order to process it appeared that Big Data technology. Big Data technologies have been studied aiming a multifaceted and accurate analysis using existing regular data and a variety of data social data. But social data does not have the expertise and objectivity. And such manipulation and concealment and distortion of information have been raised troubling. Thus, this paper proposes for trust big data platform and will be described in detail. The big data platform proposed in this paper consists of data refiner, Data Analyzer, co-truster, visualizer, searcher, etc.

  • Mobile network evolution and development of USN technologies introduce new business model based on context awareness. Cellular operators provide friend finding service using cell based location information and telematics service using GPS location information. Recently cellular operators provide yellow page service based cell based location information. In this paper, we develop mobile tour application on WIPI platform based on location information. Mobile tour information services provide the best information based on context awareness using user location information from LBSP (Location Based Service Platform), season, weather conditions, time from Web server, and personal preference information stored in database. Mobile tour information service application is developed on WIPI platform.

  • The advent of new technologies and descriptive tools, including the Web, XML, and EAD, have highlighted the necessity of content standard which can integrate and manage to library materials and archives and accommodate various finding aids for information exchange. This research analyzes both APPM2 and DACS. The former is an old established description rule. On the other hand, the latter keeps step with ISAD(G) and ISAAR(CPF) as adopting the international trend of archives and is able to describe the data structure of a variety of finding aids including MARC, EAD, etc. As a result, it presents the points to take into consideration as making descriptive rules about our archives.

  • According to the appearance of various virtual websites using multimedia technologies for engineering education, the internet applications in engineering education have drawn much interests. But unidirectional communication, simple text/image based webpages and tedious learning process without motivation etc. have made the lowering of educational efficiency in cyberspace. Thus, to cope with these difficulties this paper presents a web-based educational Flash movies based on ActionScript language for understanding the principles of the computer system architecture. The proposed Flash movies provides the improved learning methods which can enhance the interests of learners. The results of this paper can be widely used to improve the efficiency of cyberlectures in the cyber university. Several sample Flash movies are illustrated to show the validity of the proposed learning method.

  • In the beginning of the Web history, the main function and importance of the Internet was focused on the content of the data. However, that focus has been switched to the search engines because of the abundant, humongous amount of data that are spread all over the globe. The Webmasters are now implying flasy, beautiful graphics and newly developed technologies to make their websites attract the Internet users. The significant change was mainly caused by the companies that thought cyber shopping malls were going to be very simple and profitable. They believed that the decreasing prices of hardware and easy-to-use software were going to attract the potential customers, resulting in a new, massive market. A website needs to be extremely captivating and attractive, in order to bring in new customers and induce them to return. The Webmaster has to devise methods to find out what kinds of contents would bring in a bigger audience, as well as checking the validity and correctness of the contents. In the thesis, the necessity and concept of a personalized Internet shopping mall will be discussed through the theoretical examination of the one-to-one marketing and the concept of the current shopping malls. The scheme of the personalized shopping mall will be presented, which will encourage the formation of loyal customers, in the ever-growing competitiveness of the marketing environment, by satisfying their wants faster and more precisely.

  • In the case of international trade, the role of 3PL (third-party logistics) providers, in recent years, has drawn more attention. At the same time, computers have become faster, cheaper, and more widely available. Thus. information systems have become commonplace to freight forwarders and the increased efficiencies to be gained in improving logistics has pushed managers to explorer a number of new ideas, technologies and methods of information management and automation. However, many companies are encountering difficulties to choose an information system flexible and satisfying all needs carrying on business. In this study RIA (rich internet application) technology based on Java Swing was introduced to the .freight forwarder information systems to provide richer user interfaces and a flexible web-based application. Also considered giving stakeholders in charge of logistics especially in SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) cost-effective and performance-effective solutions with good accessibility of internet for smooth operations of their businesses.

Trends in Recent Studies on Post-Harvest Technology

  • Purpose: This article summarizes the trends in recent research publications in relation to post-harvest technology for drying, storage, and quality, between 2005 and 2015. Methods: As of S eptember 7, 2015, a s earch query using two keywords, drying and agriculture, on the Web of Science (Registered trademark of Thomson Reuters) resulted in 3749 articles that were published between 2005 and 2015. However, the review was restricted to research articles published in the journals Transactions of the ASABE (American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers) and Biosystems Engineering: Journal of European Agricultural Engineering. Results: The total number of articles in the two journals related to drying, storage, and quality was 500, 319, and 885, respectively. The number of articles related to drying, storage, and quality was 250, 177, and 250, respectively, in Transactions of the ASABE. The number of articles related to drying, storage, and quality was 250, 142, and 283, respectively, in Biosystems Engineering. Conclusions: A shift in research focus from drying and storage to quality in Transactions of the ASABE might reflect a shift toward quality-conscious consumers. It seems that ASABE members are more focused on articles related to post-harvest technologies on quality than their European counterparts. Articles were cited based on their abstract content.
