  • We have designed data processing server system to include data archiving, photometric processing and light curve analysis for KMTNet (Korea Microlensing Telescope Network). Outputs of each process are reported to the main photometric database, which manages the whole processing steps and archives the photometric results. The database is developed using ORACLE 11g Release 2 engine. It allows to select objects applying any set of criteria such as RA/DEC coordinate and Star ID, etc. We tested the performance of the database using the OGLE photometric data. The searching time for querying 70,000,000 records was under 1 second. The database is fully accessed using query forms via web page.

  • In a field of oriental medicine, it is necessary to collect systemically clinical data and integrate. Input data items was decided, then categorized by the modules through discussion of the institute and hospitals. Items are information of patient, history, aspects of occurrence, pattern identification, prescriptions of herbal medicine, the results of biochemical serum examination, blood cell count, urine analysis, CT, MRI, Chest PA, EKG etc. Factors in oriental medicine are Sasang constitution, Stroke-Pattern-Identification(china), differentiation of cold and heat syndrome. This tool was constructed by using Microsoft-Access 2000 and Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0. Furthermore this web-based system could be applied to multi-center clinical investigation.

  • BOM(Bill of Materials) is a listing or description of raw materials, parts, and assemblies that define a product. In order to evaluate the performance of proposed BOM management system, which is very important to maintenance information system of urban transit. We develop component based BOM data and rule-set to design data structure that is mutually independent and integrated efficiently. It divides data whit management interface using component technology. The component based master BOM have advantage in database size and flexibility. Flexibility is measured as the number of updating records in accordance with added new product or engineering change. In database size, component based BOM is the best. we develop master BOM management system in web environment.

  • The information protection security diagnosis institution was applied services since 2004, for the leveling up of public information protection and the establishment of the stability and reliability of information communication. And this security diagnosis was implemented actually on the 142 firms in 2005, the 160 firms in 2006 and the 205 firms in 2007. But this is recognized by the some firms as one of the unnecessary regulations. And there are some difficulties with collecting the subjective and reliable source data for establishing the information protection security diagnosis target. In this research, the enhanced model on the selection of information protection security diagnosis target firms was suggested by the interview with some expert and the analysis for the related actual data. By the model which are introduced from the statistical analysis of the related data and the summary of some expert's suggestions, information protection security diagnosis target can include the information telecommunication service providers taking 5 billion won as sales in a year, and web service providers like as shopping mall site, with the personal records of 2 million subscribers.

  • Engineering or humanities data are stored in databases and are often used for search services. While the latest deep-learning technologies, such like BART and BERT, are utilized for data analysis, humanities data still rely on traditional databases. Representative analysis methods include n-gram and lexical statistical extraction. However, when using a database, performance limitation is often imposed on the result calculations. This study presents an experimental process using MariaDB on a PC, which is easily accessible in a laboratory, to analyze the impact of the database on data analysis performance. The findings highlight the fact that the database becomes a bottleneck when analyzing large-scale text data, particularly over hundreds of thousands of records. To address this issue, a method was proposed to provide real-time humanities data analysis web services by leveraging the open source database, with a focus on the Seungjeongwon-Ilgy, one of the largest datasets in the humanities fields.

  • 웹은 급속하게 변화하는 현대사회에서 정부와 시민들의 주요 의사소통의 채널이 되고 있다. 웹에서 유통되는 정보량이 급증하면서 정보원으로서의 웹에 대한 의존도가 크게 높아졌을 뿐만 아니라 전적으로 웹에만 존재하는 정보자원도 증가하고 있다. 중요한 가치를 지닌 웹사이트는 짧은 수명주기와 수집, 보존, 활용에 대한 방안이 없어 소멸되고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 웹 기록물 아카이빙을 위한 기반기술로 워크플로우 및 메타데이터 정의가 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 웹 기록물을 아카이빙하기 위해 선별, 수집, 품질관리 및 목록화, 보존, 저장으로 구성되는 워크플로우 및 장기 보존과 검색에 필수적인 메타데이터를 정의하였다. 이러한 연구 개발 및 적용을 통해 사라져 가는 중요한 자원인 웹 기록물을 후대에 중요한 기록물 자원으로 저장 및 관리할 수 있게 될 것이다.

Authority Control in the Digital Age: A Study of japanese Journal Titles and Corporate Names in the OPACs in Korea (디지털 정보시대의 전거통제 (II): 국내 목록 데이터 베이스의 일본 학술지명과 단체명 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how the titles and corporate names of Japanese scholarly journals are treated, and how well the authority control is implemented to assist the access with various names and forms of names to the OPACS. Without the help of either references or internal links among those names and forms of names in the DBs, users are likely to fail in getting the right results. In this study, the cataloging records for serials from the National Assembly Library, KISTI, Yonsei University and the KERIS were examined, and the comparison was made with the records from the NACIS-WebCat of the National Institute of Informatics in Japan. Major findings include (1) the lack of consistency in applying cataloging rules, (2) the lack of proper authority control in treating corporate names, and (3) the lack of references or links among names and variant forms of names. The overall improvement of cataloging practices and application of authority control is strongly recommended for enabling users to access better to those DBs of interest.

  • The billing techniques to support multiple services in an ATM based broadband access network have been rarely developed. In fact, the management techniques including accounting management have only focused on a single service environment such as PSTN thus far. In this paper, we present an accounting management system, called rtFAMS, designed and implemented to provide multiple Value Added Service Providers (VASPS) the charging records for the multiple services in a broadband access network. The architecture is based on OSI system management infrastructure and TMN Q3 interface to acquire accounting information from agents in the ATM cross-connecters as well as to process the billing mechanisms in the manager. This system Is designed to actively adopt the rapidly changing service environments and B-ISDN network management techniques. It also provides real-time accounting information to users using Web in addition to supplying the billing records to VASPs.

  • As the concept of web characteristics represented by openness and mind sharing grows more and more popular, device log data generated by both users and developers have become increasingly complicated. For such reasons, a log data processing mechanism that automatically produces meaningful data set from large amount of log records have become necessary for mobile device UX(User eXperience) analysis. In this paper, we define the attributes of to-be-analyzed log data that reflect the characteristics of a mobile device and collect real log data from mobile device users. Along with the MapReduce programming paradigm in Hadoop platform, we have performed a mobile device User eXperience analysis in a distributed processing environment using the collected real log data. We have then demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed analysis mechanism by applying the various combinations of Map and Reduce steps to produce a simple data schema from the large amount of complex log records.

Developing a Public Services Framework for the Regional Archives in Korea (지방기록물관리기관을 위한 이용자서비스 모형 개발에 관한 연구)

  • To develop a public services framework for the promotion of the public records use of the regional archives in Korea, we analyzed the previous related studies and observed the public services of the renowned overseas regional archives through the we sites. Then, the web 2.0 technology and its application to archives services have been studied. Based on the analysis, a public services framework consisting of 4 phases such as basic services, extended services I, extended services II, interactive services was developed. This framework of 4 phases is not a fixed universal system. Each of the regional archives would select the services they offer according to the budget, personnel, as well as the user community. Finally, community survey, user satisfaction evaluation, and the establishment of specific service guidelines are suggested for the advancement of the public services.
