  • We will introduce a new web-based knowledge management system in progress, in which XML-based web information extraction and our structuring knowledge technologies are combined using ontology-based natural language processing. Our aim is to provide efficient access to heterogeneous information on the web, enabling users to use a wide range of textual and non textual resources, such as newspapers and databases, effortlessly to accelerate knowledge acquisition from such knowledge sources. In order to achieve the efficient knowledge management, we propose at first an XML-based Web information extraction which contains a sophisticated control language to extract data from Web pages. With using standard XML Technologies in the system, our approach can make extracting information easy because of a) detaching rules from processing, b) restricting target for processing, c) Interactive operations for developing extracting rules. Then we propose a structuring knowledge system which includes, 1) automatic term recognition, 2) domain oriented automatic term clustering, 3) similarity-based document retrieval, 4) real-time document clustering, and 5) visualization. The system supports integrating different types of databases (textual and non textual) and retrieving different types of information simultaneously. Through further explanation to the specification and the implementation technique of the system, we will demonstrate how the system can accelerate knowledge acquisition on the Web even for novice users of the field.

  • World Wide Web is nearly ubiquitous and the tremendous growing number of Web information strongly requires a structuring framework by which an overview visualization of Web sites has provided as a visual surrogate for the users. We have a viewpoint that the Web site is a directed graph with nodes and arcs where the nodes correspond to Web pages and the arcs correspond to hypertext links between the Web pages. In dealing with the WWW, the goal in this paper is not to derive a naive shortest path or a fast access method, but to generate an optimal structure based on the context centric weight. We modeled a Web site formally so that a integer programming model can be formulated. Even if changes such as modification of the query terms, the optimized Web site structure can be maintained in terms of sensitivity.

  • The explosively growing attractiveness of the Web is commencing significant demands for a structuring analysis on various web objects. The larger the substantial number of web objects are available, the more difficult for the clients(i.e. common web users and web robots) and the servers(i.e. Web search engine) to retrieve what they really want. We have in mind focusing on the structure of web objects by introducing optimization models for more convenient and effective information retrieval. For this purpose, we represent web objects and hyperlinks as a directed graph from which the optimal structures are derived in terms of rooted directed spanning trees and Top-k trees. Computational experiments are executed for synthetic data as well as for real web sites' domains so that the Lagrangian Relaxation approaches have exploited the Top-k trees and Hop constraint resolutions. In the experiments, our methods outperformed the conventional approaches so that the complex web graph can successfully be converted into optimal-structured ones within a reasonable amount of computation time.

  • We evaluated structured web site contents construct method. The method for construction web contents was considered. The construction procedure is as follows. Elicit "user requirement" and the web management side needs. Mark a check where each line and row corresponds to clarify the relation between both in the matrix by which user requirements and the purposes are arranged in lines and rows. To understand the systematic feature of the web site itself, "grasping information" and "structuring" are necessary. We actually constructed web site contents of a theatrical company using this method. and we got the construction of existing web site contents of another theatrical company. We compared our constructed web site contents with the existing web site contents. Finally, we evaluated this method and testified that this method is useful.

  • The main topic of this paper is how to structure information so that the view of the web, both within and across web pages, is dynamically customizable. We present an architecture that integrates Object-Oriented Databases with the World Wide Web to organize such dynamic structures. Different non, or the same user at different times, could have different views of the web. We discuss several architectural variants and implementation issues. Our chosen architecture provides high flexibility for a wide variety of applications, ranging from software development environments to the IO-web system.

  • With the development and invention of computer and internet, GIS (Geographic Information System) has provided diverse services to users. Web 2.0, the next generation web, has been developed to create a new business by accumulating and structuring information from many users. The characteristics of Web 2.0 are blog, longtail distribution, SNS, DCC, collective intelligence, and so on. This study proposes a GIS 2.0 service model to maximize the introduction effect and use of GIS by the method that two-way communication and the participation of consumer, characteristics of Web 2.0, are used to build more practical GIS rather than providing spatial information in one-way and simple inquiry oriented way.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the technical possibilities and advantages of web GIS system, and its practical implementation for space management and information service accessible from anywhere. at anytime using ArcIMS on behalf of university facility management. It is found that the integration of GIS and web technology, in terms of its administrative and public service capabilities, carries many advantages in the aspects of time, cost, and effort saving. Finally, practical system architecture is proposed with its database structuring method for space management of university facility.

  • The organization of the web is progressively more being used to improve search and analysis of information on the web as a large collection of heterogeneous documents. Most people begin at a Web search engine to find information. but the user's pertinent search results are often greatly diluted by irrelevant data or sometimes appear on target but still mislead the user in an unwanted direction. One of the intentional, sometimes vicious manipulations of Web databases is a intentionally biased web page like Google bombing that is based on the PageRank algorithm. one of many Web structuring techniques. In this thesis, we regard the World Wide Web as a directed labeled graph that Web pages represent nodes and link edges. In the Present work, we define the label of an edge as having a link context and a similarity measure between link context and target page. With this similarity, we can modify the transition matrix of the PageRank algorithm. By suggesting a motivating example, it is explained how our proposed algorithm can filter the Web intentionally biased web Pages effective about $60\%% rather than the conventional PageRank.

  • The World Wide Web has become an entrenched global medium for storing and searching information. Most people begin at a Web search engine to find information, but the user's pertinent search results are often greatly diluted by irrelevant data or sometimes appear on target but still mislead the user in an unwanted direction. One of the intentional, sometimes vicious manipulations of Web databases is Web spamming as Google bombing that is based on the PageRank algorithm, one of the most famous Web structuring techniques. In this paper, we regard the Web as a directed labeled graph that Web pages represent nodes and the corresponding hyperlinks edges. In the present work, we define the label of an edge as having a link context and a similarity measure between link context and the target page. With this similarity, we can modify the transition matrix of the PageRank algorithm. A motivating example is investigated in terms of the Singular Value Decomposition with which our algorithm can outperform to filter the Web spamming pages effectively.

  • This study describes the semantic theoretic interpretation through the extensive use of semantic metaphors for intensive web interface with information and the metaphoric value of metaphors for interface design. Common factors that influence web design are empirical establishment and verification for generating web symbols and these are have important elemental perspectives that are used to assess the usefulness and key elements of the site. In addition, the structure of the screen has begun to change dynamically from the application of web technological functions, and the media functions have become important to make web standards when implementing visual structuring from the perspective of semiotic. Instead of using a technical expression approach to examine semiotic, a semiotic approach is applied to create aesthetic codes through the human-computer interface in terms of semiotic in a variety of natural and universal fields. Based on this, it is used as means of communication to convey the intended meaning to users so as to highlight the importance of the usability issues and metaphors user interface.
