Evaluation of Visual Perception in Smoking Cessation Websites and Construction of Antismoking Website

  • Tobacco use is the most readily preventable cause of premature death; it is a worldwide problem, with a significant impact on heath and well-being. In order to design an effective tobacco education program, it is important to understand smoking patterns and the underlying factors associated with smoking in different generations such as adults or young people. Despite a general decline in the prevalence of regular smoking among adults, recent surveys commissioned by the Ministry Heath & Welfare for the Republic of Korea have shown no evidence of any decline in smoking rates among young women and adolescents. The Republic of Korea has the highest adult male smoking percentage (65.1%) in the world and smoking in adolescents is still an increasing trend. Smoking in adolescents and young women is especially more dangerous, thus health education of anti-smoking directed at these groups is an important area that will benefit from using internet content that they can easily access. The purpose of this study is the evaluation of visual perception and effectiveness analysis in smoking cessation websites in promoting smoking cessation in adolescents and young women through Internet content. As a result of this project, at first we evaluated the Internet content of cyber smoking cessation programs by the evaluation criteria of web design interface. The Internet site of http://nosmokeguide.or.kr received the most superior evaluation in the domestic Internet content for smoking cessation and the Internet site of the National Center for Tobacco-Free Kids received the most superior evaluation in the foreign Internet content for smoking cessation. This evaluation was surveyed by an expert in Internet content and user. Secondly, we developed the Internet content for cyber smoking cessation program, namely, "Dr. Smoking" that contained several menus and a database regarding anti-smoking designed in accordance with the results of this evaluation. The domain address of Dr. Smoking is http://www.dmosmoking.com and our webpage has assorted kinds of news, information, self-diagnosis, prescription, consulting, a no-smoking mall etc. In conclusion, this project is designed to develop Internet content for the most effective smoking cessation program and to contribute to eliminating smoking from our society. We also will try to develop and upgrade this web-site in order to help a smoker who want to quit smoking and diminish the physical and socioeconomic harm from smoking.m smoking.

매일 흡연하는 여고생의 흡연양상, 건강행태 및 가족특성 : 청소년건강행태온라인조사 활용을 통한 융복합 연구 (Daily Smoking Girls' Tobacco Use, Health Behaviors and Family Factors : Analysis of 2015 Korean Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey)

  • 본 연구는 국가 기반 데이터를 활용하여 한국 여자 고등학생의 흡연양상, 건강행태 및 가족특성을 탐색하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 연구설계는 2015년 실시된 11차 청소년건강행태온라인조사의 원시자료를 활용한 서술적 관계 조사연구이다. 연구대상자는 여자 고등학생 2,006명이며, SPSS 23.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 여자 고등학생의 27.5%가 현재 흡연자이며, 30일 이내 흡연 경험이 있는 여고생은 752명(37.5%)이었다. 흡연일수를 기준으로 매일 흡연하는 여고생은 385명(19.2%), 간헐적으로 흡연하는 여고생은 367명(18.3%)으로 분석되었다. 또한 다항 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과, 매일 흡연하는 여고생의 예측요인은 모성의 흡연 여부, 시설거주 여부, 주관적 학업성취도, 주관적인 가정의 경제수준으로 확인되었다. 본 연구를 통해 도출된 결과는 여학생 흡연의 예방 및 관리를 위한 정책 마련 및 교육프로그램 개발을 위해 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Using Focus Groups to Assess Nutrition Education Needs for Pregnant and Lactating Women in Korea

  • Although nutrition education for pregnant women is important, few such programs have been carefully examined from the participants' perspective in Korea. Focus groups were used to identify 1) perceived eating behaviors during pregnancy and lactation, 2) factors associated with healthy eating behaviors, and 3) needs for nutrition education programs. Using a trained moderator, we conducted 7 focus group interviews with 44 pregnant women over a four-month period. Focus group discussions were video - and audio - taped, transcribed and categorized by major themes. Participants expressed interest in receiving nutrition education regarding healthy eating, weight control after delivery, weaning foods and health management, yet they showed little interest in breastfeeding. The majority of them said that meal balance and meal regularity were the most important components of good health during pregnancy. They were less likely to be confident about taking dietary supplements, including Oriental medicines. life stress and poor appetite associated with pregnancy were major barriers to healthy eating habits during pregnancy. The most important sources of nutrition and health information were friends and family members, especially those who had become pregnant recently. Qualified educators and reliable information appeared to be the most important aspects of program development. Regarding types of nutrition education, participants tended to prefer a combination of individual counseling and small group education with hands-on materials and interactive formats. The use of Web-based nutrition education was well received Major concerns about Web-based nutrition education were authenticity, tailored messages and interactive formats for sharing information. These results offer useful information for designing nutrition education programs for pregnant and lactating women in Korea for health promotion.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the present conditions and problems of the Electronic Commerce, specially by the fashion companies that utilize the Internet and to propose using plans of Internet Electronic Commerce as a strategic method of fashion companies that have a information-oriented mind to adapt itself to modern century. On the basis of my analysis, I propose some using plans of Internet Electronic Commerce by the fashion companies as follows. As a means of construction method, it is need for the pertinent companies to have an information-oriented mind and then to construct the low-expense but high-speed communication Infrastructure. As an operation and management method, positive web site advertisements plans, such as promotion, using various mass media, subscribing to the Internet search engines and dissemination of products information, etc., are need for companies to attract the consumers to connect to the web site. Second, to offer more satisfactory experiences, it is need for companies to frame the integrated shopping mall as a strategic alliance in the management of shopping mall. To frame the integrated shopping mall is also effective in solving financial problems of shopping mall management and introducing of security system As a means of technology supplement, security management systems, such as SSL or SET, should be introduced for consumers to pay the price and furnish their personal informations. Second, new technology developments, such as the newest simulation programs using Virtual Reality to solve the problem of products' actual feeling, should be need for consumers to feel as they really put clothes on. If these technological developments are realized, fashionable products will be dealt in the Internet shopping mall as well and the marketability of Internet shopping mall will be expanded.

What Do Web Users Know about Skin Self-Examination and Melanoma Symptoms?

  • Background: Skin self-examination (SSE) may facilitate early diagnosis of melanoma at a potentially curable stage. Little data are available concerning the SSE frequency and knowledge about the symptoms of melanoma in non-patient populations. The aim of our study was to assess the performance of skin self-examination, recognition of potential melanoma symptoms as well as behavior related to sun exposure among web users in Poland. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among readers of a scientific portal. Invited respondents were asked to complete an online questionnaire. Finally, statistical analysis was conducted on 4,919 surveys towards potential clinical signs of melanoma and SSE performance. Results: Approximately 60% of respondents had ever performed SSE in their life. Only 18.4 % declared performance on a regular, monthly, basis. Factors promoting this activity were established to be bigger place of residence, higher education and sensitive skin phototype, higher level of knowledge concerning melanoma, safe tanning rules and, especially, past surgical excision of naevi. Declared longer use of tanning beds was linked to understanding better the importance of clinical features of melanoma. Awareness of hazardous behavior during sunbathing is associated with the attempts to change them. Conclusions: Regular SSE is not a common practice, whilst the knowledge about the clinical features of melanoma is varied. Therefore, constant pressure should be put on promotion of regular skin self-examination and teaching its proper techniques, including familiarity with the ABCD (asymmetry; border; color; diameter) rule and its extension of "EFG" (elevated, firm, progressive growth) criteria.

  • 인터넷의 급속한 보급 및 확산은 국제무역에 있어 일대 혁신을 초래하고 있으며, 특히 해외시장조사, 해외홍보 및 마케팅, 거래선 발굴, 신용조사, 거래협상 등 계약체결까지 거래경로를 시간적 제약 및 공간적 제약 없이 신속하고, 정확하며, 적은 비용으로 글로벌 비즈니스를 수행할 수 있는 토대가 되고 있다. 본 연구는 비용절감, 시장업무 프로세스 혁신, 업무처리개선, 외부요구, 내부요청 등과 같은 주요 전자무역의 동기요인이 e-mail, 웹 서비스, EDI, Internet-EDI와 같은 전자무역을 위한 정보기술의 활용수준에 영향을 미치고 궁극적으로 국내 수출기업들의 기업성과 향상에 영향을 미친다는 것을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 또 본 연구는 동기요인이외에 기업이 인터넷을 통한 전자무역의 활용에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 환경요인, 기업특성 요인 및 산업특성 요인들을 함께 분석하였다. 실증분석 결과, 본 연구에서 제시한 요인들이 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다.

웹기반 건강증진교육 참여 후 자가분석에 나타난 대학생의 건강관련 생활습관 실재: 질적내용분석 (Self-reported Realities of Health Behavior of Undergraduate Students After Web-based Health Promotion Education: Qualitative Content Analysis)

  • Purpose: This study was aimed to evaluate the changes of health behaviors and concepts via self-reflection after health education with 6 videotapes for undergraduate students. Method: After the first semester in 2011, we collected the data for evaluating their own health-related life-style. Using qualitative content method, the data were analyzed. Result: Thirty-nine students participated in this study. Average age was 22.7 years, and 27 were male. Thirty-seven students replied unhealthy diet pattern; irregular meal time and binge. Four themes and 11 subjects emerged. The four themes were new perception for health and illness, evaluation of own health state, checking for health-related lifestyle, and trying to change for a healthy life pattern. The eleven subjects were chance to change their health habits, new perception about illness experience with family, uncertainty about upcoming health, worry about disease occurring, grasp the facts of unhealthy diet pattern, less exercise, growing stress, high-pressure drinking culture in the university, increasing concern for a healthy life, trying to change lifestyle, and difficulty in changing lifestyle. Conclusion: From the results of this study, we concluded that self-reflection on the health behaviors after health education with videotapes could reinforce to change health behaviors and concepts for undergraduate students.

어머니 출생국가가 다문화 청소년의 인플루엔자 예방접종에 미치는 영향: 제13차(2017년) 청소년 건강행태 온라인조사 자료 분석 (The Influence of Mothers' Native Country on Multicultural Adolescents' Seasonal Influenza Vaccinations in Multicultural Adolescents Using Data from the 13th (2017) Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of the mothers' native country on influenza vaccinations in adolescents in multicultural families. Methods: Data were gathered from the 13th (2017) Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey. Logistic regression analyses were conducted using a complex sample data analysis method. The participants in this study had a father who was born in Korea and a mother born outside of Korea. The sample included 481 adolescents. Results: The analysis of non-adjusted confounding variables showed that influenza vaccination was higher in multicultural adolescents whose mother's native country had an annual minimum temperature less than $21^{\circ}C$ (odds ratio [OR]: 1.81, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.20~2.74). Furthermore, when the analysis was adjusted for confounding variables, an annual minimum temperature less than $21^{\circ}C$ in the mother's native country had a statistically significant association with influenza vaccination (OR: 2.12, 95% CI: 1.36~3.29). Conclusion: Multicultural adolescents belong to a socioeconomically vulnerable class, and their health promotion behaviors are influenced by their mothers' culture. Thus, healthcare providers and school nurses should provide adolescents with appropriate information related to influenza vaccination depending on their mothers' culture and their family's cultural background.

eCRM 기능이 고객의 웹사이트 방문과 구매에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of eCRM Features on Website Visit and Purchase)

  • 본 연구는 eCRM 솔루션의 기능이 고객의 사이트 방문과 구매에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 먼저 국내외 eCRM 솔루션을 조사한 결과, e-marketing에 속하는 캠페인 / 이벤트 마케팅, 전자우편 마케팅, 설문조사 마케팅 기능과 e-sales에 속하는 추천, 인센티브 / 할인 촉진 기능, 그리고 e-service에 속하는 전자우편 콜센터, 웹 콜센터 기능이 포함되어 있음을 파악하였다. 온라인 설문조사를 통해 수집된 146부의 자료를 분석한 결과, 캠페인 / 이벤트 마케팅, 전자우편 마케팅, 전자우편 콜센터, 웹 콜센터 기능의 경험 정도는 고객의 사이트 '방문'에 유의적인 영향을 미쳤다. 또한, 전자우편 마케팅을 제외한 캠페인 / 이벤트 마케팅, 설문조사 마케팅, 추천, 인센티브 / 할인 촉진, 전자우편 콜센터, 웹 콜센터 기능의 경험 정도는 고객의 '구매'에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 eCRM 기능들은 고객의 사이트 '방문'에는 효과가 있었지만 '구매'에는 효과가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과들은 우리나라 eCRM이 고객성향에 대한 철저한 분석을 통해 실제 구매행동을 유발할 수 있도록 개발되고 구현되어야 함을 시사하고 있다.

Process Evaluation of a Mobile Weight Loss Intervention for Truck Drivers

  • Background: In a cluster-randomized trial, the Safety and Health Involvement For Truck drivers intervention produced statistically significant and medically meaningful weight loss at 6 months (-3.31 kg between-group difference). The current manuscript evaluates the relative impact of intervention components on study outcomes among participants in the intervention condition who reported for a post-intervention health assessment (n = 134) to encourage the adoption of effective tactics and inform future replications, tailoring, and enhancements. Methods: The Safety and Health Involvement For Truck drivers intervention was implemented in a Web-based computer and smartphone-accessible format and included a group weight loss competition and body weight and behavioral self-monitoring with feedback, computer-based training, and motivational interviewing. Indices were calculated to reflect engagement patterns for these components, and generalized linear models quantified predictive relationships between participation in intervention components and outcomes. Results: Participants who completed the full program-defined dose of the intervention had significantly greater weight loss than those who did not. Behavioral self-monitoring, computer-based training, and health coaching were significant predictors of dietary changes, whereas behavioral and body weight self-monitoring was the only significant predictor of changes in physical activity. Behavioral and body weight self-monitoring was the strongest predictor of weight loss. Conclusion: Web-based self-monitoring of body weight and health behaviors was a particularly impactful tactic in our mobile health intervention. Findings advance the science of behavior change in mobile health intervention delivery and inform the development of health programs for dispersed populations.
