실내환경에서의 2 차원/ 3 차원 Map Modeling 제작기법 (A 2D / 3D Map Modeling of Indoor Environment)

  • In large scale environments like airport, museum, large warehouse and department store, autonomous mobile robots will play an important role in security and surveillance tasks. Robotic security guards will give the surveyed information of large scale environments and communicate with human operator with that kind of data such as if there is an object or not and a window is open. Both for visualization of information and as human machine interface for remote control, a 3D model can give much more useful information than the typical 2D maps used in many robotic applications today. It is easier to understandable and makes user feel like being in a location of robot so that user could interact with robot more naturally in a remote circumstance and see structures such as windows and doors that cannot be seen in a 2D model. In this paper we present our simple and easy to use method to obtain a 3D textured model. For expression of reality, we need to integrate the 3D models and real scenes. Most of other cases of 3D modeling method consist of two data acquisition devices. One for getting a 3D model and another for obtaining realistic textures. In this case, the former device would be 2D laser range-finder and the latter device would be common camera. Our algorithm consists of building a measurement-based 2D metric map which is acquired by laser range-finder, texture acquisition/stitching and texture-mapping to corresponding 3D model. The algorithm is implemented with laser sensor for obtaining 2D/3D metric map and two cameras for gathering texture. Our geometric 3D model consists of planes that model the floor and walls. The geometry of the planes is extracted from the 2D metric map data. Textures for the floor and walls are generated from the images captured by two 1394 cameras which have wide Field of View angle. Image stitching and image cutting process is used to generate textured images for corresponding with a 3D model. The algorithm is applied to 2 cases which are corridor and space that has the four wall like room of building. The generated 3D map model of indoor environment is shown with VRML format and can be viewed in a web browser with a VRML plug-in. The proposed algorithm can be applied to 3D model-based remote surveillance system through WWW.

토픽 모델링을 활용한 도서관, 기록관, 박물관간의 연구 주제 분석 (Analysis of Research Topics among Library, Archives and Museums using Topic Modeling)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 광의의 측면에서 지식정보제공이라는 공동의 임무를 수행하는 도서관, 기록관, 박물관간의 협력 플랫폼 구축에 관한 연구의 동향을 토픽 모델링을 통하여 파악하기 위한 것이다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 Scopus로부터 이들 세 기관을 동시에 다루는 논문 637편의 서지정보를 수집하였다. 수집된 서지정보 중에서 초록을 대상으로 NetMiner V.4를 통하여 총 5,218개의 단어를 추출한 후 토픽모델링 분석하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, tf-idf의 가중치에 따른 단어출현 빈도를 분석한 결과 '보존(Preservation)'이 가장 높게 나타났으며, 둘째, LDA(Latent Dirichlet Allocation) 알고리즘을 통한 토픽모델링 분석결과 13개의 주제 영역이 도출되었다. 셋째, 13개의 주제 영역을 네트워크로 표현한 결과 '리포지터리 구축(Repository Construction)'을 중심으로 기관간의 협력, 정보자원 보존을 위한 환경 구축, 정부차원에서의 제도와 정책 발굴, 정보자원의 생애주기, 정보자원의 전시, 정보자원의 검색 등이 서로 밀접한 관련성을 가진 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 13개의 주제 영역의 연도별 동향을 살펴보면, 1998년 이전의 연구는 제도와 정책 발굴, 정보자원의 검색, 정보자원의 생애주기 등과 같이 특정 주제에 한정된 반면, 그 이후의 연구는 보다 다양한 주제를 다룬 것으로 분석되었다.

19세기 웨딩드레스의 미적 특성에 관한 연구 - 신고전주의와 낭만주의를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Aesthetic Characteristics of Wedding Dress in the 19th Century - Focusing on Neo-Classicism and Romanticism -)

  • The purpose of this study is to take into consideration the formative and aesthetic characteristics of wedding dresses that existed during the periods of Neo-Classicism and Romanticism which appeared as a reaction toward Neo-Classicism. The method of the research was mainly focused on precedent research data and general references. Furthermore the data on wedding dresses was mainly collected from British, French, and American library and museum web sites. The result of the research is the following. The Neo-Classicism art, which appeared along with the enlightenment in the beginning of the 19th century, pursues beauty based on associations and imitations of ancient Greek and Roman arts. In addition to aforementioned pursuits, the Neo-Classicism art also pursued universal beauty and social usefulness through law and order. This aesthetic value was also applied to the wedding dresses, so classical beauty, natural beauty and universal beauty were expressed as follows: corsets of the previous era were removed from general clothing and Empire style that imitated natural Greek style became predominant. Also, muslin replaced high quality clothes which were used as the main materials of the dressing during the previous era. Empire style's wedding dress became popular and simple colors and styles of the wedding dress expressed the beauty of the human body and emphasized civility at the same time. Romanticism art and costumes opposed rationalism and pursued sentimentalism. Moreover, it pursued diversity, exotic tastes and accepted diverse reactionism unlike Neo-Classicism's simplification and standardization. These aesthetic characteristic were applied to the wedding dress of this period; wedding dress of romanticism pursued feminine and elegant beauty with "X" silhouettes and various decorations, like general costumes. And they were decorated with a variety of excessive accessories, details and trimmings to express romantic sentimentalism. Exotic tastes which included Chinese, Egyptian, Indian influence and other diverse tastes were expressed through hair style, accessories and patterns of shawl. However, the white color in the wedding dress revealed purity and sanctity which cannot be found from general costumes regardless of whether the dress expressed Neo-classicism or Romanticism. As a formal dress worn during wedding ceremonies, the wedding dresses of the royalty revealed dignity and authority and significantly influenced later wedding dress designs.

가상현실을 이용한 영상산업 활용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Utilization of Video Industry Using Virtual Reality)

  • 가상현실 기술은 인간이 현실세계에서 경험하는 것과 유사한 상호작용 행위를 가상의 공간을 통하여 체험할 수 있게 하는 기술이다. 가상현실 기술을 이용하여 3차인 가상공간에 참여한 사용자는 시간적 공간적 제약에 구애받지 않고 원하는 공간에서 다양한 경험을 할 수 있어서 영상산업, 오락, 시뮬레이션, 의료, 건축 및 설계분야 등 수많은 응용분야에서 그 기술이 활용되고 있다. 그 중 영상분야는 고 부가가치 산업으로 가장 각광을 받고 있는 분야라 할 수 있다. 이와 관련하여 본고에서는 영상산업의 영화, 방송, 광고, 인터넷 등 4가지로 분류하여 각각의 특징 및 적용사례와 발전 가능성을 관하여 살펴보고자 한다. 영상산업에서 가상현실 기술을 이용한 산업을 보면, 영화분야에서는 가상현실 기술을 이용하여 특수효과에 제작되고 있으며, 방송분야에서는 가상 스튜디오와 가상 캐릭터 도입으로 시청자에게 다양한 그래픽 가상세계를 제공하고 있다. 광고분야에서는 방송 생중계시 가상공간에 실시간으로 3차원적 광고 삽입하여 시청자에게 큰 시너지 효과를 줄 수가 있다. 또한, 가상현실 언어인 VRML의 등장으로 웹 상에서도 가상 박물관, 가상 모델하우스, 가상 홈쇼핑, 오락 등 3타원 가상현실 구현이 가능하게 되어 보다 다양한 엔터테인먼트 역할을 수행하고 있다. 이와 같이 본 고는 가상현실 기술을 이용하여 영상산업에 있어 활용방안을 모색하고자 하였다.

20세기 웨딩드레스의 유행변화에 관한 연구 I (A Study I on the fashion trends of wedding dresses in the 20th century)

  • The objective of this research is to unveil the dynamic changes of the trends in wedding dresses during the 20th Century. The studies were carried out in two forms; firstly by observing the actual wedding dresses worn by people at that time, and secondly by conducting formative comparisons between those dresses with the ones appeared in movies corresponding to that period. Movies provide an invaluable insight into the era's wedding dresses fashion trends since they function as intimate bridges in connection with the time's audience, and the visible imageries accurately reflect the characteristics embedded within that time frame. As there are no precedent studies regarding this topic, this thesis can serve as vital research data for the wedding dress industry. Research data regarding the actual wedding dresses were collected from books and museum web sites. The object of movies were films produced before World War II that contained both the background settings of the 20th Century and wedding dresses, of which photographic imageries were captured. Research analysis was then conducted by merging these data with findings from relevant books and internet materials. The results of the thesis are as the following: The 1900s was an extension of the 19th Century's popular fashion trend which can be characterized as the S curve silhouettes of the Edwardian period when long trains and long veils symbolized wealth and social power. In the 1910s, high waist silhouettes with soft wrinkles were prevalent as attire suitable for active mobility with practical functionality were highly regarded. During the 1920s, the flapper style became the dominant trend. Hem lines of the skirts were curled in the form of the scallop and laces were the most widely used raw materials. By the 1930s, wedding dresses that reinterpreted the glamorous sheath lines, practical two piece styles, and retro-styles became predominant. The 1940s saw the advent of ready-made wedding dresses made of synthesized materials; practical military style suits and casuals sometimes substituted the wedding dresses. And although the wedding dresses in the movies were primarily costumes to express the personalities of the characters, they were also reinterpreted as manifestations of the formative characteristics of each relative period that pursued very distinct and diverse features.

  • A major concern regarding the collection and storage of biodiversity information is the inefficiency of conventional taxonomic approaches in dealing with a large number of species. This inefficiency has increased the demand for automated, rapid, and reliable molecular identification systems and large-scale biological databases. DNA-based taxonomic approaches are now arguably a necessity in biodiversity studies. In particular, DNA barcoding using short DNA sequences provides an effective molecular tool for species identification. We constructed a large-scale database system that holds a collection of 5531 barcode sequences from 2429 Korean species. The Korea Barcode of Life database (KBOL, http://koreabarcode.org) is a web-based database system that is used for compiling a high volume of DNA barcode data and identifying unknown biological specimens. With the KBOL system, users can not only link DNA barcodes and biological information but can also undertake conservation activities, including environmental management, monitoring, and detecting significant organisms.

전라남도 압해도 백악기층에서 발견된 공룡알 둥지의 K-Ar 연대 (K-Ar Ages of Dinosaur Egg Nest found in Cretaceous Formation of Aphaedo, Jeollanam-do, Korea)

  • 2009년 9월 전남 신안군 압해도 지역의 백악기층에서 완벽하게 보존된 공룡알둥지 화석이 발견되었다. 이 연구에서는 압해도 백악기층의 퇴적시기와 공룡들의 활동시기를 밝히기 위하여 이 지층과 동시퇴적구조를 보이는 화산암역, 이 지층을 정합으로 덮는 산성응회암 그리고 이들을 관입하는 산성맥암에 대하여 K-Ar 전암연대측정을 수행하였다. 이 지층에서 관찰되는 화산암은 렌즈상의 역암과 역질이암층의 역으로 발견되며 그 직경은 3-20 cm이다. 이 층에 포함된 공룡알 둥지와 동시퇴적 구조를 보이는 6개의 화산암역을 대상으로 K-Ar 전암연대측정을 실시하였으며, 그 값은 후기 백악기의 세노마니안($97.6{\pm}1.9$ Ma), 코니아시안($87.6{\pm}1.7$ Ma), 산토니안($84.5{\pm}1.7$ Ma), 캄파니안($82.5{\pm}1.6$, $77.3{\pm}1.5$, $75.7{\pm}1.5$ Ma)에 해당한다. 이 백악기층을 부정합으로 덮는 산성응회암에 대하여 동일 조건으로 K-Ar 전암연대를 측정하였으며 그 결과는 캄파니안($79.2{\pm}1.6$, $77.3{\pm}1.5$Ma)에 속한다. 상기의 모든 암층을 관입하는 산성맥암에 대한 K-Ar 전암 연대측정 결과는 $70.9{\pm}1.4$ Ma로 캄파니안에 속한다. 압해도지역에 분포하는 백악기층의 퇴적시기와 공룡의 활동시기는 77-83 Ma 사이이며 이 결과는 공룡알을 포함하는 보성 선소층(81 Ma)과 공룡, 익룡 및 물갈퀴 새발자국을 포함하는 해남 우항리층의 형성시기에 대한 지질연대(79-81 Ma) 등이 서로 대비될 가능성을 시사한다.
