  • COVID-19로 급부상한 메타버스는 현실 세계의 활동을 가상세계로 확장하여 접근하는 방식을 제시함으로써, 서비스 사업자들에게 현실의 자산이나 가치를 가상 공간에서 새로운 자산과 가치로 재해석하여 새로운 창조적 생태계를 선도할 수 있는 자유도와 기회를 제공하고, 사용자들에게는 이를 통해 서비스의 접근성과 지속성 및 새로운 욕구를 충족할 수 있는 기회를 제공함으로써 관심을 받게 되었다. 본 기고에서는 미래 메타버스 생태계의 새로운 기회를 제공할 DAO와 Web 3.0 관련 동향을 점검하고 탈중앙화의 미래 가능성과 문제점을 논한다.

A Survey Study of the Social Networking Sites Used By Libraries and Their Rankings

  • A survey was conducted to determine the level of awareness of library professionals working in engineering and technological institution libraries in Karnataka regarding web technology and social media sites in particular. The researcher designed a structured questionnaire using Google Forms and sent it to 204 engineering colleges affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. There is a reasonable amount of awareness and acquaintance with social media sites among working library professionals. Analysis and interpretation are performed with the standard statistical tool (SPSS). The result of this study could provide library professionals with useful insights on how to use social media sites to promote library services.

Emotion of People with Visual Disability for Enhancing Web Accessibility (웹 접근성 향상을 위한 시각장애인과 일반인의 감성 비교)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the emotional responses of people with visual disability with those of normal people and to understand their similarity or differences in order to apply the new understandings into the future research on Web Accessibility Guidelines. For this purpose, a Web survey system was developed using 15 auditorial stimuli prepared based on the Media Taxonomy and 11 emotion measuring criteria selected from the literature review. After developing the system, emotional responses of 31 people with visual disability and 53 normal people were collected through the Web. The results of the survey showed that the emotional responses of people with visual disability were similar to those of normal people, although there were some exceptional cases. Therefore, it is clear that emotional needs of people with disability should be taken count of in the Web accessibility discussions and further in-depth studies on the emotional characteristics of people with disability are necessary.

  • Web-toon is provided to users in the form of Web-toon and The users are steadily rising and increasing amount of using time until today. Web-toon has become a popular pastime among smartphone users. Therefore, when providing services, Web-toon application should be made with an appropriate system so that it can be easily used, and considering problems that users may have while using the application, it should help users have better experiences. With Naver Web-toon and Lezin Comics as subjects, user experiences of teenagers were analyzed with questionnaires based on Honeycomb model of Peter Morville. The score of Naver Web-toon was higher than Lezin Comics after user experience assesment, and usability and accessibility as important factors turned out to be influential to teen-aged users who use Web-toon services.

  • In this study, a framework for web-based information system in VDN environment for safety and health monitoring in subway stations is suggested. Since physical variables that describing safety and health need to be closely monitored in multiple locations in subway stations, concept of distributed monitoring network using wireless media needs to be implemented. Connecting remote wireless sensor network and device (LonWorks) networks to the IP network based on the concept of VDN can provide a powerful, integrated and distributed monitoring performance, making a web-based information system possible.

  • Mobile devices are being widely used to access Internet contents. However, most available web pages are designed for desktop computers and consequently it is inconvenient to browse large web pages on mobile devices with small screen. Text identification is a process to extract texts from the body of a web page, which are then displayed in a comfortable way for reading. In this paper, we propose a text extraction scheme and discuss its implementation.

  • In recent years, amount of studies on application of wetbased educational system are proceeding in educational field. This study proposes design and implementation for web-based learning system using WMT in order to practise assistance learning between teacher and students on the web. For system design and implementation, this study utilizes Windows 2000 Server and Windows Media Technology. Using WMT, we make teaming materials and put them in web-based educational system. It should be possible to make teaming in accordance with Windows Media Player for a long-distance students. As a result, this study expects to accomplish a web-based learning between teacher and student on the web.

  • The Internet has become one of the most important channels for people to communicate and for companies to implement their sales promotion activities, such as advertising. Marketing and advertising attempt to influence customers' attitude to persuade them to choose to buy the advertisers' products instead of the competitors'. With the different forms of online marketing, such as search engine marketing, email marketing, and mobile marketing, advertisers can find more effective strategies to attract the attention of more targeted audiences. With the emergence of the social web (web 2.0), a new platform was introduced called social networks. This paper presents the current work in internet marketing activities until web 2.0, and conducts a social network analysis to aid in data extraction. Marketing and advertising companies have understood the power of information for a very long time. The more knowledge these companies have on the demographics, consumer habits, and preferences of particular customer types, the more they can tailor their product offerings, and the more sales they can make. This paper aims to understand the internet marketing concepts as well as present challenges and work directions in internet marketing.

  • Media Contents Recommendation Web Service (service name 'mobodra') is a web service that analyzes media types and genre tastes for each user and recommends content accordingly. Users select some of the works randomly provided on the web when signing up for membership and analyze their tastes based on this. Based on this analysis, preferred content for each user is recommended. In this paper, we implement a content recommendation algorithm through item-based collaborative filtering. When the user's activity data or preference is re-examined, the above process is executed again to update the user's taste.
