Although the reuse of the cached data for scrolling the map reduces the amount of passed data between client and server, it needs the conversions of data coordinates, selective deletion of objects, cache compaction and object structuring step in the clients. The conversion is a time- intensive operation due to limited resources of mobile phones such as low computing power, small memory. Therefore, in order to control the map efficiently in the vector map service based mobile phones, it is necessary to study the methods which reuse cached objects for reducing wireless network bandwidth and overwhelming the limited resources of mobile phones as well. This paper proposes the methods of reusing pre-received spatial objects for map control in the mobile vector map service system based on client-server architecture. The experiments conducted on the Web GIS systems with real data show that the proposed method is appropriate to map services for mobile phone. We also analyze the advantages and drawbacks between the reuse of cached data and transmission of raw data respectively.

The number and size of resource constituting the web page has been increasing steadily, and this circumstance leads to rapidly falling quality of web service in mobile network that offer relatively higher delay. Moreover, Improving the quality of a web services protocol is difficult to provide network function because the current network architecture has closed structure. In this paper, we suggest schemes to enhance web performance in mobile network, which are Check Coded DOM scheme and Functional JavaScript Transmission scheme, and then try to seek idea which can be provided suggested schemes as a network function using NFV(Network Function Virtualization). For the performance evaluation and analysis about the suggested schemes, we perform network simulation using SMPL library. We confirm that suggested schemes offer better performance in term of page loading time, the number of message and the amount of traffic in the network than HTTP Protocol.

The traffic in the wired and wireless networks has increased exponentially because of increase of smart phone and improvement of PC performance. Multimedia services and file transmission such as Facebook, Youtube occupy a large part of the traffic. CDN is a technique that duplicates the contents on a remote web server of content provider to local CDN servers near clients and chooses the optimal CDN server for providing the content to the client in the event of a content request. In this paper, the content request message between CDN servers and the client used the SCRP algorithm utilizing the MST algorithm and the traffic throughput was optimized. The average response time for the content request is reduced by employing HC_LRU cache algorithm that improves the cache hit ratio. The proposed SCRP and HC_LRU algorithm may build a scalable content delivery network system that efficiently utilizes network resources, achieves traffic localization and prevents bottlenecks.
Memcached, commonly used to speed up the data access in big-data and Internet-web applications, is a system software of the distributed-cache mechanism. But it is subject to the severe challenge of the loss of recently uncommitted updates in the case where the Memcached servers crash due to some reason. Although the replica scheme and the disk-log-based replay mechanism have been proposed to overcome this problem, they generate either the overhead of the replica synchronization or the persistent-storage overhead that is caused by flushing related logs. This paper proposes a scheme of backing up the write requests (i.e., set and add) on the Memcached client side, to reduce the overhead resulting from the making of disk-log records or performing the replica consistency. If the Memcached server fails, a timestamp-based recovery mechanism is then introduced to replay the write requests (buffered by relevant clients), for regaining the lost-data updates on the rebooted Memcached server, thereby meeting the data-consistency requirement. More importantly, compared with the mechanism of logging the write requests to the persistent storage of the master server and the server-replication scheme, the newly proposed approach of backing up the logs on the client side can greatly decrease the time overhead by up to 116.8% when processing the write workloads.
With the recent explosion in using of the Internet, the problem of caching web objects has gained considerable importance. Caching on the Internet differs from traditional caching in several ways. Especially, the conventional caching algorithms are not well suited for the Internet caching. The poor performance is mainly due to its unfair treatment of small objects since all the objects are treated the same even though they differ in size. In this paper, I give an overview of caching policies designed for web objects, and provide a new algorithm of my own. I also have performed trace-driven simulations about variable-size replacement algorithms, and derived a new algorithm to improve byte hit-ratio by classifying objects based on their sizes.
As data on the Web is more and more in XML due to proliferation of Web applications such as e-Commerce, it is strongly required to rapidly process XML queries. One of such techniques is XML query caching. For frequently submitted queries, their results could be cached in order to guarantee fast response for the same queries. In this paper, we propose techniques for XML query performance improvement whereby the set of node identifiers(NIS) for an XML query is cached. NIS is most commonly employed as a format of XML query result,, consisting of the identifiers of the XML elements that comprise the query result. With NIS, it is suitable to meet the Web applications data retrieval requirements because reconstruction and/or modification of query results and integration of multiple query results can be efficiently done. Incremental refresh of NIS against its source updates can also be efficiently done. When the query result is requested in XML, however, materialization of NIS is needed by retrieving the source XML elements through their identifiers. In this paper, we consider three different types of NISs. proposing the algorithms of their creation, materialization, and incremental refresh. All of them were implemented using an RDBMS. Through a detailed set of performance experiments, we showed the efficiency of the proposed XML query caching techniques.
This paper presents distributive web-caching technique on the Head-End-Network (HNET) to solve excessive load of multimedia sever and inefficient use of network resources, The proposed web-caching is not concentration of load for a specific Head-End-Node(HEN), and it has advantage that there is no copy of a specific item on distributive HENs. This technique distributively stores on HENs partial streams of requested videos from clients connected to HENs and the order of store streams follows the order of request of identical video items from HENs. Thus, storing streams on each HEN that requests sevice are different. When a client requests the cached video on some HENs, the HEN that connects him receives streams in the order of store from HENs which stored them and it transmits them to him. These procedures are performed under the control of SA. This technique uses cache replacement algorithm that the combination of LFU, LRU and the last remove for the first stream of videos In order to reduce end-to-end delay.
As the number of World Wide Web (Web) users grows, Web traffic continues to increase at an exponential rate. Currently, Web traffic is one of the major components of Internet traffic. Also, high bandwodth usage due to Web traffic is observed during peak periods while leaving bandwidth usage idle during off-peak periods. One of the solutions to reduce Web traffic and speed up Web access is through the use of Web caching. Unfortunately, Web caching has limitations for reducing network bandwidth usage during peak periods. In this paper, we focus our attention on the use of a prefetching algorithm for reducing bandwidth during peak periods by using off-peak period bandwidth. We propose a statistical, batch, proxy-side prefetching scheme that improves cache hit rate while only requiring a small amount of storage. Web objects that were accessed many times in previous 24 hours but would be expired in the next 24 hours, are selected and prefetched in our scheme. We present simulation results based on Web proxy and show that this prefetching algorithm can reduce peak time bandwidth using off-peak bandwidth.
Caching in a Wireless Internet Proxy Server Cluster Environment has an effect that minimizes the time on the request and response of Internet traffic and Web user As a way to increase the hit ratio of cache, we can use a hash function to make the same request URLs to be assigned to the same cache server. The disadvantage of the hashing scheme is that client requests cannot be well-distributed to all cache servers so that the performance of the whole system can depend on only a few busy servers. In this paper, we propose an improved load balancing scheme using hashing and Round Robin scheme that distributes client requests evenly to cache servers. In the existing hashing scheme, if a hashing value for a request URL is calculated, the server number is statically fixed at compile time while in the proposed scheme it is dynamically fixed at run time using round robin method. We implemented the proposed scheme in a Wireless Internet Proxy Server Cluster Environment and performed experiments using 16 PCs. Experimental results show the even distribution of client requests and the 52% to 112% performance improvement compared to the existing hashing method.
