  • Nowadays, followed the internet service contents increasing makes also increase attack case on the web system. Usually web attack use mixed many kinds of attack mechanism for successfully attack to the server system. These increasing of the kinds attack mechanism, however web attack defence mechanism is not follow the spread of the attack. Therefore, for the defends web application, web attack should be categorizing and analysing for the effective defense. In this paper, we analyze web attack specification evidence and behavior system that use for effective expressions what we proposed. Also, we generate web attack scenario, it is for using verification of our proposed expressions.

  • In proportion to the rapid increase in the number of Web users, web attack techniques are also getting more sophisticated. Therefore, we need not only to detect Web attack based on the log analysis but also to extract web attack events from audit information such as Web firewall, Web IDS and system logs for detecting abnormal Web behaviors. In this paper, web attack detection system was designed and implemented based on integrated web audit data for detecting diverse web attack by generating integrated log information generated from W3C form of IIS log and web firewall/IDS log. The proposed system analyzes multiple web sessions and determines its correlation between the sessions and web attack efficiently. Therefore, proposed system has advantages on extracting the latest web attack events efficiently by designing and implementing the multiple web session and log correlation analysis actively.

  • Frequency of attacks on web services and the resulting damage continue to grow as web services become popular. Techniques used in web service attacks are usually different from traditional network intrusion techniques, and techniques to protect web services are badly needed. Unfortunately, conventional intrusion detection systems (IDS), especially those based on known attack signatures, are inadequate in providing reasonable degree of security to web services. An application-level IDS, tailored to web services, is needed to overcome such limitations. The first step in developing web application IDS is to analyze known attacks on web services and characterize them so that anomaly-based intrusion defection becomes possible. In this paper, we classified known attack techniques to web services by analyzing causes, locations where such attack can be easily detected, and the potential risks.

  • The Android operating system is exposed to a phishing attack of stealing private information that a user enters into a web page. We have discovered two security vulnerabilities of the phishing attack. First, an always-on-top scheme allows malware to place a transparent user interface (UI) on the current top screen and intercept a user input. Second, the Android provides some APIs that allow malware to obtain the information of a currently visited web page. This paper introduces a phishing that attacks a web page by exploiting the two vulnerabilities. The attack detects a visit to a security-relevant web page and steals private information from the web page. Our experiments on popular web sites reveal that the attack is significantly accurate and dangerous.

  • WebView is a vital component in smartphone platforms like Android, Windows and iOS that enables smartphone applications (apps) to embed a simple yet powerful web browser inside them. WebView not only provides the same functionalities as web browser, it, more importantly, enables a rich interaction between apps and webpages loaded inside the WebView. However, the design and the features of WebView lays path to tamper the sandbox protection mechanism implemented by browsers. As a consequence, malicious attacks can be launched either against the apps or by the apps through the exploitation of WebView APIs. This paper presents a critical attack called Supplementary Event-Listener Injection (SEI) attack which adds auxiliary event listeners, for executing malicious activities, on the HTML elements in the webpage loaded by the WebView via JavaScript Injection. This paper also proposes an automated static analysis system for analyzing WebView embedded apps to classify the kind of vulnerability possessed by them and a solution for the mitigation of the attack.

  • Despite of information security installation, leakage of personal information in web services has not decreased. This is because traffics to web applications are still vulnerable by permitting external sources to access services in port HTTF 80 and HTTPS 443, even with firewall systems in place. This thesis analyzes various attack patterns resulted from web service environment and vulnerable traffic and categorizes the traffics into normal and abnormal traffics. Also this proposes ways to analyze web application attack patterns from those abnormal traffics based on weak points warned in OWASF(Open Web Application Security Project), design a system capable of detect and isolate attacks in real time, and increase efficiency of preventing attacks.

  • Application-layer Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack is one of the leading security problems in the Internet. In recent years, the attack strategies of application-layer DDoS have rapidly developed. This paper introduces a new attack strategy named Path Vulnerabilities-Based (PVB) attack. In this attack strategy, an attacker first analyzes the contents of web pages and subsequently measures the actual response time of each webpage to build a web-resource-weighted-directed graph. The attacker uses a Top M Longest Path algorithm to find M DDoS vulnerable paths that consume considerable resources when sequentially accessing the pages following any of those paths. A detection mechanism for such attack is also proposed and discussed. A finite-state machine is used to model the dynamical processes for the state of the user's session and monitor the PVB attacks. Numerical results based on real-traffic simulations reveal the efficiency of the attack strategy and the detection mechanism.

  • As web accessibility has been easier, security issue becomes much more important in web applications demanding user authentication. Cookie is used to reduce the load of the server from the session in web applications and manage the user information efficiently. However, the cookie containing user information can be sniffed by an attacker. With this sniffed cookie, the attacker can retain the web application session of the lawful user as if the attacker is the lawful user. This kind of attack are called cookie replay attack and it causes serious security problems in web applications. In this paper, we have introduced a mechanism to detect cookie replay attacks and defend them, and verified effectiveness of the mechanism.

  • DNS spoofing is an attack in which an attacker intervenes in the communication between client and DNS server to deceive DNS server by responding to a fake IP address rather than actual IP address. It is possible to implement a pharming site that hacks user ID and password by duplicating web server's index page and simple web programming. In this paper we have studied web spoofing attack that combines DNS spoofing and pharming site implementation which leads to farming site. We have studied DNS spoofing attack method, procedure and farming site implementation method for portal server of this university. In the case of Kyungsung Portal, bypassing attack and hacking were possible even though the web server was SSL encrypted and secure authentication. Many web servers do not have security measures, and even web servers secured by SSL can be disabled. So it is necessary that these serious risks are to be informed and countermeasures are to be researched.
