SEP를 이용한 헬기와 지상부대 간 전술데이터링크체계 구현 (Implementation of the Tactical Data Link System of Helicopters-Ground Units Using SEP)

  • The Tactical Data Link System(TDLS) is a standardized communication link to exchange and interface positional, situational information, command and control in real time. It has been evalua ted that the link would play an important role for tactical interoperability, situation awareness, and execution of joint operations in the future war. But considering the rapidly changing war situations, even though being admitted the necessity of the TDLS of Army helicopter, one of superpowers in the Army, it is not yet built the detailed operational concept. Therefore, this work presents how to embody the TDLS through the systems engineering approach based on the TDLS operating concept analysis of helicopters-ground units.

무기체계 오류 검증을 위한 실시간 시스템 병렬시험 기법 (Real-Time System Parallel Testing Techniques for Weapon System Error Verification)

  • 본 논문은 무기체계의 오류를 검증할 때 필요한 실시간 시스템 병렬시험 기법에 대해서 제안한다. 이전에 국방분야에서 사용되는 야전시험장비는 무기체계를 순차적으로 검증하는 방식을 사용하였다. 오류를 순차적으로 검증하는 방식은 내부유닛간의 상호 간섭에 의한 부분의 오류검증은 할 수 없었다. 이러한 이유로 인해 본 논문에는 기존에 무기체계 오류 검증 시 사용되는 순차적 시험기법이 아닌 임베디드 장치를 이용한 실시간 시스템 병렬시험 기법을 제안한다. 임베디드 모듈이 탑재된 스위칭 제어카드는 병렬시험을 수행하고 그 결과를 사용자의 제어장치로 전달한다. 이러한 방식은 기존의 방식에 비해 좀 더 정확하게 무기체계 내부의 상호 간섭에 대한 오류 검증을 할 수 있다.

  • Weapon systems composed of several subsystems execute various engagement missions in distributed combat environments in cooperation with a large number of subordinate/adjacent weapon systems as well as higher echelons through tactical data links. Such distributed weapon systems require distributed real-time simulation test beds to integrate and test their operational software, analyze their performance and effects of cooperated engagement, and validate their requirement specifications. These demands present significant challenges in terms of real-time constraints, time synchronization, complexity and development cost of an engagement simulation test bed, thus necessitate the use of high-performance distributed real-time simulation architectures, and modeling and simulation techniques. In this paper, in order to meet these demands, we presented a distributed real-time simulation system based on High Level Architecture(HLA) and Discrete Event System Specification(DEVS). We validated its performance by using it as a test bed for developing the Engagement Control System(ECS) of a surface-to-air missile system. The proposed technique can be employed to design a prototype or model of engagement-level distributed real-time simulation systems.

유도무기체계 구동장치 기술에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Actuating Device Technology in Guided Weapon System)

  • 본 논문에서는 유도무기체계의 구동장치 기술에 대한 사항과 발전방향에 대해 연구하였다. 유도무기체계의 구동장치로는 일반적으로 유 공압 및 전기모타 구동장치가 많이 사용되었으나 근래에는 작은 동력이 요구되는 소형 전술용 유도탄의 구동장치를 제외하고는 대부분 경우에 출력 대 무게비가 높은 유압구동장치가 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 최근에는 유도탄의 높은 기동성 혹은 반응성 요구와 함께 신소재를 이용한 자성재료들의 개발, 제어기술 및 동력전자 기술의 발달, 디지털화 또는 집적화 등 구동장치 관련 기술의 발전도 두드러져 구동장치의 기술수준과 설계개념 등이 빠른 속도로 변화하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해서 차세대의 유도무기체계 구동장치의 설계기준과 구성, 특성 및 세부기술의 발전방향 명확히 제시하였다.

  • This research suggests the development of simulator for a Simulation Test of a moving object's path generation and following. There are many kinds of moving objects in weapon systems, such as vehicles, missiles, robots and so on. So need tests of moving simulations during development process of weapon systems. To simulate a moving object, need an flexible path. So this report suggests a $B\acute{e}zier$ curve algorithm for generation of smooth curve path. And when new developments of weapon systems are started, many kinds of simulators are created. But, these simulators are not reused in other project because there are different kinds of development environment. So need to allow users to add specific features, And this report suggests using Dynamic Link Library(DLL).

  • A HILS(Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation) technique for an IR guided weapon is proposed. The IR HILS facility functions as a testing unit for a missile guidance and control system to evaluate target acquisition, tracking, and countermeasure performance. The configuration of IR HILS facility, modeling technique of an IR environment including target, background and countermeasure, and test and evaluation procedure are included.

자산기반 무기할당 문제의 선형 근사 모형 (A Linear Approximation Model for an Asset-based Weapon Target Assignment Problem)

  • A missile defense system is composed of radars detecting incoming missiles aiming at defense assets, command control units making the decisions on weapon target assignment, and artillery batteries firing of defensive weapons to the incoming missiles. Although, the technology behind the development of radars and weapons is very important, effective assignment of the weapons against missile threats is much more crucial. When incoming missile targets toward valuable assets in the defense area are detected, the asset-based weapon target assignment model addresses the issue of weapon assignment to these missiles so as to maximize the total value of surviving assets threatened by them. In this paper, we present a model for an asset-based weapon assignment problem with shoot-look-shoot engagement policy and fixed set-up time between each anti-missile launch from each defense unit. Then, we show detailed linear approximation process for nonlinear portions of the model and propose final linear approximation model. After that, the proposed model is applied to several ballistic missile defense scenarios. In each defense scenario, the number of incoming missiles, the speed and the position of each missile, the number of defense artillery battery, the number of anti-missile in each artillery battery, single shot kill probability of each weapon to each target, value of assets, the air defense coverage are given. After running lpSolveAPI package of R language with the given data in each scenario in a personal computer, we summarize its weapon target assignment results specified with launch order time for each artillery battery. We also show computer processing time to get the result for each scenario.

  • Today's firms exist and run business in an uncertain and rapidly changing environment in terms of industry, market, technology, economic conditions, and culture. To be competitive, at least to survive, firms must cope with and manage uncertainty effectively. In other words, firms should be equipped with powerful weapons to capture competitive advantage over their competitors. There are several ways for a firm to capture competitive edge over its competitors such as cost leadership, quality of the products and services, manpower, higher productivity, and technology. Among these, technology, especially information technology, could be the most effective weapon for competitive advantages since it is possible to monitor competitors' movement as well as to provide appropriate information with both planning and control phases through an information system.   • 외부와 연결되지 않고 독립적으로 운용되던 무기체계에 최근 네트워크 통신, 센서와 같은 다양한 정보기술이 접목되기 시작하였다. 이는 무기체계 운용자 및 지휘관의 신속하고 정확한 결심과 효과적인 무기체계 운용을 가능하게 한다. 하지만, 무기체계의 사이버 영역 활용이 증가함에 따라 사이버 공격에 의한 피해도 증가할것으로 예상된다. 안전한 무기체계를 개발하기 위해서는 소프트웨어 개발 단계 중 요구사항 도출 단계에서부터 보안적 요소를 고려하는 보안 내재화를 구현하는 것이 필요하다. 미 DoD는 '사이버보안(cybersecurity)' 개념의 도입과 함께 무기체계평가 및 획득 프로세스인 RMF A&A를 시행하고 있으며, 우리나라도 K-RMF 제도 시행을 위한 노력을 지속하고 있다. 하지만, 아직까지 개발 단계에서부터 K-RMF를 적용한 사례는 존재하지 않을뿐더러 미국의 국방 RMF 관련한 자료는 기밀 사항이기에 대부분 공개되지 않는다. 본 연구에서는 RMF와 관련하여 공개된 자료와 체계적인 위협분석 방법을 바탕으로 우리나라의 국방용 RMF인 K-RMF를 예측하여 무기체계의 보안 통제항목을 구축하는 방안에 대해 제안하고, 함정 전투체계에 적용함으로써 그 효용성을 입증한다.

Performance Model을 이용한 무기체계 운용화면 GUI 사용성 평가 및 개선에 대한 연구 (A Study of Usability Evaluation and Improvement of Weapon System Display GUI Using Performance Model)

  • The recent development of modern weapon system by SOS (System of System) has required users to have more exact decision making. It is possible to achieve the control of complex weapon system more efficiently and effectively by increasing usability. Accordingly, many studies on graphical display have been conducted for several years in the field of HCI (Human Computer Interaction) and GUI (Graphic User Interface), starting from its design stage. Therefore, this paper focuses on evaluating the system GUI usability and analyzing several important points based on performance model, which is a tool for the evaluation and the improvement of service quality. Performance Model, the main focus of this study, reflects user expectations (which is defined as user importance in this paper). The study consists of four steps. First, 34 checklists are drawn from the existing studies related to GUI usability evaluation by using a heuristic method, and then the checklists are matched with 11 weapon system design factors. Next, the study evaluates the importance of GUI element and the usability of weapon system "A" with the checklists twice respectively. Third, the performance of user importance ($P_i$) and the performance of usability ($P_u$) are calculated by modifying a numerical formula for normalization in this step. Finally, the study compares the approach it takes and the existing usability evaluation method, demonstrating that there is a significant difference between the two methods as a result. In addition, 4 improvement factors are suggested for weapon system "A" as "Shortcut" and "Description of Abbreviation," and so on. Although it is necessary to conduct more studies for higher reliability and validity of the results, this study is meaningful considering it takes a new point of view.
