충격압축하중을 받는 횡등방성 중실축의 과도 동적해석 (Transient Dynamic Stress Analysis of Transversely Isotropic Cylinders Subject to Longitudinal Impact)

  • 원형축이 축방향으로 충격하중을 받으면 외경에서 반사된 파가 축의 중앙으로 집중되어 순간적으로 큰 응력이 발생하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 여러 가지 충격 축하중을 받는 횡등방성 반-무한 원형축을 대상으로 중실축 내의 종방향 응력전파를 축대칭 유한요소법과 Houtolt 시간적분법을 이용하여 프로그램을 작성하고 수치적으로 해석하여 그 결과를 횡등방성 재료의 재료구성비에 따라 자세히 설명한다. 제시된 해법의 타당성은 본 논문 수치 결과와 기 해석된 다른 해법에 의한 수치결과의 비교를 통해 검증된다. 여러 종류의 충격하중들에 따른 파동의 결과를 2차원, 3차원적으로 제시하여 축응력 전파를 이해하는데 기본 자료가 되도록 하였다. 또한 유한요소법을 이용하여 수치해석을 함에 있어 정확한 수치결과를 얻기 위한 무차원 동특성 시간변수에 대해 기술하였다.

취성재료의 충격파괴에 관한 연구 II (A Study on the Impact Fracture of Fragile Materials)

  • 본 연구에서는 취성재료인 유리판이 충격을 받을 때 생기는 크랙패턴 특히, 콘 크랙의 발생 현상을 이론적으로 규명하여 취성재료의 충격파괴방지에 도움이 되게 하고져 하였으며, 판두께방향의 변형을 고려한 제1보에서의 삼차원 동탄성이론에 의한 응력해석방법을 이용하여 충돌점 및 충돌점근방에서의 변형율분포를 해석하였다. 또 한 고속 및 자유낙하 충격시험을 행하여 얻은 크랙의 패턴과 본 이론해석 결과인 변형 률 분포의 수치계산 결과와 비교함으로써 콘 크랙의 발생현상을 3차원 동탄성이론을 이용한 본 충격응력해석 방법에 의한 규명하였다. 변형률 분포의 해석은 국부변형을 고려한 Hertz의 접촉이론과 Lagrange의 고전판 이론을 이용하여 구한 충격하중계수의 크기에 따라 충격하중의 함수근사식을 바꿔가며 해석하였으며 충돌점으로 부터 0.1cm 간격으로 5cm범위까지를 해석하였다.

Investigation of seismic response of long-span bridges under spatially varying ground motions

  • Long-span structures, such as bridges, can experience different seismic excitations at the supports due to spatially variability of ground motion. Regarding current bridge designing codes, it is just EC 2008 that suggested some regulations to consider it and in the other codes almost ignored while based on some previous studies it is found that the effect of mentioned issue could not be neglected. The current study aimed to perform a comprehensive study about the effect of spatially varying ground motions on the dynamic response of a reinforced concrete bridge under asynchronous input motions considering soil-structure interactions. The correlated ground motions were generated by an introduced method that contains all spatially varying components, and imposed on the supports of the finite element model under different load scenarios. Then the obtained results from uniform and non-uniform excitations were compared to each other. In addition, the effect of soil-structure interactions involved and the corresponding results compared to the previous results. Also, to better understand the seismic response of the bridge, the responses caused by pseudo-static components decompose from the total response. Finally, an incremental dynamic analysis was performed to survey the non-linear behavior of the bridge under assumed load scenarios. The outcomes revealed that the local site condition plays an important role and strongly amplifies the responses. Furthermore, it was found that a combination of wave-passage and strong incoherency severely affected the responses of the structure. Moreover, it has been found that the pseudo-static component's contribution increase with increasing incoherent parameters. In addition, regarding the soil condition was considered for the studied bridge, it was found that a combination of spatially varying ground motions and soil-structure interactions effects could make a very destructive scenarios like, pounding and unseating.

수중폭발에 의한 해중철도의 간이 충격 응답 해석 (Simplified Shock Response Analysis for Submerged Floating Railway against Underwater Explosion)

  • 해중철도 부근에서 테러나 사고에 의해 수중폭발이 발생하였을 경우, 함체에 치명적인 손상을 가할 수 있으므로, 충분한 강도를 확보해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 설계 목적으로 해중철도 인근에서 수중폭발이 발생한 경우, 경험에 기초한 공식을 이용하여 충격압을 추정하고, 충격압에 의한 해중철도의 응답을 해석할 수 있는 간이 해석 방법을 제안하였다. 해중철도 함체를 탄성 지지된 보로 이상화하고, 초기 최대 충격압이 작용하는 보에 대해 정적 유한요소해석을 실시한 후, 동하중 계수와 조합함으로 최대 변위 및 굽힘 모멘트를 계산한다. 간이해석 결과는 상용 유한요소해석 소프트웨어를 이용한, 시간에 따른 과도응답해석 결과와 비교하여 양호한 일치를 보임을 확인하였다.

음향 비선형 파라미터의 추정을 위한 바이스펙트럼 해석법의 적용 (Application of Bispectral Analysis to Estimate Nonlinear Acoustic Parameter)

  • 비선형 음향효과를 계측함에 의해서 재료열화를 평가하는 연구는 오래 전부터 있어 왔다. 여기서, 비선형 음향효과를 계측하는 가장 일반적인 방법은 전파된 수신 신호에서 기본주파수 성분과 2차 고조파 성분의 절대적인 크기를 계측하는 것이다. 이 목적을 위해서 일반적으로 파워스펙트럼 해석법이 널리 사용되어 왔다. 그러나, 파워스펙트럼은 신호처리 후에도 주파수 영역에서 가우스 잡음이 혼재한다는 단점이 있다. 게다가, 비선형 효과에 의해서 발생되는 2차 고조파 성분의 크기는 너무 작아서 잡음에 묻혀버릴 수도 있다. 본 논문에서는, 이 문제를 해결하기 위해서 주파수 영역에서 가우스 잡음을 제거할 수 있는 바이스펙트럼 해석법을 제안하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통하여 잡음이 크게 혼재된 신호에서도 참 값에 가까운 비선형 파라미터를 구할 수 있음을 밝혔다. 또한, 실제 경우에 이 방법의 유용함을 확인하기 위하여 피로 하중에 의해서 고의로 열화시킨 여러 시편에 대하여 파워스펙트럼과 바이스펙트럼을 구하여 비교하였다.

  • Recently, many engineers actively participate in research and development w.r.t the weight reduction and the safety increase of vehicle body structure to meet the requirement of fuel economy and regulations. However, vehicle design concept related with weight reduction and safety increase is reduced to the design conflict problem. In the paper, the axial and bending collapse test of aluminum extruded beams are performed and the collapse characteristics are investigated. The analysis method to verify the fracture characteristics of aluminum extruded beam is presented and discussed.

  • The knocking is one of major parameters to improve engine performance in a spark ignition engine. Many researches have been carried out to identify them using cylinder pressure, vibration signal and so on. In the present study, measurement and analysis was conducted to set up the criteria of knock occurrence by using microphone signal. Cylinder pressure was measured for the reference signal of knocking. It has been observed that resonance frequencies of pressure wave are nearly independent of engine operating conditions such as engine speed, air fuel ratio, load and octane number of fuel within to limited experimental conditions. SDBP(sum of different band-pass data) method using resonance frequency of knock was proposed for estimating knock intensity. SDBP method is superior to identify knock occurrence and its intensity in case of sound pressure measurement.

원심모형실험을 이용한 방파제의 안정성 검토 (An Investigation of Breakwater Stability by Centrifuge Model Tests)

  • In this paper, centrifuge model tests and numerical analysis on the breakwater structure were performed to investigate the stability and behavior of breakwater in field. In centrifuge model tests, construction sequence of breakwater structure such as preparation of weathered rock and sand deposit, construction of D.C.M, rubble mound with crushed stones and installment of breakwater structure was reconstructed like field condition and the behavior of ground settlement and breakwater displacement during stage of construction was observed during tests. For the final stage of simulating the horizontal movement of breakwater due to wave force, horizontal load was applied by horizontal loading apparatus being specially designed so that horizontal displacement of structure could be observed. Numerical analysis were also carried out and its results were compared with test results to assess the property of centrifuge model tests with respect to the behavior of structure as well as ground.

해상 LNG 벙커링 터미널용 파일 가이드 계류 시스템 설계: 싱가포르 항의 사례 연구 (Design of Pile-Guide Mooring System for Offshore LNG Bunkering Terminal: A Case Study for Singapore Port)

  • In this study, a pile-guide mooring system (PGMS) was designed for an offshore liquefied natural gas bunkering terminal (LNG-BT), which is an essential infrastructure for large LNG-fuelled ships. The PGMS consisted of guide piles to restrict five motions of the floater, except for heave, as well as a seabed truss structure to support the guide piles and foundation piles to fix the system to the seabed. Singapore port was considered for a case study because it is a highly probable ports for LNG bunkering projects. The wave height, current speed, and wind speed in Singapore port were investigated to calculate the environmental loads acting on the hull and PGMS. A load and resistance factor approach was used for the structural design, and a finite element analysis was performed for design verification. The steel usage of the PGMS was analyzed and compared with the material usage of a gravity-based structure under similar LNG capacity and water depth criteria. This paper also describes the water depth limit and wave conditions of the PGMS based on estimation of the initial investment and the present value profit difference. It suggests a suitable LNG-BT support system for various design conditions.

Analytical Research of Topside Installation in Mating phase with Crane Vessel

  • The installation of a topside structure can be categorized into the following stages: start, pre-lifting, lifting, lifted, rotating, positioning, lowering, mating, and end of installation. The transfer of the module onto the floating spar hull occurs in the last three stages, from lowering to the end. The coupled multi-body motions are calculated in both calm water and in irregular waves with a significant wave height (1.52m). The effects of the hydrodynamic interactions between the heavy lifting vessel and the spar hull during the lowering and mating stages are considered. The internal forces caused by the load transfer and ballasting are derived for the mating phases. The results of the internal forces for the calm water condition are compared with those in the irregular sea condition. Although the effect of the pitch motion on the relative vertical motion between the deck of the floating structure and the topside module is significant in the mating phases, the internal force induced pitch motion is too small to have this influence. However, the effect of the internal force on the wave-induced heave responses in the mating phases is noticeable in the irregular sea condition because transfer mass-induced draught changes for the floating structure are observed to have higher amplitudes than the external force induced responses. The impacts of the module on the spar hull in the mating phase are investigated.
