  • The Sun's ray is composed of Infared(49%), Visible light(40%) and Ultra violet(11%), however the ray getting to the earth is FIR(60%). IR(20%), and UV(20%). Human beings has utilized FIR already from time immemorial. Hershel found out Infrared for the first time, in the Industrial Revolution the Infrared and FI R had been begun to use making products. In asia. also, asian already has made use of FIR to treat the body, product things and make warm the house in the winter, as it had been called Wull therapy, fermentation. and On-Dol system. In these days, with contemporary science FIR would be begun to clear up the implication in the human body and organic compounds. IR classified by wavelength three parts NIR, MIR, FIR. There is FIR which is radiated from healthy human body the wave length is 8-14 m. It is difficult to standardized the wavelength of IR, since each related associations have a different opinion, so we suggested ideal IR wavelength and biological, phsiotherapical, medical FIR wavelength.

  • The treatment of sulcus vocalis and vocal bowing has been commonly used Thyroplasty Type surgery or injection within vocal folds such as Teflon, silicone, collagen. However, and treatment has not been acquired satisfactory treatment effect. This study was conducted to demonstrate voice therapy effect using singer's vocal technique and respiratory training. 4 patients (1 male, 3 females) with sulcus vocalis or bowing, with or without scar were selected for this study and we compared with acoustic, aerodynamic measures and stroboscopy observation before and after voice therapy. The results showed that 1) case 1 (48yr, male) with sulcus vocalis decreased F0 (Fundamental Frequency), increase CQ(Close Quotient) and high degree of satisfaction but not improved voice quality after voice therapy. 2) case 2(19yrs, femal) with mild sulcus vocalis improved as normal voice quality after voice therapy. 3) case 3(38yrs, female) with functional bowing showed abnormalvocal contact before therapy whereas CQ was increased after voice therapy. 4) case 4(27yrs, female) with vocal atrophy and vocal bowing changed normal range of Fo and increased CQ after voice therapy. Even though contact area of both vocal folds was increased and lowered F0 after voice therapy, current outcomes revealed that normal voice quality was not regained. These results might signify that it was difficult that vocal folds couldn't be recovery of symmetry and viscoelastic property of mucosal wave through voice therapy. However, it was difficult for this study to maintain voice therapy so that evaluate effect of voice therapy for long-term. Further study will be needed to long-term follow-up for voice therapy with these patients.

  • Background and objective: This study verified the physiological and psychological effects of plant fragrance therapy to analyze whether the therapy has a forest healing effect on maladjusted soldiers. Methods: This study was conducted from March 14 to May 31, 2020 according to the Green Camp curriculum for 2 weeks per recruit class. Thus, plant fragrance therapy was implemented twice each for three recruit classes. Each session of the program was carried out for 4 hours from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The venue was the garden within the camp and the forest nearby. Forest healing activities using plant fragrances were led by 1 forest education specialist and 1 assistant. The effects of plant fragrance therapy for maladjusted soldiers were analzed analyzed by quantifying physiological and psychological changes through measuring brain waves and stress levels before and after the therapy. Results: As a result of analyzing BRQ and SQ to determine the physiological and psychological healing effect of plant fragrance therapy, both the left and right brain showed higher BRQ and SQ after the therapy with statistical significance. This indicates that plant fragrance therapy on maladjusted soldiers helped positively stabilize their negative psychological and behavioral dispositions, and stabilization of brain waves lowered physical and mental stress and improved self-regulation and immunity. On the other hand, there was no significant difference in ATO. This is the result of analyzing the stress-coping mechanism. Troubleshooting (t = -2.702, df = 61, p = .009), emotional remission (t = -2.173, df = 61, p = .034), pursuit of help (t = -3.286), df = 61, p = .002), and wishful thinking (t = -3.714, df = 61, p < .001) showed statistically significant results. Conclusion: Applying plant fragrance therapy to maladjusted soldiers positively stabilized their negative psychological and behavioral dispositions and helped their self-regulation. Thus, plant fragrance therapy has psychological and physical forest healing effect on maladjusted soldiers.

  • Purpose : The application of tape to modulation of pain and muscular excitability has become common clinical practice among musculoskeletal physical therapy. However, the techniques of the tape application has been relied on empirical evidence in preference to the neurophysiological evidence. Thus, the mechanism of taping has to be elucidated further. The aim of this study was to determine whether elastic and non-elastic taping across a muscle does indeed change ${\alpha}$-motor neuron excitability. Methods : The study was performed on 10 neurologically healthy adults. Two different types of tape were applied to skin overlying gastrocnemius. The elastic tape stretched up to 120% of its original length but non-elastic tape didn't stretched up of its original length. The tape applied across the direction on thickest part of the gastrocnemius. The ${\alpha}$-motor neuron excitability of the gastrocnemius was assessed using the gastrocnemius H-reflex. The amplitude of the M-wave and H-reflex were measured across three conditions: before tape application, with tape and with the tape removed. Results : No significant changes of the excitability of the ${\alpha}$-motor neuron were obtained across three condition, either in the elastic and non-elastic tape. Conclusion : From the results, I could come to the conclusion that further clinical work will be required.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of varying levels of photobiostimulation treatment dosage on plasma ${\beta}$-endorphin concentration in humans. The subjects of this study were 21 healthy men and women, who were students of the Department of Physical Therapy, College of Health Science, Seonam University. This study was performed from October 26, 1998 to November 5, 1998. All subjects were assigned to one of three groups: a 2.0 $J/cm^2$ laser group, a 4.0 $J/cm^2$ laser group, an 6.0 $J/cm^2$ laser group. He-Ne laser (632.8 nm wave length) and infrared laser (820 nm wave length) of three different energy densities (2.0, 4.0, and 6.0 $J/cm^2$) were applied on the Su-Sam-Ri (L I 10) and Hab-Gog (L I 4) of acupuncture points. Blood samples were taken at pre-treatment, 30 min's post-treatment and 60 min's post-treatment. The level of ${\beta}$ endorphin was measured by radio immuno assay. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and repeated measure two-way ANOVA. The results of this study were as follows: 1) The human plasma ${\beta}$-endorphin concentrations were noted to significantly increase due to the energy densities of laser photobiostimulation (p<0.05). 2) The human plasma ${\beta}$-endorphin concentrations were noted to significantly increase during the period after laser photobiostimulation (p<0.05).
