전자식 전력량계의 수명평가 (Lifetime Assessment of Electronic Watt-hour Meters)

  • Recently mechanical watt-hour meters are being replaced by electronic watt-hour meters. The replacement period of mechanical watt-hour meters is 7 years. This period is based on long term historical data. The replacement period of electronic watt-meters is also 7 years. This period is determined using the replacement period of mechanical watt-hour meters. However lifetime of mechanical watt-hour meters is different from the lifetime of electronic meters. In order to determine desirable replacement period of electronic watt-hour meters, accelerated life tests of major components in electronic watt-hour meters were performed. The test results showed that LCD was the component which had the shortest lifetime. In this paper, lifetime of electronic watt-hour meters manufactured by 3 company was estimated and life test standard for LCD was developed.

  • Pulsed Nd : YAG laser has been used to treat various soft tissue lesions. However, there have been warnings of using laser to treat peri-implantitis because the laser can alter the surface of implant and can rise its temperature so that it might be harmful to implant itself and its surrounding tissue. However, the study in vivo has not been done yet. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the biocompatibility to the pulsed Nd:YAG lased dental implant. 16 HA coated implants and 16 titanium plasma sprayed implants were used. They were divided 4 groups as unlased control, 0.3 watt, 1.0 watt and 2.0 watt lased groups after lasing. And they were implanted in the peritonial walls of 12 rabbits. The rabbits were sacrificed 6 weeks after implantation and the LM and EM specimems were made. 1. In the unlased implant group, both HA coated and titanium plasma sprayed implants were surrounded by fibroblasts and collagen fibers. No macrophages and inflammatory cells were seen. 2. In HA coated implants 0.3 watt, 1.0 watt lased group had a little inflammation, but in 2.0 watt lased group had scattered macrophages, a significantly larger number of chronic imflammatory cells were seen. 3. In titanium plasma sprayed implant 0.3 watt, 1.0 watt lased group had a little inflammation, but in 2.0 watt group had severe inflammation as in the conditions of HA coated group. 4. The inflammatory reaction of both lased HA coated and titanium plasma sprayed implant groups increased as the increase of the power of the laser.

  • A high bandwidth watt-converter, based on an inexpensive, commercially available, standard IC package, is described that covers a frequency ranges from DC to 100 kHz. The new resistive shunt for a wide-band frequency current measurement of the watt-converter was developed. The converter will use application in accurate power measurement under distorted and high frequency conditions. The advantages of the watt-converter are its simplicity, low cost and fast response time.

  • 본 논문에서는 UHF(470∼806 MHz) 대역에서 전송장치로 사용 가능한 DTV 중계기용 1 Watt 급 구동증폭단을 설계 및 제작하였다. 구동증폭단은 유전율 2.53, 두께 0.8 mm 기판을 사용하여, 전치증폭기 및 1 Watt 단위증폭기를 단일기판상에 집적화 하였다. 바이어스 전압 28 V DC, 전류 900 mA를 구동증폭단에 인가하였을 때, 470∼806 MHz의 대역에서 53.5 dB 이상의 이득, $\pm$0.5 dB의 이득 평탄도 및 -12 dB 이하의 입ㆍ출력 반사손실이 나타났다. 또한 출력전력이 1 Watt일 때 사용주파수 대역에서 2 MHz 주파수 간격의 두 신호를 구동증폭단에 입력하여 설계사양보다 우수한 48 dBc 이상의 상호변조왜곡 특성이 나타남을 알 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, a 100 Watt high power amplifier has been implemented and performed evaluation, which is operating at UHF band ($470\;{\sim}\;806\;MHz$) for Digital TV repeater. To achieve increase of bandwidth and high power capability, 3-way power combiner and divider of Wilkinson type was adopted. In order to measure the fabricated 100 Watt power amplifier, the estimation technique function which makes equivalent mask was used. As a result of the measurement, the existence of pilot signal is confirmed and the signal transmitted at the rated output power 100 Watt is brought out the flat feature through 6 MHz bandwidth. and it resulted that its value was less than -47 dB at the edge of radiation channel and less than -110 dB at more than 6 MHz position from channel edge.

Golf Club Head용 감나무재의 Microwave 건조 (I) - 30mm 판재의 건조경과와 온도변화 - (Microwave Drying of Persimmon Lumbers for Golf Club Head (I) - Drying Curves and Temperature Distribution of 30mm Thick Lumbers -)

  • Persimmon boards of 30mm thick were dried, their temperatures were monitored during drying with 490 and 200watt microwave, and the drying efficacy and problems were investigated. The effects of pretreatments such as presteaming and prefreezing were also examined. The persimmon green lumbers of 80% moisture content were dried to 10% for only 50~60 and 110 minutes with 49watt and 200watt microwave, respectively. Severe internal checks were, however, found in all boards. The presteamed boards collapsed on their surfaces earlier than the controls. It may attribute to the high temperature inside boards during microwave drying and the decrease of their internal tensile strength caused by the presteaming treatment. To increase the internal tensile strength of the pretreated boards and to reduce their internal checks, they were air-dried at room temperature. The air-dried boards could be dried to 10% moisture content clearly and free from defects with 200watt microwave. The heating efficiency were also calculated with the maximum weight loss per minute of 490watt and 200watt.

배전원격관리를 위한 차세대 디지털 적산전력계 개발 (Development of ADWHM(Advanced Digital Watt-Hour Meter) for Remote Management of Distribution Systems)

  • This paper develops an ADWHM(Advanced Digital Watt-Hour Meter) which integrates and implements the voltage management data record function and the load management data record function in the electronic watt-hour meter. ADWHM is developed based on PIC16F874 which is 8bit micro-controller of RISK type for the easy of programing and maintenance, and electronic power signal processing module is located at front of it to reduce the computing load of processor. Also, a 16kbyte EEPROM is used to record the voltage management data and load management data for a week as well as watt-hour data and USART communication mode is used to transfer data from ADWHM to PC. The accuracy of the voltage and unt measuring for ADWHM is verified by identifying the LCD display values of the ADWHM after the voltage signals of id levels from digital function generator is applied to PT(Potential Transformer) and CT(Current Transformer) output under state which it is separated from real power line. On the its basic functions such as watt-hour data recording function, voltage management data recording function and load management data recording function was verified by showing data for three days among the collected data to PC by RS232C communication from ADWHM which was connected to real power lines for a week.

질량신정의 구현을 위한 NPL 와트발란스 나이프에지의 기계적 특성 분석 (An Analysis of the Mechanical Characteristics of the Knife Edges used in the NPL Watt Balance)

  • Of the seven base units of the international system of units, only the kilogram is still defined in terms of a material artifact. One of the experimental approaches opening the way to a new definition of the kilogram is the watt balance To improve the performance of the NPL watt balance, we need to quantify and reduce hysteresis effects in the balance knives. In this paper, we discuss the mechanical characteristics of the knife edges used in the NPL watt balance. The hysteresis mechanism is analyzed using the finite element method. It is found that the cause of hysteresis is not normal stress but shear, and the deformation of the flat, rather than the knife, is an important factor in the hysteresis mechanism. The study presented here, using finite element analysis, suggests that parameters such as material property, tip radius and knife straightness can be more important than others, such as friction coefficient, tip angle, etc.

  • Owing to the consistent increase in accurate analysis issue for energy consumption of the AC electric railway systems, there is controversy about the adequacy of the present watt-hour metering configuration. Due to the unusual load characteristics and facilities, the discussions have not been active. Therefore, in order to achieve more accurate watt-hour metering for AC electric railway system, this paper proposes numerical formulas for watt-hour metering that reflects the highly-varying characteristics of the railway load and the structural characteristics of the Scott transformer. The proposed formulas have been verified by comparison with site-measured data, and a more suitable metering configuration for AC railway system has been proposed.
