Based on the fact that audio signals in the time domain have the generalized Gaussian distribution. an optimal parameter estimation of the ML (maximum likelihood) test based audio watermark decoder. which leads to the minimal bit error rate, is Proposed. Its superiority of performance over the existing estimation and the conventional correlation based decoder is demonstrated experimentally.
A novel audio watermark design using Hilbert transform is proposed, and its superiority of performance over the existing design using the absolute values of the audio signal is demonstrated experimentally with measurements of bit error rate (BER) in correlation based decoder. This paper proposes a new watermarking algorithm to embed watermarks in thr process of sample adaptive offsets (SAO) for high efficiency video coding (HEVC) compressed videos. The proposed method embeds two-bit watermark into the SAO offsets for each coding tree unit (CTU). To minimize visual quality degradation caused by embedding watermark, watermark bits are embedded into SAO offset depending on the SAO types of block. Furthermore, the embedded watermark can be extracted by simply adding four offsets and checking their least significant bits (LSB) at the decoder side. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieves 0.3% BD-rate increase without much visual quality degradation. Two-bit watermark for each CTU is embedded for more bit watermarking. In addition, the proposed method requires negligible computational load for watermark insertion and extraction.

This paper describes a study on developing an insert and detect system of digital watermark to the MPEG-2 coder and decoder. Digital watermark inserting system substitutes a coefficient among the DCT coefficients for new one. This replacement performs in MPEG-2 PS format. Watermark detecting system analyzes the input data stream of MPEG-2 and detect the probability of occurrence of a specific code or watermarking code. Our inserting system had very high invisibility and the PSNR of the results was 130 dB around. And our detection rate of watermark was over 99% in digital format and over 85% in analog captured format according to the quality of contents.
This paper proposes an information hiding algorithm using channel coding technique which can be used to detect transmission errors and to protect copyright for MPEG-2 video The watermark signal is generated by applying copyright information of video data to a convolutional encoder, and the signal is embedded into macro blocks in every frame while encoding to MPEG-2 video stream In the decoder, the embedded signal is detected from macro blocks in every frame, and the detected signal is used to localize transmission errors in the video stream. The detected signal can also be used to claim ownership of the video data by decoding it to the copyright Information. In this stage, errors in the detected watermark signal can be corrected by channel decoder. The 3 video sequences which consist of 300 frames each are applied to the proposed MPEG-2 codec. Experimental results show that the proposed method can detect transmission errors in the video stream while decoding and it can also reconstruct copyright information more correctly than the conventional method.
Most watermarking schemes for video contents protection have been studied to increase watermark's robustness and invisibility against such compressions and many kinds of signal processing after embedding copyright information to the original contents. This paper proposes an active watermarking that infect watermark to contents in the video decoding process using embedded infectious watermark and control signals from a video encoder side. To achieve this algorithm, we design a kernel based watermarking in video encoder side that is possible to recover the original contents and watermark in watermark detection procedure perfectly. And then, by reversible de-watermarking in video decoder side, we design the active watermark infection method using detected watermark and control signal. This means that our system can provide secure re-distributions of video contents without any quality degration and watermark bit error against transcoding or re-encoding processing. By experimental results, we confirmed that the embedded watermark was infected by video contents and codec perfectly without any declines of compression ratio and video quality.
The infectious information hiding system(IIHS) is proposed for secure distribution of high quality video contents by applying optimized watermark embedding and detection algorithms to video codecs. And the watermark as infectious information is transmitted while target video is displayed or edited by codecs. This paper proposes a fast and effective reversible watermarking and infectious information generation for IIHS. Our reversible watermarking scheme enables video decoder to control video quality and watermark strength actively for by adding control code and expiration date with the watermark. Also, we designed our scheme with low computational complexity to satisfy it's real-time processing in a video codec, and to prevent time or frame delay during watermark detection and video restoration, we embedded one watermark and one side information within a macro-block. Experimental results verify that our scheme satisfy real-time watermark embedding and detection and watermark error is 0% after reversible watermark detection. Finally, we conform that the quality of restored video contens is almost same with compressed video without watermarking algorithm.
In this paper, a new approach is proposed for the error detection dedicated to MPEG-4 video coding by using the digital watermarking. In the process of encoding, the proposed scheme abstracts the macroblock features of headers, motion vectors, and Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) coefficients, which are embedded in the quantized DCT coefficients as the digital watermarks. The decoder performs the accurate error detection through the watermark extraction. Simulation results demonstrate that the error detection ability of the proposed approach can be significantly enhanced, and that digital watermark embedding incurs little degradation to the picture quality.
The Davey-MacKay construction is a promising concatenated coding scheme involving an outer $2^k$-ary code and an inner code of rate k/n, for insertion-deletion-substitution channels. Recently, a lookup table (LUT)-based inner decoder for this coding scheme was proposed to reduce the computational complexity of the inner decoder, albeit at the expense of a slight degradation in word error rate (WER) performance. In this letter, we show that negligible deterioration in WER performance can be achieved with an LUT as small as $7{\cdot}2^{k+n-1}$, but no smaller, when the probability of receiving less than n-1 or greater than n+1 bits corresponding to one outer code symbol is at least an order of magnitude smaller than the WER when no LUT is used.

There are channel errors when video data are transmitted between encoder and decoder. These channel errors would make decoded image incorrect, so it is very important to detect and recover channel errors. This paper proposes a method of error detection and recovery by hiding specific information into video bitstream using fragile watermark and checking it later. The proposed method requires no additional bits into compressed bitstream since it embeds a user-specific data pattern in the least significant bits of LEVELs in VLC codewords. The decoder can extract the information to check whether the received bitstream has an error or not. We also propose to use this method to embed essential data such as motion vectors that can be used for error recovery. The proposed method can detect corrupted MBs that usually escape the conventional syntax-based error detection scheme. This proposed method is quite simple and of low complexity. So the method can be applied to multimedia communication system in low bitrate wireless channel.
