  • 본 논문은 Water Shed 알고리듬을 이용하여 여러 공들 중에 숨어있는 공을 찾는 것으로써 실재적인 목적은 Water Shed 알고리듬의 한계를 집어보고 분석해 보고자 함이다. 이로써 세포 분석이나 농산물 관련된 분야에서 사용되던 기존의 Water Shed의 문제점을 보완하는 계기가 될 것이다. 본 연구는 Visual Studio C++을 사용하여 구현해 보았으며, Distance Transform 및 Labelling 등의 알고리듬이 추가로 사용되었다.

  • Reaction by neighbours to odours is increasingly affecting operations of existing animal farming operations and may adversely constrain the further development of the animal production industry in some parts of Australia. It is critical that the scale of such odour impact on the rural-urban interface be estimated to provide useful information both for environmental protection and animal farming operations. Furthermore, the information can be used to modify odour reduction strategies as economic conditions change. The Centre for Water and Waste Technology at The University of New South Wales has developed a comprehensive set of odour control techniques in the course of its research and development effort over the past eight years. Techniques have been developed for odour sampling at point, area and volume sources, monitoring environmental parameters such as ventilation rate, shed temperature, shed humidity, litter water content and ambient meteorological condition, olfactometry and odour dispersion modelling. The work has paved the way for the establishment of odour reduction strategies based on best environmental management practice and advanced odour abatement technologies.

Effect of Blood Contamination on Vickers Microhardness and Surface Morphology of Mineral Trioxide Aggregate

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of blood contamination on the Vickers hardness and the surface morphology of premixed MTA and compare them with the effects on conventional MTA. The Vickers microhardness of Endocem MTA Premixed Regular (EP) and ProRoot MTA (PM) was assessed after immersion in fetal bovine serum (FBS) and saline. Stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHED) were seeded on MTA after immersion in FBS, saline, and deionized water (DW). Cell adhesion patterns and surface morphology were visualized via scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The surface microhardness of EP and PM in FBS was lower than in saline. However, short-term exposure of PM to FBS did not reduce the microhardness compared to saline. Angular crystals formed in water, while rounded crystals with more air voids appeared in FBS. Favorable SHED attachment occurred in all groups. Overall, the surface hardness of EP and PM decreased after FBS exposure, although PM was less influenced. We suggest minimizing the amount of bleeding when using MTA clinically; nevertheless, PM remains an option with more expected blood contamination than EP. In summary, exposure to FBS decreased mechanical performance but allowed cell adhesion for both MTAs, with PM being more resistant to these changes.

이전고환극구흡충(Echinostoma cinitorchis)의 cercaria 유출 및 수종 어류에의 cercaria 감염 실험 (Cercarial shedding of Echinostoma cinetoychis and experimental infection of the cercariae to several kinds of snails)

  • 실험실에서 사육한 수종 패류를 이용하여 Echinostoma cinetorchis의 생활환을 형성시키 며 발육과정을 관찰하였다. 성충체(흰쥐에서 얻음)에서 분리한 충란을 배양하여 miracidium을 얻고 제 1중간숙주인 Hippeutis sp. 우렁이에 20개씩 감염시킨 바 58.3%(12개 중 7)는 cercaria 유출 전에 감염사하였고 나머지는 25일 째부터 7∼9일간 cercaria를 유출하였다. 이 cercaria를 수종의 패류에 접촉감염(패당 40∼50마리)시켰더니 피낭유충 형성은 Hippeutis sp.에서 100%(접촉 cercaria에 대한 피낭 비율은 56.7%), Radix auricuzaria coreana 100% (66.4%), Phyla acute 66.7% (37.3%) 및 자연산 Cipangopaludina sp. 50% (8%) 감염으로 전 실험 패류가 피낭유충을 형성하였다. Cercaria는 침입시 노출부인 두부, 족부에 부착한 후 포복하여 외투강 내로 이행하며, 패 체내의 피낭부위는 외투막, 원체강내, 내부 기관 및 조직 사이였다. 그리고 이를 흰쥐에 감염시켜 성충을 검출할 수 있었다. 이상의 결과로 한국에 있어서 E. cinetorchis의 주요 인체 감염원 역할을 할 것으로 믿어지는 논우렁이(Cipnngopaludina sp.)에 있어서 피낭유충 형성을 확인할 수 있었고 이 극구흡충은 타종(특히 E. hortense)과 달리 여러 담수 패류가 제2중간숙주 역할을 하고 있음을 확인하였다.

GIS/RS를 이용한 3개의 대표 시설물별 폭설 취약지역 추출기법 연구 (Extraction of Heavy Snowfall Vulnerable Area for 3 Representative Facilities Using GIS and Remote Sensing Techniques)

  • 본 연구에서는 기상관측소의 적설심 자료와 Terra MODIS 위성영상을 이용하여, 3가지 대표시설물(원예특작물시설, 축사, 건축물)에 대한 적설 설계기준 취약지역을 분석하였다. 현재 적용되고 있는 시설물의 적설 설계강도 기준을 평가하고 폭설 취약지역을 분석하기 위해, 과거 12년간(2001~2012년) 수집된 Terra MODIS 위성영상에서 추출된 적설면적과 적설심 자료를 이용하여 전국 적설심 분포도를 작성하였다. 또한 전국지역별 원예특작물시설의 설계기준 적설심(cm), 축사 설계기준 적설하중($kg/m^2$), 건축물 설계기준 적설하중($kN/m^2$) 자료를 수집하여, MODIS 위성영상에 의해 구축된 적설심 분포도와 비교하여 적설 설계강도 기준 취약지역을 분석한 결과 전라도, 충청도 및 강원도 지역이 취약한 것으로 분석되었다.

HOUSING AND MANAGEMENT OF DAIRY CATTLE IN SMALL SCALE FARMS OF EAST JAVA, IN INDONESIA

  • A study on housing and management of dairy cows was conducted in three villages. All activities of husbandry related to the housing and the condition of the cows were observed and farmers were interviewed using a questionnaire. The main type of housing was a tie stall mostly in the back yard area with a gable or shed type roof. Inside the shed the temperature ranged from 17 to $29^{\circ}C$ and the relative humidity ranged from 62 to 73%. Drainage and manure handling was poor which lead to poor cleanliness of the stables and animal skins. The floor space was mostly wide and the roof level was low (less than 2.5 m). The slope of the floor (1-3%) was sufficient, the roughness of the floor was of medium quality. The shape and size of the feed trough was good with a surface of mostly irregular forms. Concentrate was mixed with water and offered in liquid form in pails made from plastic or from parts of rubber car tires. Hoof length was too long which could lead to unstable position and self injury. It is concluded that the housing conditions of dairy cattle need to be improved in order to improve the condition of the animals and the production performance.

Effect of Thermal Stress on Sexual Behaviour of Superovulated Bharat Merino Ewes

  • The present study was undertaken to study the effect of thermal stress on sexual behaviour of superovulated ewes. Fourteen adult Bharat Merino ewes with an average body weight of 29.4${\pm}$2.34 kg were randomly allocated into two groups of 7 each. All the animals were grazed on natural pasture in the morning and evening hours and housed in shed during night. Animals of Group-1 were housed in shed from 10:00 to 16:00 h while the animals of Group-2 were exposed to thermal stress in a hot chamber ($40^{\circ}C$ /6 h/day). All the animals were offered drinking water once a day at 16:30 h. Meteorological observations i.e. dry bulb, wet bulb, minimum and maximum temperature were recorded daily inside the shed as well as in hot chamber throughout the experimental period. For superovulation of animals, standard protocol developed at the Institute, using FSH (Ovagen 5.4 mg in eight injections) and PMSG (200 IU) was followed. Various sexual behaviour parameters (circling, tail fanning, head turning, standing and approaching to ram) and estrus incidence (onset of estrus and estrus duration) were observed in both the groups. The different estrus symptoms were graded subjectively on arbitrary scale of 0-5 where 0 representing no sexual behaviour (0%) and 5 representing maximum intensity in sexual behaviour (100%). Estrus was detected with the help of a marked aproned ram of proven vigor at six hourly intervals. The average percent values for sexual behaviour parameters recorded in Group-1 and Group-2 animals were 53.7${\pm}$3.76 vs. 41.1${\pm}$2.18 for circling, 71.8${\pm}$5.42 vs. 49.0${\pm}$4.41 for tail fanning, 64.7${\pm}$3.30 vs. 44.5${\pm}$4.34 for head turning, 90.1${\pm}$3.16 vs. 75.8${\pm}$4.02 for standing and 63.8${\pm}$4.8 vs. 41.9${\pm}$4.58 for approaching to ram. Animals exposed to thermal stress had significantly lower values of these sexual behaviour parameters. The animals kept in shed exhibited estrus earlier (25.4${\pm}$1.12 h) and duration was higher (37.7${\pm}$1.59 h) as compared to animals exposed to thermal stress i.e. 30.6${\pm}$1.16 h and 31.7${\pm}$3.57 h, respectively. The findings of the study indicate that thermal stress reduces the intensity of sexual behaviour in ewes and may result in failure of the animal to mate and conceive.

전남지방에서 쯔쯔가무시병 숙주와 매개체의 서식환경 조사 (Environmental survey on the vectors and hosts of Tsutsugamushi disease in Jeonnam province, Korea)

  • Tsutsugamushi disease or scrub typhus cause by Orientia tsutsugamushi is an endemic disease in Korea. Chigger mites and field rodents play roles in transmission of the disease by the vector and host of the agent. The purpose of this study is to investigate the density of the chigger mites and field rodents due to environmental factors such as temperature, relative humidity, soil thickness and the various vegetations to the 9 field rodent collection sites. The total 62 field rodents was captured by the Sherman collapsible traps from April to October 2009 at the Jangseong of Jeonnam Province, Korea. The trapping rate of the field rodents by the different collecting sites was dominant at subside storage water (24%), bush near by dam (22%), bank around field (20%), followed by 18% of grassy field and surround cattle shed. The distribution of chigger mites by the different collecting sites was the highest at Bush near by dam (28.7%). And the sites of subside storage water, bank around field and surround cattle shed were 20.4%, 18.8%, 16.4%, respectively. On the other hand the collecting sites of stream bank and ridges between rice paddies were not collected. The temperature to the collecting sites was showed $24.1^{\circ}C$ in June and $24.2^{\circ}C$ in October which was higher than April ($10.6^{\circ}C$), whereas lower than May ($25.3^{\circ}C$) and September ($26.8^{\circ}C$). The highest number of mites was collected at $24.2^{\circ}C$ and 46.6% relative humidity in October. The chigger mites and field rodents were highly collected between 18 and 24% at the sites where are loosely in the superficial layers of the soil from 8.0 cm to 10.2 cm. Total 25 species of vegetation were distributed at the collecting sites. In the present study, strong evidence was found that bank around field and grassy field were provided for the prevalence sites of tsutsugamushi disease.

Fibricolu seoulensis의 생활사 및 유충의 발육 (The Life Cycle and Larval Development of Fibricoza seoulensis (Trematoda: Diplostomatidae))

  • 실험실내에서 충란 및 제 1중간숙주와 제 2중간숙주내에서 F. seoulensis 유충의 발육과정을 관찰하고 자연 상태에서의 생활사를 연구하고자 하였다. 충란을 $^{\circ}C$ 물에서 배양한 제 9일에 miracidium이 난개를 열고 나왔다. Miracidium은 원통 세장형으로 2쌍의 Blame cell과 측방돌기가 있었고 epidermal plate의 배열식은 6,9,4및 3이었다. Hippeutis (Helicorbis) cantori 패류에서는 실험감염 후 제13일에 furcocercous cercaria가 유출되었으나 Physa acute에서는 cercaria가 유출되지 않았다. 논에서 채집한 H. cantori에서는 같은 형태의 furcocercous cercaria가 유출되었다. Cercaria에는 2쌍의 침입선과 5쌍의 화염세포가 있었다. 참개구리의 을챙이(Rana nigromaculnta)는 cercaria 실험감염에 대하여 감수성이 있었으며 채집된 참개구리의 올챙이들은 F. seoulensis의 피낭유충에 자연감염되어 있었다. 실험감염 후 올챙이에서 피낭유충은 21일 이내에 종숙주에 대하여 감염능력을 갖게 되었다. 대부분의 피낭유충은 올챙이의 체강내에서 피낭을 형성하지 않고 있었으며 쥐의 소장에서 7일만에 성충이 되었다. 본 연구를 통하여 F. seoulensis의 모든 생활사가 밝혀지게 되었으며 또 실험실내에서 전 생활사를 완료시킬 수 있다는 것을 알게 되었다.
