남강 중권역의 효율적인 유역관리를 위한 중점관리 대상지류 선정 (Selection of Priority Management Target Tributary for Effective Watershed Management in Nam-River Mid-watershed)

  • The major 24 tributaries in Nam-River mid-watershed were monitored for discharge and water quality in order to understand the characteristics of the watershed and to select the tributary catchment for improving water quality. According to the analytical results of discharge and water quality monitoring data of 24 tributaries, the mean value of discharge below $0.1m^3/s$ was 62.5% among the monitored tributaries and it mostly exceeded the water quality standards of Nam-river mid-watershed ($BOD_5$ = 3 mg/L, T-P = 0.1 mg/L over). According to the stream grouping method and the water quality delivery load density ($kg/day/km^2$) based on the results of tributary discharge and water quality monitoring, the tributary watersheds for improving the water quality were selected. In the Nam-River mid-watershed, tributaries in the GaJwaCheon, HaChonCheon catchment (Group D, $BOD_5$ = 3 mg/L over) and in the UirYeongCheon, SeokGyoCheon catchment (Group A, T-P = 0.1 mg/L over), which have a small flow (and/or large flow) and a high concentrations of water pollutants. The various water quality improving scheme for tributaries, in accordance with the reduction of potential point source pollution by living sewage and livestock wastewater, should be established and implemented.

데이터마이닝 기법을 적용한 취수원 수질예측모형 평가 (Evaluation of Water Quality Prediction Models at Intake Station by Data Mining Techniques)

  • For the efficient discovery of knowledge and information from the observed systems, data mining techniques can be an useful tool for the prediction of water quality at intake station in rivers. Deterioration of water quality can be caused at intake station in dry season due to insufficient flow. This demands additional outflow from dam since some extent of deterioration can be attenuated by dam reservoir operation to control outflow considering predicted water quality. A seasonal occurrence of high ammonia nitrogen ($NH_3$-N) concentrations has hampered chemical treatment processes of a water plant in Geum river. Monthly flow allocation from upstream dam is important for downstream $NH_3$-N control. In this study, prediction models of water quality based on multiple regression (MR), artificial neural network and data mining methods were developed to understand water quality variation and to support dam operations through providing predicted $NH_3$-N concentrations at intake station. The models were calibrated with eight years of monthly data and verified with another two years of independent data. In those models, the $NH_3$-N concentration for next time step is dependent on dam outflow, river water quality such as alkalinity, temperature, and $NH_3$-N of previous time step. The model performances are compared and evaluated by error analysis and statistical characteristics like correlation and determination coefficients between the observed and the predicted water quality. It is expected that these data mining techniques can present more efficient data-driven tools in modelling stage and it is found that those models can be applied well to predict water quality in stream river systems.

Landsat TM 영상에 의한 호수의 수질인자 추출 (Water Quality Elements Extraction of Lake by the Landsat TM Images)

  • 수질오염 현상을 규명하기 위해서는 지속적으로 호수의 수질을 조사할 필요가 있는데 이것은 시간과 경비가 많이 소요될 뿐만 아니라 광범위한 지역을 조사하기가 상당히 어렵다. 그러나 인공위성에 의한 원격탐사 기법은 동시에 넓은 지역에 걸쳐 수질상태를 측정할 수 있고 또한 주기적으로 동일 지점을 측정할 수 있기 때문에 수질을 조사하는데 효과가 크다. 또한 Landsat의 센서들 중에는 파장별로 물체를 감지하는 특성이 있어서 수질의 분포를 단시간내에 비교적 정확하게 확인해 낼 수 있으며 그 영상을 Color로 표현하는 것이 가능하다. 따라서 본 연구는 인공위성 자료를 이용하여 투명도, 수심, 표층수온 등 수질인자 추출을 시도하고 그에 따른 수질인자 실험식을 제시하여 화진포호의 수질분포 영상도를 작성하였다. Landsat TM 영상의 DN으로부터 수질인자를 추출하고 이것을 다시 GIS를 이용하여 TIN분석을 한 후 수질분포 영상도를 작성하면 실제 관측하여 얻어진 값을 이용하여 나타낸 것 보다 광범위한 지역에 대하여 비교적 정확한 패턴임을 알 수 있다.

인공강우를 이용한 축종별 축분퇴비침출수의 수질특성 조사 (Assessment of Leachate Characteristics of Manure Compost under Rainfall Simulation)

  • Animal manure and manure compost produced from livestock farms are widely applied in crop lands. Leachate and runoff water from them are presumed to be one of the major sources of water quality deterioration in rural streams. Laboratory experiments were conducted to investigate water quality characteristics and loading of leachate obtained under rainfall simulation. Manure composts for the experiments were collected from beef cattle farms, dairy farms, and pig farms. Water quality parameters include SS, COD, TN, and TP. Most parameters of leachate from pig manure compost was higher than others. Both TN and TP concentrations were reflecting the composition of manure itself. It is recommended, therefore that the leachate from the manure composts should be controlled not to be discharged into streams.

클로렐라를 첨가한 설기떡의 품질특성 (Quality Characteristics of Sulgidduk Containing Chlorella Powder)

  • 생리 활성 효과가 기대되며 영양학적 가치가 높은 클로렐라를 실용적으로 활용하는 방안의 일환으로 클로렐라 설기떡을 제조하고 품질 특성 및 적정 제조조건을 알아보았다. 클로렐라 설기떡은 첨가되는 물의 양을 15%와 20% 수준으로 나누고 클로렐라 분말의 첨가량을 달리하여 (0%, 0.2%, 0.5%, 1%) 제조하였으며 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 기계적 조직감의 검사 결과, 15%의 물을 첨가하여 설기떡을 제조할 경우는 대조군에 비해 클로렐라 첨가군에서 경도, 씹힘성, 파쇄성 등이 증가하고 부착성이 감소하여 조직감이 감소하지만, 20%의 물을 첨가하여 만든 설기떡의 경우는 대조군에 비해 클로렐라 첨가군에서 경도, 씹힘성, 파쇄성 등이 감소하고 응집성, 부착성 등이 증가하여 조직감의 개선효과가 나타났다. 또한 24시간 저장 후에도 대조군에 비해 좋은 조직감을 유지하였다. 클로렐라 설기떡을 제조한 후 중량변화를 살펴본 결과, 대조군에 비해 클로렐라의 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 설기떡의 중량도 증가하였다 이러한 결과는 클로렐라 첨가에 의해 설기떡의 수분 보유량이 증가하기 때문인 것으로 추정된다. 색도측정 결과 클로렐라 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 L값은 감소하고 a 값은 음(-)의 값이 커져 녹색이 강해짐을 알 수 있었다. 20%의 물을 첨가하여 제조한 클로렐라 설기떡의 관능검사 결과 클로렐라 첨가에 의해 경도와 색에 대한 기호도가 높아졌다. 그러나 1%의 클로렐라를 첨가할 경우 향과 종합평가에 대한 기호도가 떨어지는 것으로 나타났다.

강우에 의한 중랑천의 수질 특성 변화 연구 (Hydrochemical Characteristics and Changes by Rainfall in the Jungrang River)

  • Effects of a rainfall event (July 28, 2005) on the hydrochemical characteristics of the Jungrang river, the biggest tributary of the Han river, was investigated. Significant spatial variations in the hydrochemical characteristics were observed. At JR2 location, concentrations of T-N and T-P were relatively low indicating occurrence of active oxidation in the stepped drop structure. At JR3 location, concentrations of Na, K, Cl, $NH_4-N$ and EC were elevated suggesting increased discharge from the nearby waste-water treatment plant and tributaries. The rain event diluted major dissolved ion concentrations in the river by 12~52%. The $NO_3-N$ levels were preserved during the rain then increased about twofold after rainfall, suggesting increased discharge of nitrate-contaminated groundwater. Heavy metals including Cd, Co, Cr, Cu and Pb were not detected in all water samples and the leachates from surface sediment samples. Concentrations of Fe, Mn, Al and Zn were below the Korean Drinking Water Guideline. Results of this study suggested that establishment of water-quality monitoring protocols describing temporal and spatial variations in parameters sensitive to rainfall events, relatively steady factors, and contaminant sources is required.

한국 동해연안의 수질 평가 (Water Quality Assessment at Coastal Area of the East Sea of Korea)

  • 동해연안의 수질특성 및 상태를 파악하기 위하여 2004년부터 2010년까지의 국가해양환경측정망 조사결과를 이용하여 수질인자의 거동을 분석하였다. 본 연구에서는 통계적 방법을 이용한 수질인자간의 상관관계 및 주성분 분석을 통하여 해역별 수질환경 특성을 파악하였으며, OECD의 부영양화 기준과 부영양도, 그리고 유기오염도 지수의 산정으로 해역별 오염상태를 평가하였다. 수질인자간의 주성분 분석에서 동해연안은 클로로필 a와 염분이 주요인자로 설명되는 2개의 요인으로 구분되었다. 해역별로는 죽변을 경계로 남부와 중부로 분류되었으며, 동해 중부 해역에서는 죽변, 그리고 남부해역에서는 감포연안이 별도로 분류되었다. 동해연안의 영양상태는 Oligotrophic~Mesotrophic 수준으로 구분되었으며, 부영양화도는 1 이하로 평가되었다. 유기오염지수는 동해연안 전 해역에서 양호한 수질상태로서 평가되었다.

부등류해석을 이용한 QUAL2E 모형의 개선 (Improvement of QUAL2E Model using Nonuniform Flow Analysis)

  • Recently, as water pollution accidents in rivers have increased, there is an increased interest in water quality forecast with accurate simulation. QUAL2E model, widely used for water quality analysis, uses the same hydraulic characteristics, such as depth and velocity, in a reach. The flow of the river is changed by various hydraulic constructions or by topography in a real river channel. In this study, a hydraulic connection module is developed to consider flow variations of river channels in QUAL2E model. The module uses the simulations results of non-uniform flow of a 1-D hydraulic model such as DWOPER or HEC-RAS. The improved QUAL2E model with this module was applied to a downstream section of Paldang Dam on the Han River. The results show the variation of water quality very well in a reach where flowing vary abruptly, like the Jamsil submerged weir.

다변량통계분석을 이용한 수질오염총량관리 단위유역별 오염물질 배출특성 분석 - 한강수계를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Spatial Strength and Cluster Analysis at the Unit Watershed for the Management of Total Maximum Daily Loads)

  • The characteristic of the water quality and pollutant discharge was analyzed at the units watershed of the total amount management in Han-river basin, and after classified in a similar area by multivariate statistical analysis, the main trend such as the water quality trend and pollutant discharge characteristic were analyzed. As a result of this study, the density of the pollutant at the unit watershed is not necessarily identified as discharge density, and the primary management watershed and targeted substances were analyzed depending on the operating status of the environmental infrastructure in watershed and the main pollution factor and discharge path per pollutants. As a result of cluster analysis, watersheds were classified into four groups according to discharge characteristics. It will be used when selecting target area of primary management that is appropriate to the characteristics of each river and establishing efficient water quality improvement plans.

온천천 하류 적조 원인생물의 동정 및 발생 특성 (Identification of Red Tide-causing Organism and Characteristics of Red Tide Occurrence in the Oncheon Down Stream, Busan)

  • This study was performed in order to identify the red tide-causing organism and to understand the characteristics of the water quality during the winter of 2015 and 2016 in the Oncheon stream, a tidal river in Busan, where red tide often occurs in the wintertime. Two sites were selected on the stream and the surface water was sampled a total of 28 times during the experimental period. Twelve water quality characteristics, including water temperature, pH, DO, COD, total-N (T-N), total-P (T-P), and salinity were analyzed in order to test water quality. The cell numbers of cryptomonads were counted directly by microscopic observation. The nucleotide sequences of the partial 28S rRNA gene and psbA gene from metagenomic DNA, derived from each sampling site, were analyzed. According to the results, the alga most responsible for the bloom was identified as Teleaulax OC1 sp., which belongs to the cryptomonads. Three items of chl-a, pH, and DO were positively correlated with the cell numbers of the cryptomonads counted at the upper stream of the tidal area (St 1) while eight items of chl-a, TOC, BOD, total-N, COD, SS, pH, and DO were positively correlated with the cells located at the junction between the stream and Su-young river (St 2) in the order.
