용액 처방으로부터 록소프로펜의 기니아픽 피부 투과 증진 (Enhanced Penetration of Loxoprofen across Excised Guinea Pig Skin from Solution Formulations)

  • To develop a novel transdermal delivery system of loxoprofen (LP), a potent antiinflammatory and analgesic agent, the effects of various vehicles and penetration enhancers on the skin permeation of LP from solution formulations were investigated. The permeation rate of LP through excised guinea pig skin was measured using a side-by-side permeation system at $32^{\circ}C$. The solubilities of LP in various vehicles were determined by the equilibrium solubility method, and partition coefficients $(P_c)$ were determined. The solubility of LP increased in the rank order of water & isopropyl myristate (IPM) & glyceryl dicaprylate/dicaprate & propylene glycol dicaprylate/caprate & propylene glycol laurate (PGL) & polyethylene glycol 400 & diethylene glycol monoethyl ether (DGME) & ethanol. n-Octanol-water $P_c$ value was 15.5. Among pure vehicles tested, IPM and PGL showed highest fluxes of $89.9{\pm}5.0$ and $45.4{\pm}0.3\;{\mu}g/cm^2/hr$ from saturated solutions, respectively. However, it was not possible to demonstrate any correlation between the solubility of LP and its permeation rate, indicating the change in the barrier property of the skin and/or carrier mechanisms by vehicles tested. The addition of DGME to IPM or PGL markedly increased the solubility of LP, but the permeation rate did not decrease when the concentration of DGME in the cosolvent was increased upto 40%. The addition of linoleic acid (3%) in the cosolvent slightly increased the permeation rate, but others such as lauroyl sarcosine, fatty alcohols and fatty acids tested did not show enhancing effect. In conclusion, the DGME-IPM or DGME-PGL cosolvent system proved to be a good vehicle to enhance the skin permeation of LP.

  • Transdermal therapeutic system(TTS) is often used as the method of drug dosage into the epidermic skin. Natural polymer were selected as ointment material of TTS. We investigated the permeation of natural polymer ointment containing drug in rat skin using horizontal membrane cell model. Permeation properties of materials were investigated for water-soluble drug such as Nicotinic acid N-oxide in vitro. These results showed that skin permeation rate of drug across the composite was mainly dependent on the property of ointment base and drug. Proper selection of the polymeric materials which resemble and enhance properties of the delivering drug was found to be important in controlling the skin permeation rate. This result suggests a possible use of natural polymer ointment base as TTS of antihyperlipoproteinemic agent.

오일/물 에멀젼의 분리막 투과 특성 (Membrane Filtration Characteristics of Oil/Water Emulsions)

  • 수용성 에멀젼형 절삭유의 한외여과 및 정밀여과 특성을 실험적으로 연구하였다. 한외여과막의 경우 오일/물 에멀젼의 투과 거동은 film model을 잘 따랐으나 정밀여과막인 ASYPOR막의 경우에는 이러한 거동을 벗어났다. 본 연구에서 사용된 모든 분리막의 경우 운전압력이 투과유속에는 큰 효과를 나타내지 않았다. 저압에서는 투과 초기 및 후기에서의 투과유속 감소율이 적은 반면 고압에서는 초기 투과유속은 매우 컸으나 투과유속의 감소율이 커서 후기에는 모두 비슷한 투과유속을 보여 주었다. 소수성이 큰 polycarbonate 정밀여과막의 경우 일반적인 경우와는 달리 운전시간이 증가함에 따라 투과유속이 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 교반하지 않은 cell에서의 임계투과압력은 150 ppm의 에멀젼 농도에서 약 $2.2kg_f/cm^2$이었으나 500 ppm의 농도에서는 $3.8kg_f/cm^2$ 압력에서 나타났다.

Improvement in the Negative Bias Stability on the Water Vapor Permeation Barriers on ZnO-based Thin Film Transistors

  • In recent days, advances in ZnO-based oxide semiconductor materials have accelerated the development of thin-film transistors (TFTs), which are the building blocks for active matrix flat-panel displays including liquid crystal displays (LCD) and organic light-emitting diodes (OLED). In particular, the development of high-mobility ZnO-based channel materials has been proven invaluable; thus, there have been many reports of high-performance TFTs with oxide semiconductor channels such as ZnO, InZnO (IZO), ZnSnO (ZTO), and InGaZnO (IGZO). The reliability of oxide TFTs can be improved by examining more stable oxide channel materials. In the present study, we investigated the effects of an ALD-deposited water vapor permeation barrier on the stability of ZnO and HfZnO (HZO) thin film transistors. The device without the water vapor barrier films showed a large turn-on voltage shift under negative bias temperature stress. On the other hand, the suitably protected device with the lowest water vapor transmission rate showed a dramatically improved device performance. As the value of the water vapor transmission rate of the barrier films was decreased, the turn-on voltage instability reduced. The results suggest that water vapor related traps are strongly related to the instability of ZnO and HfZnO TFTs and that a proper combination of water vapor permeation barriers plays an important role in suppressing the device instability.

방사선 조사 그라프트중합에 의한 폴리프로필렌 정밀여과막의 친수화 및 물 투과특성 (Hydrophilic Modification of Polypropylene Microfiltration Membrane by Radiation-Induced Graft Polymerization and Water Permeability)

  • 본 연구에서는 소수특성의 PP 정밀여과막에 방사선을 조사하여 친수성 모노머인 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA), acrylic acid(AAc) 및 methacrylic acid(MAAc)를 그라프트 중합하였다. 3가지 모노머에 대한 그라프트 중합반응에서 물/메탄올 혼합용매의 조성에 따라 그라프트율에 미치는 효과를 조사하였으며, 이에 대한 각 모노머의 농도에 따른 영향을 고찰하였다. 가장 높은 그라프트율을 얻는 용매조건은 AAc는 순수한 물에서, MAAc는 물/메탄올 혼합비가 50/50 vol %에서, 그리고 HEMA는 25/75 vol %이었다. 그라프트된 PP 다공성 분리막의 모노머 도입여부와 표면특성변화는 FTIR-ATR 및 SEM을 이용하여 관찰하였다. 또한 인장강도와 연신율을 측정하여 그라프트율에 따른 막의 기계적 특성을 평가하였다. 그라프트된 PP막은 본래의 PP막보다 물 투과속도가 증가하였으며, 물 투과에 적당한 모노머로 HEMA임을 알았고 99%의 그라프트율에서 가장 좋은 물 투과속도를 보였다. 또한 AAc가 그라프트된 PP막 및 MAAc가 그라프트된 PP막의 물 투과속도는 pH나 $Cu^{2+}$에 의해 크게 좌우되나 HEMA는 pH나 $Cu^{2+}$에 영향이 거의 없었다.

Buccal Transport of Paclitaxel using Ethanol and Glyceryl Monooleate

  • Paclitaxel (PTX) is an antineoplastic agent approved for the treatment of ovarian and breast carcinomas. However, the use of paclitaxel as an anticancer drug is limited by its extremely poor water solubility (below $0.3\;{\mu}g/mL$). Furthermore, it has very low bioavailability when administered orally because paclitaxel is a substrate of P-glycoprotein (P-gp) efflux pump. In this study, buccal delivery of PTX was investigated as one of the alternatives for PTX delivery. Ethanol and glyceryl monooleate (GMO) were selected as permeation enhancing agents to increase solubility and permeation across buccal mucosa of PTX. At the different concentrations of ethanol solution ($30{\sim}70\;w/w\;%$), PTX permeation was studied, followed effects of GMO in the concentration range of $2.5{\sim}25%$ with ethanol vesicle. The transbuccal ability of PTX was evaluated in vitro using Franz diffusion cells mounted with rabbit buccal mucosa. As a result, incorporation of PTX into ethanol vesicle with GMO significantly enhanced the PTX permeation in rabbit buccal mucosa. Particularly, the mixtures of ethanol:water:GMO at the ratio of 50:47.5:2.5 showed the most excellent enhancing ability. The results showed a promising possibility for buccal delivery of PTX.

A new method for measuring ultra-low water vapor permeation for OLED displays

  • It is well known that proper encapsulation is crucial for the lifetime of organic light emitting diode (OLED) displays. With the development of increasingly better barrier coatings and perimeter seals, it has now become very desirable to be able to precisely measure the rate of water vapor and oxygen permeation through barrier coatings and perimeter sealing. This paper demonstrates a new permeation measurement method that uses tritium-containing water (HTO) as a tracer material. The theoretical detection limit of this direct method is $2.4{\times}10^{-8}g/(m^2day)$.

제상과정 해석을 위한 눈의 융해거동에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Study on the Behavior of Snow Melting for the Analysis of Defrosting Procedure)

  • One dimensional numerical modeling was carried out for the melting behavior of dry snow and the unsaturated flow when heat was supplied from the bottom surface. Discrepancy between the previous experimental data and the present numerical results is substantially reduced by considering the density change of water permeation layer due to the infiltration of meltwater. In the parametric study for effective thermal conductivity, it was found that the effect of this parameter to the behavior of snow melting is minor. Sensitivity analysis showed that the melting time is most sensitive to changes in supplied heat flux, snow temperature, and bulk density, whereas snow bulk density and residual saturation have a significant effect on the height of water permeation layer in snow.

표면개질 알루미나막의 증기투과에 의한 알코올의 분리 (Separation of Alcohol/water Mixtures with Surface-modified Alumina Membrane in Vapor Permeation)

  • 높은 선택도와 투과도를 가진 분리막이 요구되지만 선택도가 높은 막은 투과도가 낮은 것이 일반적이다. 본 연구에서는 적절한 선택도를 유지하면서 높은 투과도를 갖는 분리막을 제조하기 위하여 다공성 알루미나막을 실란커플링제로 코팅하였다. 코팅된막에 대한 물의 접촉각은 90$^{\circ}$ 이상이었으며, 큰 소수성을 가짐을 의미하기 때문에 에탄올, 이소프로판올, 부탄을 수용액의 농축을 위한 증기투과실험을 수행하였다. 공급액중의 알코을 농도가 증가함에 따라 투과도가 증가하였으며, 이는 물에 비하여 코팅된 막에 대한 에탄올, 이소프로판올, 부탄올의 친화도가 크기 때문으로 판단된다. 코팅된 알루미나막의 투과도는 고분자막의 투과도에 비하여 20~1000배로 크게 나타났다.

디스크 필터의 카올린 분리특성 (Kaolin Separation Characteristics of the Disc Filters)

  • 본 연구에서는 디스크 링 형태에 패터닝된 박막을 적층시킨 모듈의 분리특성을 규명하고자 투과실험을 수행하였다. 먼저, 본 연구에서 자체 제작한 5가지 형태의 디스크 필터의 순수 투과도를 측정하였으며 그 값은 0.25 내지 $2.24L/m^2{\cdot}hr{\cdot}bar$이었다. 0.1 wt% 카올린 수용액을 투과시키면 순수 투과율이 가장 높은 모듈의 투과유속이 가장 높았고, 순수 투과율이 가장 낮았던 모듈의 카올린 투과유속이 가장 낮게 나타났다. 그러나 모든 모듈의 카올린 투과유속이 순수 투과율에 비례하지는 않았다. 또한 0.1 wt% 수용액으로 장시간 운전하기 위하여 디스크 필터 모듈 1에 주기적으로 역세척을 실시하였으며 가장 효율적인 운전조건은 투과시간 8분, 역세척 2분 주기임을 확인하였다.
