This paper is study that the mathemetical model of water mebrane splinklikler capacity in fire prevention block. The methmetical investigation are performed about prediction of five temperature in room and water membrane splinkler capacity by use of experimental model. The good correlation between predicted and experimental results is indication the adequacy of the mothemetical model. However. further experimental and analytical worke are needed before a more general mathemetical model can be proposed.
Comprehensive assessment of ecological riparian zone is to analyze and evaluate the status of riparian zone ecosystem. The existing problem of the ecosystem can be found through the assessment. The AHP-FUZZY method used in the assessment is based on the hierarchy model of index, grade model of object, and attribution degree of index. Accordingly, the four models have been discussed and presented from the aspect of the stability, landscape, eco-health and eco-safety of riparian zone.
A decision support system, Watershed Analysis Risk Management Framework(WARMF), was applied to the Kyungan Stream watershed, a tributary of Lake Paldang, for calculation of total maximum daily loads(TMDL). The WARMF system was developed by Systech Engineering, USA, and has been successfully used in several watersheds, for TMDL studies. The study area was divided into 14 sub-basins, based on digital elevation model(DEM). The integrated watershed and stream model of WARMF was validated by flow and BOD data measured during the year of 1999. There were reasonable agreements between model results and field data, both in water flow and BOD. The validated Kyungan WARMF was extensively utilized to study the quantitative relationship between waste loads and receiving water quality. Based on TMDL guideline at Paldang Lake and Kyungan Stream, the water quality criterion were set to be 3.0mg/L, 3.5mg/L, and 4.0mg/L at the watershed outlet. The allowable waste loads of BOD, both from point and non-point sources, were determined at each water quality criterion. From this study, it was concluded that the WARMF provided several advantages over the conventional application of watershed and stream models for TMDL study, such as time variable simulations, multiple possible soutions, and reduction loads for goal water quality, etc.

In this study, the accurate water quality analysis in rivers, including the non-point source is performed. First of all, watershed model, SWAT(Soil and Water Assessment Tool) was applied to analyze the impact of the non-point source in study area. And then, water quality analysis integrating the point source and the non-point source is implemented using QUALKO model. For more exact simulation, it should be the calibration and verification of variables and parameters which are needed for simulation. In addition, the importance of considering the non-point source was confirmed in river water quality simulation. BOD, TN, TP were analysed, and the results shows that BOD, TN and TP concentration was increased to 16.8%, 8.2% and 25.8% respectively. The more accurate estimate will be carried if use of reliable measurements and watershed simulation be done in models linking process. The suggested technique will improve the accuracy of the water quality analysis. The methodologies presented in this study will contribute to basin-wide water quantity and quality management.

The impacts of turbidity flow induced by summer rainfall events on water supply, aquatic ecosystems, and socioeconomics are significant and major concerns in most of reservoirs operations. As a decision support tool, the real-time turbidity flow monitoring and modeling system RTMMS is under development using a laterally integrated two-dimensional (2D) hydrodynamic and water quality model. The objectives of this paper is to present the preliminary field observation results on the characteristics of rainfall-induced turbidity flows and their density flow regimes, and the model performance in replicating the fate and transport of turbidity plume in a reservoir. The rainfall-induced turbidity flows caused significant drop of river water temperature by 5 to $10^{\circ}C$ and resulted in density differences of 1.2 to $2.6kg/m^3$ between inflow water and ambient reservoir water, which consequently led development of density flows such as plunge flow and interflow in the reservoir. The 2D model was set up for the reservoir. and applied to simulate the temperature stratification, density flow regimes, and temporal and spatial turbidity distributions during flood season of 2004 After intensive refinements on grid resolutions , the model showed efficient and satisfactory performance in simulating the observed reservoir thermal stratification and turbidity profiles that all are essentially required to enhance the performance of RTMMS.

In general, coastal damage is mostly occurred by the action of complex factors, like severe water waves. If the maximum storm surge height combines with high tide, severe water waves will overflow coastal structures. Consequently, it can be the cause of lost lives and severe property damage. In this study, using the numerical model, the storm surge was simulated to examine its fluctuation characteristics at the coast in front of Noksan industrial complex, Korea. Moreover, the shallow water wave is estimated by applying wind field, design water level considering storm surge height for typhoon Maemi to SWAN model. Under the condition of shallow water wave, obtained by the SWAN model, the wave overtopping rate for the dike in front of Noksan industrial complex is calculated a hydraulic model test. Finally, based on the calculated wave-overtopping rate, the inundation regime for Noksan industrial complex was predicted. And, numerically predicted inundation regimes and depths are compared with results in a field survey, and the results agree fairly well. Therefore, the inundation modelthis study is a useful tool for predicting inundation regime, due to the coastal flood of severe water wave.
This study investigated elementary students' (grade 4~6) learning progressions for water cycling drawn from iterative assessments using ordered multiple-choice (OMC) items. An assessment system, which consisted of construct map, item design, outcome space, and measurement model, was employed in this study to examine children's learning progressions. At the first stage of the assessment system, a construct map was designed on which children's conceptual understandings from naive to most sophisticated were represented. At the item design stage, 8 OMC items were drawn from the construct map. Each item option of the OMC items was scored from 0 to 3 according to its level of understanding at the stage of outcome space. As a measurement model, Rasch model, a branch of item response theory, was applied to interpreting the outcomes of the OMC items. This cycle of assessment system was furtherly implemented iteratively in order to elaborate on the first version of water cycling learning progression. In conclusion, children's understanding of water cycling could be described in two aspects: water distribution and water movement. We identified children's conjectural developmental pathways about water cycling existed from superficial and naive accounts to more complex and abstract accounts.
This paper presents the numerical study to examine characteristics of fluid flow and solute transport in a rough fracture subject to effective normal stresses. The aperture distribution is generated by using the self-affine fractal model. In order to represent a nonlinear relationship between the supported normal stress and the fracture aperture, we combine a simple mechanical model with the local flow model. The solute transport is simulated using the random walk particle following algorithm. Results of numerical simulations show that the flow is significantly affected by the geometry of aperture distribution varying with the effective normal stress level while it is slightly affected by the fractal dimension that determines the degree of the fracture surface roughness. However, solute transport is influenced by the effective normal stress as well as the fracture surface roughness.

Flow carrying capacity of water distribution systems is getting reduced by deterioration of pipes in the systems. The objective of this paper is to present a managerial decision-making model for the rehabilitation of water distribution systems with a mininum cost. The decisions made by the model also satisfy the requirements for discharge and pressure at demanding nodes in the systems. Replacement cost, pipe break repair cost, and pumping cost are considered in the economic evaluation of the decision along with the break rate and the interest rate to determine the optimal replacement time for each pipe. Then, the hydraulic integrity of the water distribution system is checked for the decision by a pipe network simulator, KYPIPE, if discharge and pressure requirements are satisfied. In case the system does not satisfy the hydraulic requirements, the decision made for the optimal replacement time is revised until the requirments are satisfied. The model is well applied to an existing water distribution system, the Seoul Metropolitan Water Supply System (1st Phase). The results show that the decisions for the replacement time determined by the economic analysis are accepted as optimal and hydraulic integrity of the system is in good condition.

This paper is a report on the research of experimental model test of Andong Fill Dam, which has been planned by the Government of Korea as a project, of its over-flowing capacity in spillway, creation of minus pressure and structure of anti-water impulse in over-flow weir. Andong Fill Dam is one of the project of master development plant for water resources, locating at Nakdong River side of Korea, and is aimed to have a multi-purpose dam for flood-control, irrigation, water power, urban and industrial water supply. This dam is planned to erect in fill-dam type due to the improper soil foundation and condition for concrete dam. The refore for the proper and advantageous points, this is designed as center core fill dam. By a model minimized of Andong Fill Dam, held an experimental model test on water quentity of reservir, discharges of overflow part, low pressure and anti-water impulse of overflow part, which was conducted an experiment by flowing aspects through each section of spillway to find the changes of water pressure and that of water level, and corrected the section of each part in order to conduct a check on the creation of minus pressure not to be over acted to the allowable bundary of the section structure; and for the prevention of concentated scouring at the down stream side of flow.
