셀룰로오스/키토산 및 세리신/키토산 복합화필름의 역학특성 (Mechanical Properties of Cellulose/Chitosan and Sericin/Chitosan Blend Films)

  • The tensile properties, acetic acid solubility and degree of swelling in distilled water of cellulose/chitosan and sericin/chitosan film blended by mixing chitosan acetic acid solution with cellulose solution or sericin solution were investigated and the effect of crosslinking agent on solubility and degree of swelling were also considered. From the experimental results, the model of intermolecular bond is proposed. Tensile modulus of 100% cellulose film is high but the tensile strength and elongation are low. The elongation of 100% chitosan film is high but tensile modulus and strength is low. But it is possible to make film having same or higher tensile strength and modulus compared to that of 100% cellulose film by mixing cellulose and chitosan or by mixing sericin and chitosan. Chitosan is solved in 5vol % acetic acid solution but cellulose and sericin are not solved. Degree of swelling of chitosan in distilled water is higher than that of cellulose and sericin. Lower than 40wt% chitosan content, the solubility of cellulose/chitosan film in 5vol % acetic acid solution shows lower expected value but higher in case of sericin/chitosan film.

  • A number of the experiments on the phenomenon in which the thermal energy was transferred from a hot sphere to the surrounding water through the film boiling process had been conducted. As the sphere only carried the thermal energy associated with its initially high temperature but did not contain any other thermal source, the film boiling was only driven by the decreasing temperature of the sphere and, thus, was time dependent. The results from the experiments showed that the temperature of the sphere was slowly decreased in the beginning. This corresponded to the period in which the sphere was penetrating the water surface. Later, when the sphere was fully submerged and the transition film boiling was observed over the whole surface, the temperature of the sphere was decreased relatively much faster. In the last stage, the temperature of the sphere was again slowly decreased. This was considered caused by the relatively low temperature of the sphere, which reduced and later ceased the film boiling process. In addition, the estimation of the departure rate of the steam bubbles from the film layer was also correlated for the experiments.

Electrochemistry and Determination of 1-Naphthylacetic Acid Using an Acetylene Black Film Modified Electrode

  • The acetylene black (AB) was dispersed into water in the presence of dihexadecyl hydrogen phosphate (DHP) via ultrasonication, resulting in a stable and well-distributed AB/DHP suspension. After evaporation of water, an AB/DHP composite film-modified electrode was prepared. The electrochemical responses of $K_3$[Fe$(CN)_6$] at the unmodified electrode, DHP film-modified electrode and AB/DHP film-modified electrode were investigated. It is found that the AB/DHP film-modified electrode possesses larger surface area and electron transfer rate constant. Furthermore, the electrochemical behaviors of 1-naphthylacetic acid (NAA) were examined. At the AB/DHP film-modified electrode, the oxidation peak current of NAA remarkably increases. Based on this, a sensitive and convenient electrochemical method was proposed for the determination of NAA. The linear range is in the range from $4.0 {\times} 10^{-8}\;to\;5.0 {\times} 10^{-6}$ mol $L^{-1}$, and the detection limit is $1.0 {\times} 10^{-8}$ mol $L^{-1}$. Finally, this new sensing method was employed to determine NAA in several soil samples.

  • We developed a new photoresist which was composed of polyaniline, uv-curing agent, N-methyl-2- pyrrolidine (NMP) and N-Butyl alcohol (BuOH) as solution. The photoresist is characterized by the capability of being developed in water. We successfully patterned pentacene thin film, which was vulnerable to organic solvent and thus could not be patterned by the conventional photolithography process, with the water soluble photoresist and the minimum feature size was found to be 2um.

  • Bio-film module system was applied to the treated leachate water that priorly had been treated with biological nitrification process. The experiments were performed in the laboratory and treated leachate water treatment facility. Experimental results obtained from laboratory conditions and nitrogen removal efficiencies were averaged 90% for 1 hr.

  • Thin film composite membranes incorporated with nano-sized hydrophilic zeolite -A were successfully prepared via interfacial polymerization (IP) on porous blend PES/PAN support for water desalination. The thin film nanocomposite membranes were characterized by SEM, contact angle and performance test with 7000 ppm NaCl solution at 7bar. The results showed that the optimum zeolite loading amount was determined to be 0.1wt% with permeate flux 29LMH.NaCl rejection was improved from 69% to 92% compared to the pristine polyamide membrane where the modified PA surface was more selective than that of the pristine PA. In addition, there was no significant change in the permeate flux of the thin film nanocomposite membrane compared with that of the pristine PA in spite of the formation of the dense polyamide layer. The stability of the polyamide layer was investigated for 15 days and the optimized membrane presented the highest durability and stability.

  • Water is known to playa crucial role on friction of moving parts in nanoscale contact. Little is, however, known about the tribological behavior of a solid surface that is covered with water adsorption layer. The objective of this study is to investigate the nanotribological behavior of the water layer in relation to water affinity of the surface and relative humidity. This paper presents an examination of the frictional behavior of water adsorption layer as 'confined liquid film'. It is shown that the friction is inversely proportional to the hydrophilicity of surface and relative humidity. On the other hand, friction of hydrophobic surface is not influenced by relative humidity. A model is proposed for the water-mediated contact in which it is shown that the water layer between two hydrophilic surfaces with high relative humidity behaves as a lubricant.

가공조건이 명태어분단백질 필름의 수증기 투과도와 용해도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of processing conditions on water vapor permeability and solubility of Alaska Pollack meal protein isolate film)

  • 생분해성이면서 가식성인 어분 단백질필름 제조를 목적으로 필름의 가공조건이 단백질필름의 성질에 미치는 영향을 밝히기 위하여 명태어분으로부터 단백질을 추출하고, 가공조건을 달리하여 제조한 필름의 수증기 투과도와 용해도의 변화를 측정한 결과는 다음과 같다. APMPI 필름의 수증기 투과도는 가소제 glycerol의 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 증가였으나, pH 7 이상에서는 pH의 증가에 따라 감소하였다. 필름단백질의 용해도는 pH 및 가소제의 농도가 증가함에 따라 감소하였다. 필름의 총용해량은 가소제의 농도가 증가함에 따라 증가하였으나 pH가 증가할수록 감소하였다 가소제의 종류를 달리하여 필름을 제조할 때 수증기 투과도는 glycerol, polyethylene glycol 및 sorbitol 첨가 필름의 차례로 높게 나타났다. 또한 총용해량은 반대의 순서를 나타내었다.

섬진강 하구 관개용수 염화에 의한 시설재배단지 토양의 염류집적 심화 (Effect of Irrigation Water Salinization on Salt Accumulation of Plastic Film House Soil around Sumjin River Estuary)

  • 섬진강 하구 시설재배지의 염류집적심화의 원인을 구명하기 위해 경남 하동군 목도리 시설재배단지 토양의 염류집적 특성과 주요 관개용수인 지하수의 수질특성, 그리고 시비실태를 조사하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 토양 내 염류농도가 우리나라 시설재배지 평균에 비해 높았으며, 특히 나트륨과 염소의 함량이 높게 검출되어 염에 대해 민감한 작목에 대해서는 유묘기에 염해발생가능성이 있을 것으로 판단되었다. 지역에서 주로 사용되고 있는 천층 지하수는 높은 농도의 염(평균 EC $2.6\;dS\;m^{-1}$)과 나트륨과 염소를 포함하고 있었다. 특히 수막시설 운영으로 관개용수의 사용량이 급격하게 증가하는 동절기 관개용수 중 염 농도는 급격하게 증가되고 있어 이시기 토양 내 염농도의 상승과 작물에 대한 염해유발 가능성을 가지고 있었다. 이외에도 지역에서 재배되고 있는 모든 작목에 대해 추천시비량 이상의 과량의 화학비료와 축산분뇨퇴비가 시용되고 있어 표층토의 염류집적을 가속화시키는 것에 기여하였다. 해당 지역의 염류피해를 경감하기 위해서는 일차적으로 양질의 관개용수의 확보와 시비량 저감을 위한 노력이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

공냉식 수직평판형 흡수기의 흡수과정에 대한 근사해법 (Approximate Solution of Absorption Process in an Air-Cooled Vertical Plate Absorber)

  • An unsteady quasi one-dimensional model of momentum, heat and mass transfer in a falling film of a vertical plate absorber which is cooled by air was developed using the integral method. Energy conservation of the absorber wall is considered in the model. The model can predict absorption rate, film thickness and mean velocity as well as concentration and temperature profiles. Predictions of steady state temperature and concentration profiles for LiBr/water system for constant wall temperature condition are in good agreement with the two-dimensional finite difference method solutions. Effects of operating conditions, such as convective heat transfer coefficient between the cooling air and the absorber wall, cooling air temperature and film thickness at inlet, on absorption rate of water vapor into LiBr/water solution were shown.
