  • There was to purpose of this study improves analyzing cause that prosthesis brings bite engaging that is inaccurate in patient's mouth, when supposed that all conducts that do in operatory and dental laboratory are perfect. Impression did check bite by alginate impression material and polymerization style silicon impression material that use usually in presence at a sickbed Irreversibility, hydrocolloid, alginate impression material washed in flowing water and poured anhydrite after wait about 8 minutes so that region that charge interest after impression check bite may become undoing. And hydrophile property addition polymerization style impression material poured anhydrite after blow 30 considering impression material dwell time and H2 gas occurrence time (5~15 minute) after have washed in flowing water. I got each 7 models, result that manufactures total 28 and measures by third dimension measuring instrument (Meteo, Korea) following sequence curing in tray holder and floor 1, By Alginate impression when is hardened in tray holder and when is hardened in the floor after do check bite, SPH 4, SPH5 all as there is synonymy appeared(P<0.05). By in case do not use average 0.1741 in case use tray holder in 0.0447 SPH5s in case do not use average 0.2838 pastas in case use tray holder in SPH4 0.0309, When did not use both SPH4 and SPH5 tray holder, when used tray holder, 1 appeared more greatly. 2. Improvement of Performance of Anti-reflective Coating Film Using Methyltrimethoxysilane (Methyltrimethoxysilane을 이용한 반사방지 코팅막의 성능 향상)

  • Traditional anti-reflective (AR) coating films prepared using tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) as a precursor absorbs water easily in addition to having a weak abrasion resistance. To improve the transmittance, hydrophobicity and abrasion resistance of AR coating film, various AR coating films were prepared using methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS) as a precursor in addition to introducing a fluoroalkylsilane, acid catalyst, base catalyst and acid-base two step catalyst. The prepared AR coating films were then characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy, contact angle analyzer, atomic force microscope (AFM), pencil scratch hardness test and cross-cut test. As a result, the transmittance of bare glass was 90.5%, while that of AR coating glass increased to 94.8% at curing temperature of $300^{\circ}C$. When the fluoroalkylsilane was added, the water contact angle of AR coating film increased from $96.3^{\circ}$ to $108^{\circ}$, indicating that the hydrophobicity of the film was greatly improved. The abrasion resistance of AR coating film was also improved by the acid catalyst, whereas the transmittance increased by the base catalyst. In the case of AR coating film prepared using an acid-base two step catalyzed reaction, both the transmittance and abrasion resistance of the film was synergistically enhanced as compared with those of AR coating films prepared without introduction of a catalyst.

Drying Shrinkage Properties of Latex Modified Concrete with Ordinary Cement and Rapid-Setting Cement (초속경 및 일반시멘트를 이용한 라텍스개질 콘크리트의 건조수축 특성)

  • Drying shrinkage cracking which may be caused by the relatively large specific surface is a matter of grave concern for latex modified concrete(LMC) overlay and rapid-setting cement latex modified concrete(RSLMC) overlay. LMC and RSLMC were studied for field applications very actively in terms of strength and durability in Korea. However, there were no considerations in drying shrinkage. Therefore, the purpose of this dissertation was to study the drying shrinkage properties of LMC and RSLMC with the main experimental variables such as cement types(ordinary portland cement, rapid setting cement), latex contents(0, 5, 10, 15, 20%) and curing days at a same controlled environment of 60% of relative humidity and $20^{\circ}C$ of temperature. The drying shrinkage for specimens was measured with a digital dial gauge of Demec. The test results showed that the drying shrinkage of LMC and RSLMC were considerably lower than that of OPC and RSC, respectively. This might be attributed to the interlocking of hydrated cement and aggregates by a film of latex particles, water retention due to hydrophobic, and colloidal properties of the latexes resulting in reduced water evaporation.

Characteristics of Autogenous Shrinkage for Concrete Containing Blast-Furnace Slag (고로슬래그를 함유한 콘크리트의 자기수축 특성)

  • The use of blast-furnace slag (BFS) in making not only normal concrete but also high-performance concrete has several advantages with respect to workability, long-term strength and durability. However, slag concrete tends to show more shrinkage than normal concrete, especially autogenous shrinkage. High autogenous shrinkage would result in severe cracking if they are not controlled properly. Therefore, in order to minimize the shrinkage stress and to ensure the service life of concrete structures, the autogenous shrinkage behavior of concrete containing BFS should be understood. In this study, small prisms made of concrete with water-binder (cement+BFS) ratio (W/B) ranging from 0.27 to 0.42 and BFS replacement level of $0\%$, $30\%$, and $50\%$, were prepared to measure the autogenous shrinkage. Based on the test results, thereafter, material constants in autogenous shrinkage prediction model were determined. In particular, an effective autogenous shrinkage defined as the shrinkage that contributes to the stress development was introduced. Moreover, an estimation formula of the 28-day effective autogenous shrinkage was proposed by considering various W/B's. Test results showed that autogenous shrinkage increased with replacement level of BFS at the same W/B. Interestingly, the increase of autogenous shrinkage is dependent on the W/B at the same content of BFS; the lower W/B, the smaller increasing rate. In concluding, it is necessary to use the combination of other mineral admixtures such as shrinkage reducing admixture or to perform sufficient moisture curing on the construction site in order to reduce the autogenous shrinkage of BFS concrete.

  • Natural polymer chitosan has been widely applied to medical fields due to its biochemical activities such as anticancer, antibacterial and lowering cholesterol in addition to biocompatibility and biodegradability. Currently, researches are being actively conducted to develop various drug-encapsulated chitosan nanoparticles for curing different diseases by applying chitosan to a drug delivery system. The free amine ($-NH_2$) group present in chitosan can bind to various hydrophobic groups by physical and chemical modification and the chitosan with hydrophobic groups can form shell-core nanoparticles by self-assembly when dispersed in water. In addition, an insoluble drug can increase the solubility against water when it was encapsulated in the core of chitosan nanoparticles. Also, the therapy effect can be maximized by minimizing side effects of drugs such as proteins, anticancer drugs and vaccines when they were encapsulated in the core of chitosan nanoparticles. Moreover, it is possible to control the particle size and release rate according to the hydrophobic group introduced to chitosan, so that it can be applied to a wide range of medical fields. The purpose of this review is to discuss the preparation and property of chitosan nanoparticles modified with various hydrophobic groups, and the application to drug delivery systems according to their property.

Durability of Latex-Modified Concrete with Rapid-Setting Cement (초속경시멘트를 이용한 라텍스개질 콘크리트의 내구특성)

  • Latex modified concrete(LMC) became to be applied as a new material for newly constructed bridge deck overlays in Korea due to its excellent bond strength, flexural strength and impermeability against water and chloride. However, it could not be adopted at repair job site because of its long curing time required. Thus, a research on latex modified concrete with rapid-setting cement(RSLMC) is necessary if it could develope the sufficient strength for early opening to traffic. This study focused on the durability of latex modified concrete with rapid-setting cement mainly on water permeable resistance and freeze-thaw resistance. The main experimental variables were latex contents(0, 5, 10, 15 and 20%) and antifoamer contents (0, 1.6, 3.2, 4.8 and 6.4%). Test results show that the permeability of RSLMC is very low indicating below 100 coulombs at 15% of latex contents at all antifoamer contents. The freeze-thaw resistance of RSLMC maintains above 90% of relative dynamic modulus at 3.2% of antifoamer content until 300 freezing-thawing cycles.

Modern Reproducing of Jehotang Method (제호탕(醍醐湯)의 현대적 재현)

  • The "tang[tɑ:ŋ]" in Korean pronounciation means the beverage made of boiled medicinal herbs. The"Jeho-tang", the name of Drink in this abstract, is described in a variety of medical books including the "Dongeui Bogam" as being effective for illness from the summer heat in promoting digestion, curing the heatstroke and bringing it to a halt. The Drink was used as the Royal gifts granted to retainers and royal families on the Day of Dano-festival on the fifth of the fifth month of the year according to the lunar calendar, the items of encouragement for those who worked hard in sacrifices, and the awards for students of Confucianism who were proficient in their learning. The Jeho-tang used in this study was scientifically cooked again after a long time in history through looking at the methods written in the documents concerned with the Drink such as the "Dongeui Bogam" and the "Taste of Korea". In preparation of the medicinal herbs for the Drink, the powder of thinner than 30 mesh of the "Prunus mume", which is a species of Asian plum in the family of Rosaceae, and those of 50 mesh of the "Santalum album", which is the fragrant wood of trees in the genus Santalum and the "Amomum Xanthioides", which is produced in Vietnam and is the name of a kind of herb medicines, being very effective in the desease caused from heatstrare, were used. The sugar concentration of the honey boiled down long time at low heat was $82.43^{\circ}Bx$. When cooking in a double boiler, the inner part of the liquid for the Drink was kept at $80^{\circ}C$ for 12 hours to make it finished in a state of ointment. In the general composition of the finished Jeho-tang, the moisture content was 24.4%, 1.3% of crude fat, 1.4% crude protein and 0.7% ash, along with pH3.2. The acceptance on the whole was come out to be the highest in the sample diluted with the drinking water of 7-fold of the Jeho-tang, indicating that the 7-fold's addition of water was optimum level for drinking. In the Drink cooked by a vaccum pressure extractor for herb medicine, which was developed to improve the art of cooking, the longer the time of pressure was, the less the heterogeneous feeling at tongue was and the more the glossiness of the Drink was. The Jeho-tang cooked under pressure for 7 hours received an excellent evaluation in its acceptability in every way.

Physicochemical and Sensory Evaluation of Cured and Short-Ripened Raw Hams During Storage at 10 and 25°C (단기 숙성 생햄의 저온 및 실온저장 과정 중 물리화학 및 관능학적 품질 특성 변화)

  • Twenty pork loins were processed for manufacturing raw hams according to a short-ripening procedure including dry-and wet-curing for 1 week each, followed by ripening for 2 weeks. Raw ham cuts were vacuum-packaged and stored in darkness at 10 and $25^{\circ}C$ for 90 days, and their physicochemical and sensory quality characteristics were investigated. The sodium chloride content of raw hams stored at 10 and $25^{\circ}C$ was maintained at approximately 5.1% throughout storage at either temperature. No significant changes in water, crude protein, crude fat and ash contents were observed in all samples regardless of storage temperature and storage length. Thiobarbituric acid and volatile basic nitrogen values increased continuously during the storage period. The changes in physicochemical characteristics including pH, water activity texture lipid oxidation and protein degradation, and sensory attributes appeared to be more pronounced at $25^{\circ}C$ than at $10^{\circ}C$ over the storage period. At prolonged storage periods, a significant quality loss in the aspect of texture changes including hardness, brittleness, elasticity, cohesiveness, gumminess, and adhesiveness was observed (p<0.05). Based on sensory evaluation scores, It appeared that vacuum-packaged raw ham cuts stored at 10 and $25^{\circ}C$ were not acceptable after 75 and 45 days, respectively.

Fundamental Study on High Strength and High Durability Cement Concrete Pavement: Part II Strength and Durability Evaluations (시멘트콘크리트 포장의 고강도 고내구성을 위한 기초 연구 : Part II 최적배합콘크리트의 강도 및 내구특성 분석)

  • This study investigates the fresh state characteristics, strength, chloride ion penetration resistance and freeze-thaw resistance of the suggested high strength-high durability cement concrete pavement. The required workability and air content could be achieved by using an appropriate admixtures. However its dosage should be carefully determined through field trial batches. Compressive strength increased with the increased cement content and, in particular, high cement volume concrete continuously developed strength up to 90 days. No clear relationship, however, existed between flexural strength and cement content. Chloride penetration resistance seemed as a function of curing age rather than the cement content. Freeze-thaw resistance test was conducted using two different coolants, tap water and 4% NaCl solution. When the tap water was used no severe damage was observed up to 300 cycles regardless the air content. Under 4% NaCl solution, specimens of 326kg/$m^3$ cement content showed severe damage with surface scaling. Based on the experimental investigations herein, it is highly recommended that the cement content be greater than 400kg/$m^3$ for strength-high durability cement concrete pavement structures.

Chloride Binding Properties of Portland Cement Binder Incorporating CaAl2O4-CaAl4O7 (CaAl2O4-CaAl4O7 혼입 포틀랜드 시멘트 결합재의 염소이온 고정 특성)

  • This study conducted to understand effects of CA (CaAl2O4) and CA2 (CaAl4O7) ratio on chloride binding ability and compressive strength and pore structure of cement mortar incorporating mixture of CA and CA2. The Portland cement based specimens were mixed with the clinkers CA and CA2, and these calcium aluminate clinker mixture were replaced 0, 5, 10% by weight of cement. After all the test specimens were cured for 28 days under water curing, they were immersed in the distilled water and NaCl solution. As a result, 28 days compressive strength of all specimens was similar, and As the replacement ratio of calcium aluminate clinker in the specimen increased, Friedel's salt production tended to increase. However, it was dependent on the amount of Al2O3 in the level of 5% replacement and CA ratio in the level of 10% replacement. Through equilibrium isotherm result, it was also indicated that as replacement ratio of calcium aluminate clinker in cement matrix increased, chloride binding capacity was improved, and chloride penetration was suppressed. In this study, the specimen replaced with 10% of the calcium aluminate clinker mixture (CA 39%, CA2 60%) was remarkable to control chloride attack. We figured out necessity to understand optimal CA/CA2 ratio to effectively apply CA2 as a sustainable building material by improving the chloride binding ability in Portland cement based system.
