유치원 원아의 WLI 분포에 따른 에너지 및 영양소의 섭취량, 식습관의 차이에 관한 연구 (Measuring Differences in Food Iintakes and Dietary Habits of Preschool Children by the Weight-Length Index)

  • This study was conducted to obtain data and offer advice regarding dietary intake at kindergarten and to recommend dietary habits to prevent childhood obesity. The study was conducted in 85 children aged 4 to 5 years. Body weight and height, dietary intakes of lunch served at Kindergarten and questionnaires for dietary behaviors in Kyeongnam area were studied. All subjects were classified by their weight-length index (WLI). According to the standard WLI values, 41.2% of the children were within the normal value ($90{\leq}$WLI<110), 23.5% of the children were overweight ($110{\leq}$WLI<120), and 35.3% of the children were obese ($WLI{\geq}120$). The mean energy intake at lunch for kindergarteners was $287.1{\pm}13.4$ kcal in the normal group, $307.6{\pm}10.2$ kcal in the overweight group and $323.7{\pm}8.6$ kcal in the obese group. The percent energy of estimated energy requirement (EER) was 21.8%. The intake of protein, iron, zinc, vitamin A, and pyridoxine were significantly different by WLI (P<0.05). A comparison of nutrients in the lunch menu provided with those of 1/3 recommended intake (RI) showed that preschoolers took in fewer calories, calcium, and vitamin $B_2$, and that their deficiency rates were high (81.2%, 76.5% and 70.6% of recommended levels, respectively). There was a significant difference in the preference of fruits and milk and dairy products by WLI. Therefore, a nutritional education program and new guidance in the proper nutrition management for kindergarteners should be developed to enhance nutritional status during childhood.

Buffering Effect of Job Resources in the Relationship between Job Demands and Work-to-Private-Life Interference: A Study among Health-Care Workers

  • Background: The present study aims at investigating whether and how (1) job demands and job resources are associated with work-to-private-life interference (WLI) and (2) job resources moderate the relationship between job demands and WLI. Methods: Data were collected by a self-report questionnaire from three hospitals in Italy. The sample consisted of 889 health-care workers. Results: All job demands (i.e., quantitative demands, disproportionate patient expectations, and verbal aggression) and job resources (i.e., job autonomy, support from superiors and colleagues, fairness, and organizational support), with the exception of skill discretion, were related to WLI. The effects of quantitative demands on WLI were moderated by support from superiors; fairness and organizational support moderate the effects of all job demands considered. Support from colleagues moderated only verbal aggression. Job autonomy did not buffer any job demands. Conclusion: The present study suggests that the work context has a central importance in relation to the experience of WLI among health-care workers. The results indicated that intervention in the work context may help to contain WLI. Such interventions would especially be aimed at improving the social climate within the unit and quality of the organizational process.

숲가꾸기사업 유형별 산림작업부하지수 추정을 위한 사례연구 (A Case Study on the Estimation of Forest Work Load Index in the Type of Forest Tending Operation)

  • 본 연구에서는 산림작업자의 작업강도를 비교하기 위한 산림작업부하지수(Forest Work Load Index, FWLI) 개발을 위해 숲가꾸기사업을 대상으로 산림작업부하지수 추정 연구를 실시하였다. FWLI는 근골격계 부담 분석방법 중 하나인 OWAS (Ovako Working Posture Analysis System)와 작업강도 분석방법 중 하나인 WLI (Work Load Index)를 이용하여 추정하는 방법을 개발하였다. OWAS는 작업자의 근골격계 부담 분석에 사용되는 대표적인 방법론이며, WLI는 작업자의 작업강도 분석에 사용되는 주요 방법이다. OWAS 기법을 통해 산출되는 사업종별 PRI값은 185.3(큰나무가꾸기), 150.6(가지치기), 181.1(산불예방숲가꾸기), 197.0(어린나무가꾸기)으로 분석되었으며, 측정된 심박수를 이용하여 산출되는 WLI값은 사업종별로 59.5%(큰나무가꾸기), 53.5%(가지치기), 56.2%(산불예방숲가꾸기), 62.3%(어린나무가꾸기)로 분석되었다. FWLI는 분석된 PRI와 WLI의 값을 이용하여 계산하였으며, 숲가꾸기 사업이 수행된 사업종별 FWLI값은 110.2(큰나무가 꾸기), 80.7(가지치기), 102.1(산불예방숲가꾸기), 123.0(어린나무가꾸기)으로 분석되었다. FWLI를 활용할 경우 세부공종부터 사업의 종류까지 다양하게 산림작업자의 작업부하를 정량적으로 비교할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 향후 연구목적에 따라 FWLI 분석의 범위(특정 작업, 작업자들의 역할, 특정 공정, 사업의 종류 등)를 정하여 작업자들에게 가해지는 부하를 측정해 작업자세의 개선 우선순위, 공종별 작업부하 비교, 사업종간 작업부하 비교를 통해 노임의 계상 및 품셈 등에 활용 할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

아날로그 신호처리를 이용한 백색광 간섭 피크의 검출 (Detection of White Light Interference Peak Position utilizing Analog Signal Processing)

  • 고속으로 간섭피크의 위치를 찾기 위해 일련의 아날로그 신호처리를 수행하는 백색광간섭(WLI)센서용 신호처리 방식을 고안하고, 이를 WLI 온도센서 시스템에 적용하였다. 새로운 신호처리방식을 적용한 결과 잡음은 $0.019^{\circ}C/\sqrt{Hz}$로 측정되었으며, 선형성도 우수하였다. 그러나 보상용 간섭계에서의 온도변화가 센서출력의 드리프트로 나타났으며, 현재의 구성에서 드리프트의 온도 의존성은 $1.42{\mu}m/^{\circ}C$인 것으로 계산되었다. 또한 간섭피크간 간격이 광원의 가간섭길이에 비해 충분히 넓지 않은 경우 간섭무늬 피크의 간격과 신호처리기가 측정한 피크 간격과의 관계가 비선형적으로 나타날 수 있음도 확인하였다.

  • A white light interferometery (WLI) method for investigating surface microstructure was introduced. Brief description of the principle of this method was provided. The surface structure of various samples, for example, a liner board paper, a pigment coated paper, a intaglio printed paper and a polymer laminated paper were tested and characterized with the WLI method. The data showed the WLI method provided very detailed information about surface topography, which were little affected by the surface condition such as color, opacity, roughness, etc. The data stitching mode of the WLI method could provide high spatial resolution over a large field-of-view, which made it possible to obtain the statistically valid results. Fast and high repeatability also made this method a promising way for investigating the surface micro-structure of paper products and prints.

Evaluation of the health status of preschool children stratified based on the weight-length index (WLI)

  • This study was conducted to prepare basic materials and offer advice regarding dietary habits to prevent and cure childhood obesity by comparing and analyzing dietary habit, nutritional status, blood factors, and mineral contents of hair. All subjects were stratified by their weight-length index (WLI). According to the standard WLI values, 64.9% of children were within the normal value, 13.5% of children were underweight, and 21.6% of children were overweight and obese (WLI ${\geq}$ 110%). Overall, the score assessed dietary habit for all children was $21.32{\pm}2.55$ point (921 subjects), with 5.1% of children having excellent dietary habits and 3.1% having poor dietary habits. Additionally, 37.9% of underweight children, 37.6% of normal weight children, and 43.2% of overweight and obese children consumed higher amounts of protein than underweight children did (meat, fish, eggs, and soy products) (P < 0.05). Overweight and obese children consumed more fried foods than underweight or normal weight children (P < 0.05). Moreover, 38.0% of the children had hemoglobin levels of 12 g/dl, while 7.6% were anemic (11.1 g/dl). When a hematocrit level of 33% was taken as the standard, 11.0% of children were anemic. The plasma transferrin content was $263.76{\pm}54.52$ mg/dl in overweight and obese children. The mean values of Fe, Cu, Ca, Cr, Mn, Se, Na, K, Li, V, Co, and Mo were within the reference values, but the Zn concentrations of underweight, normal weight, and overweight and obese children were $67.97{\pm}28.51$ ppm, $70.09{\pm}30.81$ ppm, and $73.99{\pm}30.36$ ppm, respectively. The Zn concentration of overweight and obese children ($73.99{\pm}30.36$ ppm) was lower than that of the standard value (180~220 ppm). Therefore, a nutritional education program and new guidance for dietary pattern should be developed to reduce the number of underweight and overweight and obese children.

RGB 채널치환을 이용한 내시경영상 향상을 위한 예비 연구 (Enhancement of Endoscopic Images by RGB Channel Substitution Image Processing, a Preliminary Report)

  • Background Neoplastic vessels tend to proliferate on the surface of malignant lesions in the aerodigestive tract. So, superficial malignant lesions can be detected earlier by enhancing mucosal vascular clarity. To enhance mucosal vascular clarity on endoscopic image, we developed an image processing algorithm of RGB (red-green-blue) channel substitution image (CSI). Methods Each pixel in original white light image (WLI) has its own value of red, green and blue channel. Various combinations of RGB channel substitution was tried on original WLI. Results To make superficial blood vessels darker than brighter background mucosa, in the CSI algorithm, RGB value in each pixel of WLI is substituted; red value to green one, green value to blue one. There was a good contrast between superficial mucosal vessels and background brighter mucosa in the CSI image. Conclusion By RGB CSI algorithm, WLI could be successfully converted to new images with enhanced mucosal vascular clarity. Using RGB CSI algorithm could provide added vascular visibility on original WLI.

Roughness Measurement Performance Obtained with Optical Interferometry and Stylus Method

  • White-light scanning interferometry (WLI) and phase shifting interferometry (PSI) are increasingly used for surface topography measurements, particularly for areal measurements. In this paper, we compare surface profiling results obtained from above two optical methods with those obtained from stylus instruments. For moderately rough surfaces ($Ra{\approx}500\;nm$), roughness measurements obtained with WLI and the stylus method seem to provide close agreement on the same roughness samples. For surface roughness measurements in the 50 nm to 300 nm range of Ra, discrepancies between WLI and the stylus method are observed. In some cases the discrepancy is as large as 109% of the value obtained with the stylus method. By contrast, the PSI results are in good agreement with those of the stylus technique.

Effect of Route of Preoperative Biopsy on Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection for Patients with Early Gastric Cancer

  • Objective: To observe and compare the effects of multi-patch biopsy under conventional white light imaging endoscopy (C-WLI) and precise targeted biopsy under magnifying narrow-band imaging endoscopy (M-NBI) on the endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) of early gastric cancers and intraepithelial neoplasias. Methods: According to the way of selecting biopsy specimens, patients were divided into C-WLI and M-NBI groups, 20 cases. The ESD operations of the 2 groups were compared quantitively. Results: The mean frequency of biopsy in M-NBI group was ($1.00{\pm}0.00$), obviously lower than in the C-WLI group ($4.78{\pm}1.02$) (P<0.01).The average total number of selected biopsy specimens was also fewer ($1.45{\pm}0.12$ and $7.82{\pm}2.22$, respectively, P<0.01). There was no significant difference in the time of determining excision extension, marking time and the time of specimen excision of 2 groups during the ESD (P>0.05), whereas submucosal injection time, mucosal dissection time, stopping bleeding time, wound processing time in the M-NBI group were significantly shorter than in the C-WLI group (P<0.01). Conclusion: Precise targeted biopsy under M-NBI can obviously shorten the time of ESD operation, with small quantity of tissues but high pathological positive rate.

중학생들의 체격에 따른 식습관과 식생활 태도에 관한 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on Dietary Habits and Dietary Attitudes among Middle School Students with Different Obesity Indexes)

  • The object of this study was done to assert the dietary habits, food intake, and dietary attitudes of 332 middle school students in a small city. The subject were divided into doe groups based on weight length index (WLI). Anthropometric data showed that the mean height and weight were 169.5 $\pm 8.2 cm and 55.1 $\pm 11.5 kg in the male students and 158.9 $\pm 5.9 cm and 48.1 $\pm 7.6 kg in the female students. The mean WLIs for male and female students were 103.0 $\pm 19.7 and 96.3 $\pm 12.8, respectively. Of the male students 27.9% and of the female students 32.1% were underweight, and of the male students 28.9% and of the female students 13.0% were overweight based on WLI index. Lack of good dietary habits in the overweight group tended to be the highest, the normal group was the second highest, and the underweight group was the lowest. The regularity of eating breakfast and flood prejudice scores in the overweight group were significantly higher than those in the normal and underweight group. With respect to flood intake, the normal group tended to consume grains, yellow or green vegetables, vegetables with light color, fruits, milk, yogurt, cheese, seaweeds, fat-floods, instant floods, sweet floods, carbonated drinks, and spicy and salty floods more frequently. The underweight group tended to consume meat-ham, eggs, fish and fried, stir-fried flood more frequently In dietary attitudes, the overweight group tended to have more favorable dietary attitudes, and the normal group tended to have negative dietary attitudes. The underweight group showed more negative responses to trying to eat/drink milk, yogurt, or cheese everyday than the overweight groups. It might be suggested that more effective nutritional programs should be developed and implemented to ensure good dietary habits in middle school students, including the overweight, as well as the underweight group. Further research on the comparison of dietary characteristics is needed, with consideration of the subjects WLI.
