There are two purposes of this study; 1) to identify the perception about Web accessibility of students with disabilities and their Web-based Instructional personnel (WBI personnel) in higher education, and 2) to find out effective WBI design strategies actually used by WBI personnel to design and develop accessible Web-Based instruction for students with disabilites. Sixteen students with disabilites and their WBI personnel at a mid-western university in US were recruited for individual interviews. The results showed that WBI personnel did not know about Web accessibility and were not well prepared to make their WBI accessible. They have to provide the equality and quality of life to students with disabilites by making their instruction accessible. They felt that they could not guarantee whether their WBI was accessible even after meeting current standards and guidelines. WBI personnel also suggested that they had to provide students with disabilites with various methods and use appropriate instructional design strategies in order to address their needs. Finally, some effective instructional design used by WBI personnel in order to make WBI accessible were listed.

The purpose of the research undertaken for this paper was to demonstrate the effects of WBI on students' achievement and their reactions. WBI was adapted for use on the lesson Theme of Poems in Korean textbook for Middle School second graders. Hypothesis 1 was that there would be meaningful differences in students' achievement between the experimental group using WBI and the controlled group in a traditional instructive class. And the statistical calculations showed that the experimental group produced larger numbers in terms of both the average and standard deviation. Hypothesis 2 was that there would be the more highly rated outcomes from the experimental group applying WBI for students' interest, understanding, and concentration. The responses to a Questionnaire concerning stated items showed significant differences in favor of WBI class. Based on these analyses, this thesis represents an effort to potential application of WEI to learning of Poems, in light of research evidence that reveals its respective effect to further students' achievement and interest.

요즘 우리나라는 교육 정보화 사업으로 인해 가정과 학교에서 인터넷이 일반화 되어가면서 웹 기반 수업(Web Based Instruction)이 교육에 여러 가지 긍정적인 효과를 발휘할 것이라는 기대 때문에 관심이 증대되고 있다 본 논문에서는 컴퓨터를 이용한 WBI를 네트워크 컴퓨터 시대의 새로운 교수학습방법으로 제시하면서 WBI의 필요성과 여러 방면에서 WBI가 교육에 미치는 효과에 대해 알아보고 현재 WBI가 안고 있는 문제점 및 해결방안에 대해 알아보았다.

It is difficult to let computer express feelings because of the ambiguity and nonlinearity. But it is said that expressing emotions is very important for high quality data processing and improvement of interactivity in WBI. In this paper, I surveyed emotion models from the view point of psychology. Next, I proposed WBI(Web Based Instruction) based on character agent considering emotional experience. By experimental result, the proposed model shows that has more user's preference than other existing WBI.

Purpose: This study was aimed to develop a WBI(Web Based Instruction) program on safety for 3rd grade elementary school students and to test the effects of it. Method: The WBI program was developed using Macromedia flash MX, Adobe Illustrator 10.0 and Adobe Photoshop 7.0. The web site was http://www.safeschool.co.kr. The effect of it was tested from Mar 24, to Apr 30, 2003. The subjects were 144 students enrolled in the 3rd grade of an elementary school in Gyungju. The experimental group received the WBI program lessons while each control group received textbook-based lessons with visual presenters and maps, 3 times. Data was analyzed with descriptive statistics, and ${\chi}^2$test, t-test, and repeated measure ANOVA. Result: First, the WBI group reported a longer effect on knowledge and practice of accident prevention than the textbook-based lessons, indicating that the WBI is more effective. Second, the WBI group was better motivated to learn the accident prevention lessons, showing that the WBI is effective. As a result, the WBI group had total longer effects on knowledge, practice and motivation of accident prevention than the textbook-based instruction. Conclusion: We recommend that this WBI program be used in each class to provide more effective safety instruction in elementary schools.

As the number and diversity of educational services increases rapidly on the Internet, we are faced with some service availability problems including persistent service monitoring and fault tolerancy. In this paper, we implemented a service monitoring & fault management system to enhance this availability and reduce administration cost of WBI system. In order to validate our system, we also illustrated an effective real-time monitoring and automatic fault announcement & recovery from our experiences in a real world WBI environment.

Recently the user of distance education system using Intemet-Web are increasing rapidly. This paper shows that Hierarchical WBI documents generator by using CGI is devised and applied to development of distance education system for group-level spoken english. This overcomes the problems of the ready-made programs, which took a lot of time and cost. To generate WBI documents, The key is established to each document saved in server by types of the hierarchical structure and is transmitted to client. By client transmitting this key to server when next documentary is required. Sever can know what documents the client needs. The WBI documentary generator tells the keys transmitted from the client, automatically generates a new documentary to send, and delivery it.

In this paper, What is called WBI teaching model, is designed by the principle of teaching guidance which is a new research according to changes of educational media such as a computer. It's planned to take the business department in a commercial high school as an example so as to master learning suitable to learners individual characteristics with focusing on man to man education. The education by means of WBI makes learners have motivations and achievement as well as it makes possible to learn by each student's level and even further to study by individuals. Especially, even though the presentations of problems and learning contents like the established WBI are basic in this survey, I designed and embodied for the interaction between learner and instructor and focused on the showing of accomplishment at each field.

Recently, the current trend for computer based learning is moving from CAI environment to WBI environment. Most web documents for WBI learning are collected by aid of search engine. Instructors use those documents as learning materials after they evaluate availability of retrieved web documents. But, this method has the following problems. First, we search repeatedly the web documents selected by instructor. Second, there is a need for another course of instruction design in order to suggest the web documents for learner. Third, it is very difficult to analyze for relevance between the web documents and test results. In this work, we suggest WAILS(Web Agent Instruction Learning System) that retrieves web documents for WBI learning and guides learning course for learners. WAILS collects web documents for WBI learning by aid of web agent. Then, instructors can evaluate them and suggest to learners by using instruction-learning generating machine. Instructors retrieve web documents and the instruction-learning design at the same time. This can facilitate WBI learning.

정보통신기술의 발달은 학습자들에게 시간과 공간의 제약을 벗어나 자신이 원하는 시간에 학습할수 있는 환경을 제공하게 되었다. 이런 환경하에 등장한 WBI 는 학습환경의 큰 변화를 야기하였다. 그러나 이런 WBI만으로는 학습효과를 가져올수는 없다. 그 이유는 모든 학습자들에게 고정적이고 일률적인 학습자료는 다양한 학습자들의 수준과 학습능력 등 개별적 특성을 효과적으로 반영하지 못하기 때문이다. 개별학습을 위한 WBI는 학습자들의 학습효과 증진을 위해 학습자들의 다양한 특성을 반영하여야만 한다. 본 논문에서는 '컴퓨터활용능력'자격증을 취득하기 위한 개별학습시스템을 통해 학습자들의 수준에 맞는 학습자료의 제시와 개인성적정보를 통한 학습효과를 증진, 테스트후 점수의 부족한 세부영역의 제시를 통해 학습자의 개별성을 효과적으로 반영할 수 있는 WBI를 구현하고자 하였다.
