Effect of Die-upset Process on Magnetic Properties and Deformation Behavior of Nanostructured Nd-Fe-B Magnets

  • Nd-Fe-B high performance magnets were prepared by die-upset forging. The effects of the deformation parameters on magnetic properties and flow stress were studied. Deformation temperatures in the range of $600{\sim}900^{\circ}C$ enable to achieve an effective anisotropy and temperature $800^{\circ}C$ proves to be suitable for deformation of Nd-Fe-B magnets. The amount of c-axis alignment along the press direction seems to depend on the amount of deformation and a saturation behavior is shown at deformation ratio of 75%. Magnetic properties are also related to strain rate, and maximum energy product is attained at an optimum strain rate of ${\varphi}=1{\times}10^{-2}s^{-1}$. By analyzing the relationship of stress and strain at different deformation temperature during die-upset forging process, deformation behavior of Nd-Fe-B magnets was studied and parameters for describing plastic deformation were obtained. Nd-rich boundary liquid phase, which is additionally decreasing the flow stress during deformation, is supposed to play the role of diffusion path and enhance the diffusion rate.

횡성호에 분포하는 피라미 (Pale chub: Zacco platypus) 개체군의 Length-weight Relationship 및 Condition Factor (Length-weight Relationship and Condition Factor of Zacco platypus in the Lake Hoengseong)

  • 2005년 4월부터 10월까지 횡성호를 중심으로 상 하부 및 호내지역에 분포하는 피라미 개체군의 동태를 알아보았다. 피라미는 횡성호에서 우점종으로 나타났으며 본 종의 생태학적 특성을 파악하기 위해 댐 상류하천과 호내 그리고 댐 하류지역의 하천에서 채집된 피라미를 지역별로 구분하여 전장과 체중과의 관계, 길이와 비대지수(K와 $K_n$)와의 관계를 각각 비교하였다. 전장-체중의 관계에 의해 관계식을 추정한 결과 $Log(T_W)=-2.26+3.18Log(T_L)$로 나타났다. 회귀계수 b값은 호내지역에서 3.35로 높았고, 상류하천과 댐 하부지역에서 각각 3.09와 3.15의 간을 나타내 유수역인 하천보다 정수역인 호수에서 채집된 피라미가 더 양호한 성장도를 나타냈다 비대지수에 의한 개체군의 비만기울기 또한 양의 상관성을 보였으며 호수에서 기울기 값이 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 횡성호에 분포하는 피라미 개체군이 양호하거나 안정되었음을 반영하고 있다. 호수는 피라미 개체군에 더 좋은 조건을 제공하고 있는 것으로 보인다.

Estimates of Parameters for Genetic Relationship between Reproductive Performances and Body Condition Score of Hanwoo Cows

  • This study was conducted to estimate phenotypic and genetic parameters of body condition score (BCS) and reproductive traits in Hanwoo cows. DFREML procedures were applied to obtain variance-covariance components and heritability estimates with single or two-trait models. Estimates of phenotypic correlations of BCS at service with BCS at calving was 0.16 and 0.26 with calving interval, 0.08 with gestation length, and 0.06 with number of services per conception, respectively. Estimates of phenotypic correlation of BCS at calving was 0.10 with calving interval, 0.13 with gestation length, and 0.10 with number of services per conception, respectively. Estimates of phenotypic correlation were low and negative, -0.11 between calving interval and gestation length and -0.13 between gestation length and number of services per conception. Estimates of direct genetic correlation were -0.06, between BCS at service and BCS at calving, 0.37 between BCS at service and BCS at weaning, and -0.18 between BCS at calving and BCS at weaning. Estimates of direct genetic correlation of days from calving to the 1st service were 0.17 with number of services per conception and -0.21 with BCS at service. Estimates of direct genetic correlation for BCS at calving were -0.02 with number of services per conception and -0.08 with BCS at service. Estimates of direct genetic correlation for BCS at weaning were 0.02 with number of services per conception and -0.07 with BCS at service. Estimates of direct heritability from single trait analyses were 0.13 for BCS at service, 0.20 for BCS at calving, 0.02 for BCS at weaning, and 0.20 for number of service per conception, respectively. Estimates of direct heritability were 0.20 for birth weight and 0.10 for weaning weight.

Relations between Information Items of Job Posting and Vacancy Duration in Mid-level Labour Market - by GLM, Decision Tree

  • In this paper, we study the relationship between vacancy duration and information items of a job posting by using generalized linear models and a decision tree analysis w.r.t. the three factors such as company characteristics, employment conditions, and constraints. The results indicate that the employment conditions rather than company characteristics are more influential to the vacancy duration. These effects are presumed to be based on the complex relations between the decisions of the employers and the job seekers. And in this paper we suggest the need to provide personalized and profiled labor market information tailored for a quick decision to job seekers and employers. Policy implication is that since employer's decision affects the vacation duration, employers may had better to provide a comprehensive labour market information including supply and demand of the required skills in order to reduce the time for judgment on the cost-effectiveness.

  • Correlations between various morphological characteristics of Panax quinquefolium plants grown in Lytton, British Columbia, Canada were assessed for 1-through 4-year old plants. Root dry weight, the dependent variable, was found to be strongly related to leaf dry weight, leaf length and root length for 1-and 2-year old plants during the middle of the growing season. For 1- and 2-year old plants at the end of the growing season, root dry weight was found to be related to leaf dry weight, leaf length and stem dry weight. For 3 and 4-year old plants, root dry weight was found to be related to leaf dry weight, leaf length and stem dry weight. For 3- and 4-year old plants, root dry weight was found to be related to leaf dry weight. For practical considerations, this latter relationship provides a simple method for selecting superior plants from which seed can be harvested.

새로운 in vitro SPF측정법 개발 (Development of a novel in vitro SPF evaluation method)

  • 본 연구에서는 SPF 측정법에 있어서 널리 사용되어온 희석법과 박막법의 문제점에 대해 검토하였으며, 이들의 문제점을 극복하기 위하여 인체를 대상으로한 in vivo평가법과 측정 및 평가 등의 실험조건에 있어서 유사성을 갖는 in vitro평가법을 개발하였다. 이 새로운 in vitro 평가결과는 in vivo 평가결과와 0.93의 높은 상관계수를 나타내었다. 한편 이 in vitro 측정법의 유용성을 더욱 확인하기 위하여 TransporeR tape에 시료를 도포한 후 SPF-290 분석기를 이용한 측정결과와 비교한 결과 SPF20 이하의 시료일 경우 0.95 이상의 높은 상관계수를 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 광량을 일정하게 유지 시키고 광세기를 변화 시켜 홍반의 정도를 조사한 결과, 광세기와 홍반의 정도에는 관련이 없음을 알 수 있었다.

진달래나무의 입지선택에 관한 연구 (A study of the habitat preferences of the azalea, Rhododendron mucronulatum T.)

  • The ratio of occurrence of azalea (Rhododendron mucromultum T.) was determined on the north and south facing slopes on a mountain in Koyang county, Kyungi Province. Data was actually recorded at the eight aspects facing N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W and NW on the mountain. In each of the eight aspects, six 10m transect tapes were placed in parallel directly down the slope, each 1m apart, and fifty 1$m^2$ quadrats were constructed between them. Frequency of the azalea in each of these quadrats was determined by counting the central stumps of the bushes Soil samples were also taken from pits dug in each plot to use for determination of the following: Soil pH, soil moisture loss on ignition, total nitrogen, and available phosphorus. The occurrence rate of azalea on the northern slop e was found to be for higher on the northern slope than on the southern slope. The abundance of azalea on the northern slope was found to be partially correlated with soil moisture(r=0.93; 0.01>p) and the amount of humus in the soil (r=0.04;0.01>p). The content of total nitrogen, soil PH, and available phosphorus in the soil, however, were found to have no evident relationship with the abundance of azalea. The conditions for growth in the species of azalea Rhododendron mucronulatum T'. were generally found to be more favorable on the northern slope.

점증폴리머의 레올로지 특성이 마스카라 물성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Rheological Properties on Mascara by Water-soluble Gelling Agents)

  • 본 연구에서는 O/W 제형 마스카라에서의 레올로지 특성과 함께, 마스카라 내의 수상 폴리머에 따른 발림성과 볼륨과의 상관관계를 살펴보고자 하였다. 마스카라의 레올로지 특성은 최종 마스카라 내용물과 점증 수용액으로 측정하였으며, 수상 점증 폴리머는 hydroxyethylcellulose(HC), carboxymethylcellulose(CMC), hectorite, sodium magnesium silicate(SMS), hydroxyethyl acrylate/sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer(HS), polyacrylate 13/polyisobutene/polysorbate 20(PPP)를 사용하였다. 실험결과 2.0 wt%의 수용액 점도에서 아크릴계 점증 폴리머인 HS와 PPP가 가장 높은 부착력을 가졌으며, 이는 마스카라의 품질 특성 중 볼륨과 밀접한 관계를 가졌다. 또한 HC와 SMS, HS를 0.2 wt% 함유한 마스카라를 oscillation stress가 $1.0{\sim}1,000s^{-1}$의 범위에서 저장계수를 측정한 결과 높은 진동힘 구간인 $100{\sim}1,000s^{-1}$ 구간에서 SMS의 저장계수가 가장 낮게 측정되었고, 이는 마스카라 특성 중 발림성 항목과 밀접한 관계를 가진다. 이는 O/W제형의 마스카라에서 수상 점증제의 구조적인 특성이 마스카라 물성에 크게 영향을 주어 최종적으로 볼륨과 발림성 등의 사용감에도 큰 영향을 주고 있음으로 해석할 수 있다.

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis at Popliteal Regions of Human Body using BIMS

  • Bioelectrical impedance (BI) at popliteal regions was measured using a bioelectrical impedance measurement system (BIMS), which employs the multi-frequency and the two-electrode method. Experiments were performed as follows. First, a constant AC current of $800{\mu}A$ was applied to the popliteal regions (left and right) and the BI was measured at eight different frequencies from 10 to 500 kHz. When the applied frequency greater than 50 kHz was applied to human's popliteal regions, the BI was decreased significantly. Logarithmic plot of impedance vs. frequency indicated two different mechanisms in the impedance phenomena before and after 50 kHz. Second, the relationship between resistance and reactance was obtained with respect to the applied frequency using BI (resistance and reactance) acquired from the popliteal regions. The phase angle (PA) was found to be strongly dependent on frequency. At 50 kHz, the PA at the right popliteal region was $7.8^{\circ}$ slightly larger than $7.6^{\circ}$ at the left popliteal region. Third, BI values of extracellular fluid (ECF) and intracellular fluid (ICF) were calculated using BIMS. At 10 kHz, the BI values of ECF at the left and right popliteal regions were $1664.14{\Omega}$ and $1614.08{\Omega}$, respectively. The BI values of ECF and ICF decreased sharply in the frequency range of 10 to 50 kHz, and gradually decreased up to 500 kHz. Logarithmic plot of BI vs. frequency shows that the BI of ICF decreased noticeably at high frequency above 300 kHz because of a large decrease in the capacitance of the cell membrane.

  • 활성 슬러지 하수처리장의 주요 Process Control Variables인 Sludge age와 Sludge recycle올 고려하여 폐슬러지의 유량 ($Q_w$)을 효과적으로 결정하기 위한 두가지의 식이 개발되었다. 아울러 반송 슬러지의 일부를 폐슬러지로 배출할 경우에는 우선 순환비 (R)를, 포기조내의 활성슬러지의 일부를 폐슬러지로 배출할 경우에는 2차침전지의 슬러지 침전효율($S_f$)을 정확히 측정하여 개발된 식을 이용하면 폐슬러지의 유량을 용이하게 산정할 수 있다는 사실이 Sensitivity analysis의 결과로 밝혀졌다.
