Challenges in Structural Design of Bumeo W-project

  • W-Project is 60-story mixed-use residential building complex project in Daegu, the third biggest city in South Korea. There are lots explorable items to be solved to secure structural safety and meet the serviceability requirements. This paper describes what kind of structural system is optimized based on the architectural requirements and structural components design and the grade of concrete strength altered on floors. The defining process of lateral resisting system of outrigger compared to the core ratio of typical plan is illustrated in detail.

  • Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) started a fuel cell project to develop alternative sources of electric power because of the rapid increase in power demand and global environmental problems. For the development of a molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC), KEPCO started the project in 1993 to develop a 2 kW MCFC system and finished it at the end of 1996. In this project, $ASPEN^+$ was utilized to design the 2 kW MCFC generation system. Based on this simulation, a power generation system was designed and installed for operation and a long term test of internally manifolded 2 kW class MCFC stack. This stack has 20 cells with an effective electrode area of $1000\;cm^2$. It was run at 0.84 V and $150\;mA/cm^2$ and was operated for more than 3,250 hours continuously. This paper describes the system configuration and its control and measurement units. An analysis of the stack performance, the effect of gas utilization ratio, and the stack performance requirements are also discussed.

Designing Study on Techno-Economic Assessment of Solar Photovoltaic Mini-Grid Project in Nepal

  • This paper presents the comprehensive feasibility study of solar mini-grid project located in Bajhang District, Sudur Paschim Province, Nepal. The study has been conducted with the aim of developing a suitable size solar mini-grid system to meet electricity demand of proposed settlements of the village people. The study forecasts that the estimated average daily peak power consumption of load is about 20kW and average daily energy demand of load is about 100-150kWh/day in the base year 2022. The shared ratio of productive end uses is about 25% of the total power consumption and about 27% of the total energy demand, which will be used for small business/income generation activities and required 45kWp size solar power generation mini-grid system. The estimated project cost for the proposed 45kW solar mini-grid system technology, including 3 years of operation & maintenance, as well as power distribution network up to end user's premises is about 0.24 million USD. It is concluded that 45kWp photovoltaic mini-grid is feasible for the location.

  • For last three years, our research team have conducted the project named "Development of construction project management technology based on BIM/GIS platform. "We developed construction cost estimation system as well as 3D modeling engine at the first two year and established a web-system which could estimate the benefits of the project and further analyze the economic and financial feasibility of the project. This paper mainly focused on the functions and specifications of web-system. The system was composed of two modules: economic feasibility estimation module and financial feasibility estimation module. While the economic feasibility estimation module determines economic feasibility of the project based on traffic demand forecasting from the public's perspective, the financial feasibility estimation module determine financial viability of the project using toll fee of the road from private entity's perspective. Compared with traditional feasibility study, the proposed system provide users with better flexibility which can make users easily to validate the project upon the change of project environments. The system was also verified with an already accomplished project. The verification showed that proposed system could provide satisfactory accurate results with reduced time and resources.

난방을 위한 바닥용 건조 시멘트 모르타르의 혼합수량비 변화에 따른 품질 특성 (Quality of Dry Cement Mortar for Floor Heating Depending on Water-to-Dry Mortar Rutio)

  • 본 연구는 바닥 난방을 위한 바닥용 건조 시멘트 모르타르의 현장 혼합수량비(W/DM) 변화에 따른 각종 품질특성을 검토한 것이다. 연구결과, 바닥용 건조 시멘트 모르타르의 현장 시공은 현장에서 혼합하는 혼합수량의 증가에 따라 플로가 증가하고, 단위용적질량이 감소하는 일반적인 경향이며, 압축강도 및 건조수축 길이변화율은 혼합수량의 변동에 따라 바닥용 DM의 품질에 크게 영향을 미치기 때문에 적정 W/DM의 관리가 바닥용 DM의 시공 품질 확보에 있어서 매우 중요하다. 따라서, 바닥용 DM의 현장 시공시 작업자의 작업성만을 고려한 과도한 현장 W/DM 증가는 과도한 블리딩 및 재료분리 등으로 인해 바닥용 DM의 경화 후 품질저하를 초래할 수 있으므로 주의가 필요하다. 이상으로, 본 연구 범위의 실험결과를 종합하면, 현장 시공 시 바닥용 DM의 품질확보를 위한 현장 품질관리 기준으로는 W/DM 약 20%가 바람직한 것으로 판단되고, 이를 바탕으로 현장 여건에 따라 적정 혼합수량이 관리될 수 있다면 바닥용 DM의 양호한 품질확보가 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

교차류형 100W급 용융탄산염 연료전지 스택 장기운전평가 (Evaluation of Long Term Operation of Cross-flow Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell Stack)

  • 차세대의 새로운 발전방식인 용융탄산염형 연료전지 시스템개발 사업중 실용 스택개발을 위하여 전극유효연적이 $100cm^2$ 인 단위전지를 10단 적층한 Cross Flow형 MCFC스택을 제작하고 2성능측정설비를 구성하여 장기운전시험을 실시하였다 연료로는 $H_2/CO_2/H_2O$의 비율을 72%/18%/10% 로 조성한 가스를 이용하고 산화제가스로는 $O_2/CO_2$$Air/CO_2$ 비율이 33%/67%, 70%/30%가 되는 가스를 이용하여 운전할때의 초기성능 및 15A($150mA/cm^2$) 정부하 상태에서의 장기운전시험시의 전압 강하율을 조사하였다. 운전시간 310시간이 경과된 후의 스택전압은 8.39V이었고 이때의 출력은 125.8W를 보여주었다. 한편 1845시간이 경과한후 공기를 산화제로 이용하는 경우 전압은 6.95V로서 출력 104W를 나타내고 있다. 초기성능치에 의한 에너지 변환효율은 이용율이 40%인 경우 29.65%이었고 80%로 증가하는 경우 약 51.5%가 된다. 1840시간의 경과한때 까지의 전압 강하율은 약 52.4mV/1000hr로서 이전의 스택보다는 전압강하율이 감소되고 있으며 스택의 성능 저하의 주요한 요인은 개회로 전압의 저하로 내부단락동에서 기인하는 것으로 여겨진다. 또한 장기운전사 스택내부에서의 단위전지 전압분포가 균일하지 않음을 알 수 있어 이에 대한 개선을 필요로 한다.
