Development of Navigation Computer for Small Satellites Using Integrated GPS/INS (소형위성용 GPS/INS 통합 항법 컴퓨터 개발)

  • This paper suggests a GPS/INS navigation computer architecture that can be applied to small satellites. In order to implement a GPS/INS navigation system on a small satellite, the extreme environment in space such as radiation, micro-gravity, vacuum, etc. must be considered. In addition, a real-time processing ability is required for the GPS/INS navigation system since the formation flying of multiple small satellites is the ultimate goal. The developed navigation electronics utilizes a PowerPC-type MPC860T that has space environment heritage, and a pair of Atmega128s that has been implemented in KAUSAT-2 and has completed the space environment verification tests. The navigation algorithm is designed to work in VxWorks environment, ported in MPC860T.

Development of Operational Flight Program for Stores Management Computer (무장관리컴퓨터 탑재소프트웨어 개발)

  • We propose an application of the Object-Oriented design methodology to develop operational flight program(OFP) for stores management computer(SMC) which manages and controls stores inventory, stores activation, launch for missiles, and release of the conventional weapons. For the development of SMC, a military version of PowerPC 603e is used as a central processing unit board and VxWorks real-time operating system is used. The Tornado software development environment(SDE) and the programming language Ada95 are used for OFP development. We design three layerd in the OFP for the independency of the software modules. An avionics system computer(ASC) simulator and a test bench are developed for the SMC integration test and verification test. And the tests are rigorously and successfully conducted.

  • 최근 변전소 자동화 시스템에서 가장 큰 관심사는 종래의 인간의 개입을 최소화 할 수 있는 통합화, 자동화, 원격 감시화이다. 즉 변전소를 구성하는 장비들은 서로 다른 구조와 통신방식에서 벗어나 IEC61850 표준규격에서 제안하는 객체 모델링 및 통신프로토콜을 이용한 마이크로프로세서 기반의 IED를 개발하여 상호운용성을 확보하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 IEC61850기반의 간단한 과전류 계전 IED(OCR)를 개발하고 그 구현방법을 설명하였다. 구현을 위해 상용보드인 MVME5100에 실시간 운영체제인 VxWorks를 포팅하여 MMS(Manufacturing Message Specification), SMV(Sampled multicast value) GOOSE(Generic object oriented substation event) 통신모듈을 탑재하였고 과전류 계전 요소들을 논리장치 및 논리노드로 구현하였다. 또한 전력계통 시뮬레이터인 Hypersim을 이용하여 IEC61850기반의 리클로저, 액츄에이터, 병합장치를 구현하고 과전류 계전 IED의 성능을 검증하였다.

  • The Vehicle Dynamic Simulator(VDS) is a key equipment of the performance verification of attitude control subsystem and it simulates the real dynamic environment that spacecraft undergoes during mission operation. All the software models and hardware interfaces necessary for the closed-loop simulation of the spacecraft dynamics are implemented. Using VDS, KOMPAT-2 attitude control logic functions and performance was verified. In this paper, the hardware and software configurations of KOMPSAT-2 VDS was described briefly and the information flow and exchanges between software models and actual hardwares during close loop simulation was described in the systematic point of view.

  • 본 논문에서는 내장형 리눅스 기반의 PDA(Personal Digital Assistants)를 위한 MPEG-4 비디오 재생기를 제안한다. PDA는 CPU 및 메인 메모리, 디스플레이 장치가 일반 PC에 비해 제한적이다. 현재 다양한 멀티미디어 데이터를 처리하기 위해 WinCE, Epoc, VxWorks과 같은 운영체제들이 개발되었으나, 운영체제의 크기가 크고 상용이라서 구입비용이 많이 드는 문제가 있다. 또, 기존의 MPEG-1, MPEG-2 같은 비디오 데이터는 1편의 영화를 감상하기에는 데이터의 크기가 커서 자원이 제한된 PDA에서 재생하기가 어렵다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 실시간 운영체제인 내장형 리눅스를 탑재하여 PDA의 제한된 자원을 효율적으로 사용하도록 하며, 데이터 압축률이 뛰어난 MPEG-4 포맷의 비디오를 재생할 수 있는 내장형 리눅스기반의 MPEG-4 비디오 재생기를 제안한다. 제안하는 MPEG-4 비디오 재생기는 화상통신 및 화상회의를 이동 중에 할 수 있다. 또한 PDA를 위한 MPEG-4 스트리밍 서비스를 지원하는 시스템에 적용 가능하다.

  • 항공기에는 각각의 임무에 맞게 설계된 많은 종류의 임무컴퓨터(Mission Computer)가 존재한다. 여러 센서(Sensor)에서 전송되는 신호를 처리하는 기존의 단일코어 기반 임무컴퓨터는 항공기의 성능 향상에 따른 임무 요구도의 증대와 전장 환경의 변화에 따라 기내 데이터의 양이 급격히 증가하여 정보통신의 실시간성에 한계를 보인다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 운영체제인 VxWorks를 통해서 다중채널 ARINC-429 통신모듈을 실시간으로 제어하는 멀티코어 SBC(Single Board Computer) 테스트베드(Test-Bed)를 제시한다.

Compact Hardware Multiple Input Multiple Output Channel Emulator for Wireless Local Area Network 802.11ac

  • This paper proposes a fast-processing and low-cost hardware multiple input multiple output (MIMO) channel emulator. The channel emulator is an important component of hardware-based simulation systems. The novelty of this work is the use of sharing and pipelining functions to reduce hardware resource utilization while maintaining a high sample rate. In our proposed emulator, the samples are created sequentially and interpolated to ensure the sample rate is equal to the base band rate. The proposed 4 × 4 MIMO requires low-cost hardware resource so that it can be implemented on a single field-programmable gate array (FPGA) chip. An implementation on Xilinx Virtex-7 VX980T was found to occupy 10.47% of the available configurable slice registers and 12.58% of the FPGA's slice lookup tables. The maximum frequency of the proposed emulator is 758.064 MHz, so up to 560 different paths can be processed simultaneously to generate 560 × 758 million × 2 × 32 bit complex-valued fading samples per second.

  • In this fast-paced technological world, the Internet of Things is a ground breaking technology which finds an immense role in the present electronic world which includes different embedded sensors, devices and most other things which are connected to the Internet. The IoT devices are designed in a way that it helps to collect various forms of data from varied sources and transmit them in digitalized form. In modern era of IoT technology data security is a trending issue which greatly affects the confidentiality of important information. Keeping the issue in mind a novel light encryption strategy known as LCB is designed for IoT devices for optimal security. LCB exploits the benefits of Feistel structure and the architectural benefits of substitution permutation network both to give more security. Moreover, this newly designed technique is tested on (Virtex-7) XC7VX330T FPGA board and it takes much little area of 224 GE (Gate Equivalent) and is extremely fast with very less combinational path delay of 0.877 ns. An in-depth screening confirms the proposed work to promise more security to counter cryptographic attacks. Lastly the Avalanche Effect (AE) of LCB showed as 63.125% and 63.875% when key and plaintext (PT) are taken into consideration respectively.

  • Internet is absolutely contributed to information technology revolution nowadays. Internet services such as voice and data, etc. are provided home or small office via home gateway. The development of communication equipment via home gateway is implemented rapidly, and its product various. This paper presents the design and implementation of the VoIP equipment including the telephone function based on the embedded environment and being connected to the home gateway and the PC because of taking 2-ethernet LAN ports. As developing environment, the STLC1502 developed at ST Microelectronics as single chip solution, VxWorks as RTOS, and C language as coding mechanism are used. The verification of the developed systems for the voice test is carried out for the gatekeeper via Internet. The performance parameter is considered as the call processing capacity measuring the time of the call setup and clearing, and the data processing capacity for the file transfer. As a call setup and clearing is about 95ms, the call processing capacity is about 10 calls per second. The data processing capacity is 5.7Mbps in case of file transfer of server and client environment. Therefore the performance result is satisfied in the aspect of the call processing time and the data transfer time in Internet.

  • On today, optical system are the next generation weapon systems being studied in many countries, starting from USA. One of the most important technologies in optical system is a high-speed automatic target tracking system that can continuously track high-speed moving small targets. This paper designs an automatic target tracking system based on a correlated trekker that is robust against rapid shape changes for fast moving targets and small targets at a distance. The proposed system showed about 98% success rate in response to the targets that are under a complex background such as drone, ranger, etc.
