Purpose: This study was to investigate the relationship between self-esteem and satisfaction with volunteer work in a population of health care center volunteers. Ultimately, the results from this study would help to find ways to keep volunteers continuing their work. Methods: The participants of this study were 179 volunteers who were affiliated with three health care centers located in Gyeonggi-do. Descriptive statistics and multi-stage regression were conducted to analyze data. Results: Self-esteem was significantly associated with the satisfaction with volunteer activity. In addition, the relationship with clients rather than volunteers' general characteristics was also significantly related to the satisfaction with volunteer work. Conclusion: Therefore, it is necessary to increase a volunteer's self-esteem so that the volunteer can keep continuing his or her volunteering activities. Also, in order to promote good relationships between the volunteers and the clients, it will be important to teach communication skills to volunteers.

This study examines Korea's international development volunteer program as a citizen diplomacy initiative. Informed by a cultural perspective of transmission and relational models of public diplomacy, I examine the ways in which volunteer training incorporates cultural-learning into its program. The study finds that volunteer training is largely based on an instrumentalist approach to culture that places emphasis on learning the "explicit" side of culture, such as Korean traditional dance, art, and food as a strategy to promote the country's national image. In contrast, much less covered in the training program is a relational approach to culture-learning that is guided by a reflexive understanding of the "implicit" side of culture, or the values and beliefs that guide the worldviews and behavior of both volunteers and host constituents. Whereas the value of the volunteer program as a citizen diplomacy initiative is in its potential to build relationships based on two-way engagement, its conception of culture is mostly guided by that of the transmission model of public diplomacy. Based on the findings, this study calls for an integrated approach to culture-learning in volunteer training program to move the citizen diplomacy initiative forward.

본 연구는 단기해외봉사활동에 참여하였던 대학생을 대상으로 봉사활동경험의 의미와 본질을 탐구하고자 수행되었다. 자료는 K도에 소재한 일부 대학에 재학 중인 학생 14명을 2020년 5월 5일부터 8월 30일까지 면대면 심층면담을 통해 수집되었다. 면담자료는 Colaizzi(1978)의 현상학적 방법을 사용하여 분석하였으며 자료 분석 결과 10개 주제와 5개의 범주가 도출되었다. 5개 범주는 '해외봉사활동에 대한 기대감을 가짐', '환경은 다르지만 수용하며 다가감', '예상하지 못한 상황에 당황스러움', '활동의 한계를 자각함', '더 넓은 시야로 바라보게 됨'이다. 본 연구에서 대학생은 해외봉사활동을 통해 새로운 세계를 접하고 환경은 다르지만 수용하고 적응하면서 글로벌 시대에 필요한 좀 더 폭넓은 시야를 갖는 계기를 마련하였다.

Purpose - This study verified the mediating effect of volunteer activities in the influence of global citizenship consciousness on human rights sensitivity of university students majoring in business administration. Research design, data, and methodology - The survey was conducted on 172 4-year college students in G City, Korea. SPSS 23.0 program was used to perform frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis. In addition, path analysis was conducted to confirm the mediating effect of volunteer activities. Result - First, the "justice domain" had a statistically significant effect on human rights sensitivity. Second, the "cognitive domain" had a positive and significant effect on volunteer participation. Third, the volunteer participation of university students majoring in business administration had a positive and significant effect on human rights sensitivity. Fourth, in the relationship between global citizenship consciousness and human rights sensibility of university students, volunteer participation had a partial mediating effect. Conclusion - The period of college enrollment is an important time to establish life goals and strategies as adults. Therefore, if the university environment is built to grow into a healthy global citizen, it will help to cultivate global competence and the "sensitivity to human rights" that is more emphasized in the era of the 4th industrial revolution.

목적: 본 연구는 호스피스 자원봉사참여의 동기 및 결과에 대한 모형을 검증하여 자원봉사 참여활성화에 기여하고자 시도되었다. 방법: 조사는 2007년 한국호스피스협회 추계학술대회에 참석하는 자원봉사자 200명과 5개 호스피스 기관의 자원봉사자 132명을 대상으로 진행되었다. 결과: 연구결과를 요약하면 자원봉사참여도를 내생변수로 실존적 안녕감 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사참여도의 경로가 유의하였으며, 자원봉사지속성을 내생변수로 가치동기 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사지속성, 자원봉사참여도 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사지속성, 자원봉사만족도 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사지속성의 경로가 유의하였다. 또한 자원봉사만족도를 내생변수로 실존적 안녕감 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사만족도, 사회동기 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사만족도, 이해동기 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사만족도, 가치동기 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사만족도의 경로가 통계적으로 유의하였다. 간접효과의 경우 자원봉사지속성을 내생변수로 실존적안녕감 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사 참여정도 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사지속성, 실존적안녕감 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사만족도 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사지속성, 사회동기 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사만족도 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사지속성, 이해동기 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사만족도 ${\rightarrow}$ 자원봉사지속성의 경로가 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 호스피스 자원봉사자 들의 실존적 안녕감 증진을 위한 프로그램 개발, 이타적 가치추구 유도교육, 지적성장 격려, 친밀한 관계의 경험에 기초한 자원봉사활동, 지속적 봉사활동 유도에 대한 제언을 제시하였다.

본 연구의 목적은 K지역의 노인복지회관에서 자원봉사활동을 하고 있는 노인자원봉사자의 봉사경험을 내부자적 관점에서 이해하고 그 의미를 파악하는데 있다. 연구대상은 노인복지회관에서 자원봉사활동을 하고 있는 노인자원봉사자 15명과 2명의 사회복지사이고, 연구는 2009년 9월 2일부터 10월 21일까지 관찰과 심층면담을 통한 질적 연구방법을 사용하였다. 자료 분석은 질적 분석 프로그램인 Nvivo 2.0을 활용하였고, 분석된 자료는 Strauss와 Corbin의 근거이론에 따라 분석하였다. 연구결과, 노인의 자원봉사경험에 대한 의미는 크게 고령화 사회의 노인 정체성, 노인자원봉사를 통한 욕구 충족, 심신 건강을 돕는 다양한 여가활동, 노화에 대한 수용적 태도, 가족으로부터의 정서적 지지, 개인의 적성과 능력에 적합한 활동 찾기, 장애에 대한 인식 변화, 의미 있는 노년기를 보내기 위한 노력 등 8가지 요인으로 도출되었다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과와 논의를 통해서 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 노인자원봉사에 있어 고령화 사회의 노인 정체성, 노화에 대한 수용적 태도, 가족으로부터의 정서적 지지는 참여 유발 요소이다. 둘째, 노인자원봉사 활성화를 위해 개인의 적성과 능력에 적합한 활동이 이루어져야 한다. 셋째, 노인자원봉사 참여는 노인자원봉사를 통한 욕구충족, 심신건강을 돕는 여가활동, 장애에 대한 인식변화 등의 삶의 변화가 나타난다.

Although demands for people to promote quality of life have been increased, rural residents especially aged was very difficult to keep in touch with the public social service system. On the other hand, many volunteers belonged to non-profit organizations(NPOs) have contributed to deliver the social service to overcome restrictive public social service system. The purpose of this study was to compare volunteer activities of both of rural and urban women NPOs, and to suggest some programs to facilitate volunteer activities in rural area. For this study, the survey was conducted by interviews based on a closed questionnaire. The subjects of the survey were members of rural and urban women NPOs in Gangneung and Anseong districts. It was conducted from August 24 to October 31, 2006. Data were collected from 582 members, of which 562 data were analyzed. The major findings were follows: Rural women participated in volunteer activity of 7 fields a year, while urban women participated in 6.5 fields. But, only 15.8% of rural women volunteers was insured for accident during activities by local Volunteer Center, on the other hand, 53.2% of urban women volunteers was insured. This study suggested measures to support compensations (accident insurance and so on) for volunteer activities of rural women, and to put emphasis on some programs especially to encourage urban women`s activities for rural area.

지능정보기반의 신기술 사회변화 속에서 중년의 건강에 대한 연구는 우울과 안녕감 등 정신적인 건강 등에 대한 연구와 더불어, 인지건강에 대한 구체적인 척도로 구성된 연구의 필요성도 요구된다. 이 연구는 인지건강의 하위영역으로 사회적 정신적 신체적 인지건강의 내용을 포함하여 사용하였다. 본 연구에서는 중년여성을 대상으로 자원봉사활동이 인지건강에 얼마나 긍정적으로 작용하는 지를 알아보고자 하였다. '인지건강이 자원봉사활동을 통해서 중년여성에게 얼마나 바람직하게 작용할 것인가?'라는 문제를 중심으로 40세에서 59세까지의 중년여성을 대상으로 조사를 진행하였다. 자원봉사활동이 중년여성의 인지건강에 긍정적으로 작용되는지에 대해 검토하고 중년여성의 바람직한 삶의 유지와 노년의 건강한 삶을 영위하는데 필요한 자원봉사활동의 의미와 영향요소 등을 중심으로 분석하였다. 특히 중년여성의 자원봉사활동이 다양하고 적극적으로 이루어져야하는 필요성을 인식조사를 통해 검증하여 도출하였다.

본 연구의 목적은 미국 의용소방대 조직에서 의용소방대장의 주도적인 리더십 유형을 확인하고 소방대장의 리더십 유형과 조직성과간의 관계를 분석하는데 있다. 본 연구는 미국 중남부에 위치한 오클라호마주 의용소방대원 205명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구결과, 가장 일반적인 의용소방대장 리더십 유형은 변혁적 리더십인 것으로 나타났다. 두 번째는 거래적 리더십으로 분류되었고 방임형 리더십은 가장 낮은 빈도의 유형으로 분석되었다. 본 연구에서 변혁적 리더십과 거래적 리더십은 조직성과와 정(正)의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 방임형 리더십은 조직성과와 부(負)의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 현재의 의용소방대장과의 근무연수가 증가할수록 자신들의 리더에 대해 변혁적, 거래적 리더십 능력이 감소한다고 평가하고 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

목적: 인생의 말기는 삶을 영위하는 가운데 가장 중요한 부분 중의 한가지이다. 그런데 의사, 간호사를 포함한 의료진과 자원봉사자가 말기 환자에 대한 이해와 교육이 충분하게 이루어지지 않고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 호스피스 완화의료의 꽃으로 알려진 자원봉사자들에 대한 교육내용을 비교하고자 한다. 방법: 다양한 기관에서 자원봉사자들에 대한 교육이 실시하고 있으나 강의 내용과 강의 시수를 알 수 있는 전국 9개 기관의 교육내용을 분석 비교하였다. 결과: 평균 강의 시간은 21.56 ($14{\sim}30$)시간이었으며, 모든 기관에서 공통적으로 포함된 교육 내용은 호스피스 완화의료의 이해, 삶과 죽음에 대한 이해, 호스피스 대상자의 심리 이해 등이며, 온라인을 통한 교육이 1개 기관, 나머지 8개 기관에서는 집체교육을 통한 강의를 위주로 시행되고 있다. 결론: 자원봉사자들의 지역사회 참여의 활성화를 도모하여 말기 환자와 가족에게 제공되는 서비스를 질적으로 강화시키기 위하여 자원봉사자를 위한 교육과정의 목표와 교육내용, 교육시간, 교육기관으로서의 인정평가 등에 대한 전반적인 표준화가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.
