NC 밀링머신의 Volumetric 오차보상을 통한 포물면 가공의 정밀도 향상 (Enhancement of a parabolic face working accuracy using volumetric error compensation of NC milling machine)

  • One of the major limitations of productivity and quality in machining is machining accuracy of the machine tools. The machining accuracy is affected by geometric, volumetric errors of the machine tools. This paper suggests the enhancement method of machining accuracy for precision machining of high quality metal reflection mirror or optics lens, etc. In this paper, we study 1) the compensation of linear pitch error with NC controller compensation function using laser interferometer measurement, 2) the method for enhancing the accuracy of NC milling machining by modeling and compensation of volumetric error, 3) the generation of the parabolic face profile. And the method is verified by the parabolic face machining experiment with a vertical three axes NC milling machine. After this study, we will inspect using On-machine measurement and study the repetitive machining by a compensated path

유량계 교정장치의 측정불확도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Measurement Uncertainty of Flowmeter Calibrator)

  • The standard uncertainty of flowrate measurement is obtained by combining that of independent variables. Gravimetric and volumetric method were applied to determine the flowrate and the standard uncertainties of flowrate measurement by both methods were evaluated in accordance with the procedure recommended by International Organization for Standardization. The combined standard uncertainties of determining the flowrate were estimated from the sensitivity coefficient and the standard uncertainty of independent variables. For practical application, the methods for evaluating and expressing uncertainty in flow measurement were discussed. It was found that the uncertainties of the weighing and time measurement in gravimetric method, the volume and time measurement in volumetric method have dominant influence on that of flowrate measurement. With the quantitative analysis of the sensitivity coefficient, the contribution of the each variable uncertainty to the combined standard uncertainty of flowrate measurement is shown clearly.

  • Technique of length measurement error is widely used in the accuracy assessment of CMMS(Coordinate measuring machines) and machine tools, as it is simple and direct measurement within the working volume of a machine. In this paper, a new method is proposed for the evaluation of the length measurement error in relation to the volumetric accuracy. lD, 2D, and 3D measuring lines are considered for recpective length measurement error: 1D, 2D, and 3D length measurement uncertainties are evaluated from volumetric accuracy. The relationship between the volumetric accuracy md length measurement error to is discussed. PC based system for length measurement error evaluation and simulation is developed.

  • Volumetric efficiency is a determining factor for tile measurement of compessor capacity, but it is practically hard to take an accurate measurement of capacity characteritics so that most of users trust the data of makers catalogue. We often realized the discrepancy in their data with actual capacity. This study was attemped to establish the basic data of capacity characteristics of compressor by measuring volumetric efficiency of high speed multi-cylinder compressor and rotary compressor. The volumetric efficiency was calculated based on the quantity of the flow of ammonia vapor and pressure difference in suction state of orifice plate and compressor. The volumetric efficiency of high speed multi-cylinder compressor was $37-61\%$ and that of rotary compressor was $57-82\%$ when compression ratio was in the range of 4-12. The discrepancy in volumetric efficiency at an equal evaporating temperature between the makers catalogue and the measured data was $5.5\%$.

  • To improve the accuracy of products and improve the product quality, we need to enhance the machining accuracy of the machine tools. To this point of view, measurement and inspection of finished part as well as error analysis of machine tools has been studied for last several decades. OMM(On the Machine Measurement) has been issued to alternate with CMM, pointing out disadvantages of high expenses and lots of setting time in CMM. In this paper, we study 1) the spherical surface manufacturing by volumetric error compensation of machine tool, 2) the system development of OMM without detaching work piece from a bed of machine tool after working. 3) the generation of the finished part profile by On the machine measurement. Furthermore, the output of OMM is compared with that of CMM, and verified the feasibility of the measurement system.

  • Machining information such as machined form and surface roughness accuracy is an important factor for manufacturing precise parts. To this regard, OMM(On the Machine Measurement) has been issued for last several decades to alternate with CMM. In this research, measuring system consisting of a laser probe is developed for machined form and surface roughness measurement on the machine tool. The obtained machined form accuracy is compared with reference one defined in CAD model. The measured surface roughness data is compared with measured master surface beforehand. Furthermore, using the pre-defined volumetric error map approach compensates the geometric accuracy of the machine tool. The overall performance is compared with CMM, and verified the feasibility of the measurement system.

  • For carbon neutrality, direct-injection hydrogen engines are attracting attention as a future power source. It is essential to estimate the transient injection rate of hydrogen for the optimization of hydrogen injection in direct injection engines. However, conventional injection rate measurement techniques for liquid fuels based on the injection-induced fuel pressure change in a test section are difficult to be applied to gaseous fuels due to the compressibility of the gas and the sealing issue of the components. In this study, a momentum flux measurement technique is introduced to obtain the transient injection rate of gaseous fuels using a force sensor. The injection rate calculation models associated with the momentum flux measurement technique are presented first. Then, the volumetric injection rates are estimated based on the momentum flux data and the calculation models and compared with those measured by a volumetric flow rate meter. The results showed that the momentum flux measurement can detect the injection start and end timings and the transient and steady regimes of the fuel injection. However, the estimated volumetric injection rates showed a large difference from the measured injection rates. An alternative method is suggested that corrects the estimated injection rate results based on the measured mean volumetric flow rates.

  • Volumetric error measurement and calibration of a coordinate measuring machine are studied by using a Ball-Bar artifact. Examples of the Ball-Bar design are shown using inbar materials and precision steel balls. Also, for the uncertainty error using the Ball-Bar is discussed. Method of Ball-Bar artifact and the analysis of the error vectors are proposed. Using the Ball-Bar data, we studied the method of volumetric errors ana]ysis of a coordinate measuring machine.

  • For volumetric error measurement and calibration for machine tools, manufacturing machine or coordinate measuring machine (CMM), are studied using a Ball-bar artifact. A design of the Ball-bar is suggested manufactured by Invar, which is a low thermal expansion material, and precision steel balls. The uncertainty for the artifact method is discussed. A method of the Ball-bar artifact for obtaining 3-D position errors in CMM is proposed. The method of error vector measurement is shown using the Ball-bar artifact. Finally, the volumetric error is calculated from the error vectors and it can be used for Pitch error compensation in conventional NC machine and 3-D position Error map for calibration of NC machine tools.
