Measurement of Ultrasonic Wave Velocity Changes in Silica-Sand Specimens with Voids (공극을 포함한 실리카샌드 시편의 초음파 속도변화 측정)

  • In order to examine the effect of voids on the ultrasonic wave velocity, specimens made of Silica-Sand with voids were prepared for the measurements. The volume fraction of 0, 15, and 30% of voids were used to compare the differences. Because of its more homogeneous distribution of materials properties, the Silica-Sand specimens were used, as compared to mortar specimens. The results showed clear change in ultrasonic wave velocity with different volume fraction of voids. This result is to be used for the estimation of the integrity of concrete structures using ultrasonic wave velocity method as nondestructive testing.

  • Although the carbonation problem of high-volume slag concrete has been solved by the mixed use of emulsified refine cooling oil as the pilot study, there was an instance of securing air quantity and frost resistance followed by the use of Expancel due to the problem of having vulnerability in frost resistance in result as the air quantity has not been secured. But due to the problem of Expancel not being economical, air quantity and frost resistance of high-volume slag concrete mixed with ERCO are attempted to be secured using micro bubble that can remain in the water for a long time as a relatively economical and very microscopic bubble.

  • This paper is to investigate the effect of waste oil on the fundamental properties of high volume fly ash concrete depending on W/B and waste oil contents. Test results reveals that the use of waste oil resulted in an increase of slump and a decrease of air contents due to the presence of emulsion in waste oil. And it is found that the addition of waste oil does not affect the strength development of the concrete significantly.

  • As this study is an experiment for solving problem on the carbonation acceleration of high volume admixture concrete, the capillary pore getting filled up by saponification as cooking oil gets absorbed to the concrete surface in case of applying a cooking oil based coating agent to the concrete has been verified in the previous studies. Accordingly, this study has performed a comparative experiment on the cooking oil and the anticorrosive coating agent sold on the market while the result followed by this experiment has shown the fact of indicating similar carbonation penetration depth and porosity.

  • For the decades, various of materials were used to instead of cement as the high volume CO2 occurred during the process of cement manufacture. In this paper, incineration plant ash was used in the mortar which incorporating high volume of blast furnace slag. Water to binder ratio(W/B) is fixed as 50%,BS+RP's replacement ratio is fixed as 80%,and the replacement ratio of WA1 is range as 0,0.5,1,2,3,4,5%.For the fresh mortar, flow and chloride contents has been tested. For the hardened mortar, compressive strength at 3,7,28 days has been tested. the result shows that when the replacement ratio of WA1 is 0.5%,the chloride contents is less than 0,3 kg/m3,the flowability and strength also performed better than other replacement types of mortar.

  • This paper is to investigate the effect of waste cooking oil(WCO) on carbonation resistance of high volume fly ash and blast furnace slag concrete. WCO and paint were applied for carbonation resistance materials. As expected, the application of WCO to the concrete help it reduce carbonation depth remarkably, regardless of mixture types. This may be due to the fact that WCO makes the capillary pore block by activating saponification. It is found that the degree of carbonation reduce due to WCO is much higher than the case by Paint.

  • The spherical bead manufactured by rapidly cooling process shows high density of 3.64g/㎤, high unit volume weight of 2.6kg/l, and high solid volume of 71%. When it applies to the grouter, it is possible to obtain even high fluidity with only a small amount. This study, focusing the grouter using a rapidly-cooled electric arc furnace oxidizing slag(RC-EAFS), deals with the properties of flow and setting time in fresh state, compressive strength and length variation at 1, 3, 7 and 28 curing day in hardened state. As the results, even though the grouter with RC-EAFS shows comparative low strength, it will be possible to development the competitive product due to the properties of increasing flow and low cost.

  • In this research by examining the influence that low quality aggregate has on the strength of concrete through testing, the lowering of strength according to use of low quality coarse aggregate was reviewed. The results showed that when using low quality coarse aggregate, due to the quality of aggregate a high volume of units was required, and this caused the compression strength to be lowered. In conclusion it was confirmed that if the low quality aggregate was used as is without mix correction this would lead to faulty construction and if the aggregate was corrected to about 60 kg/m3 mix correction, this would lead to an economically infeasible concrete mix.

  • In reflection of road expansion and increasing use rates, interest has blossomed in predicting driving environment. In addition, a gigantic scale of big data is applied to almost every area around the world. Recently, technology development is being promoted in the area of road traffic particularly for traffic information service and analysis system in utilization of big data. This study examines actual cases of road management systems and road information analysis technologies, home and abroad. Based on the result, the limitations of existing technologies and road management systems are analyzed. In this study, a development direction and expected effort of the prediction of road information are presented. This study also examines regression analysis about relationship between guide name and traffic volume. According to the development of driving environment prediction platform, it will be possible to serve more reliable road information and also it will make safe and smart road infrastructures.

  • The purpose of the study was to analyze dry shrinkage of HVFAC (high volume fly ash concrete) with admixture to improve early strength. The results were as follows. In dry shrinkage of HVFAC with admixture to improve early strength, F3 had the lowest amount of dry shrinkage. The next is in order of Plain, F3-f15 and F3-f15r5. The study used index function modelfor analysis on dry shrinkage. Coefficient of determination was more than 0.97 in all mix, which made it possible to have a good estimation.
