실린더 및 확장 소스 PENELOPE 시뮬레이션에 대한 동시합성보정 계수 유용성 평가 (Evaluate the usefulness of Coincidence Summing Correction Factors for Cylinder and Extended Source Penelope Simulation)

  • PENELOPE Code를 사용하여 에너지 및 효율 교정하기 위해 부피선원을 사용하여 PENELOPE simulation 하였다. 여기서 동시 계측 보정하여 피크 효율 및 유용성을 검증하고자 한다. 모든 부피에 대한 일치 합산 보정을 계산을 위해 먼저 실린더 및 마리넬리 비커 4개의 부피를 3개의 높이로 다시 세분화 한다. 따라서 3개의 영역에서의 동시계측보정계수와 부피선원 전체에 대한 동시계측보정계수가 출력t으로 산출하게 된다. 부피선원의 영역별 효율 정보를 포함한 검출기입력파일은 Penelope 시뮬레이션을 사용하여 획득한다. 낮은 에너지에서는 각 소스 체적(50~300 ml)에 대한 J값이 작고 높은 에너지 범위에서는 크게 증가한다. 시뮬레이션 결과 최대 4%인 50 ml 및 300 ml를 제외하고 모든 선원 부피에 대해 2.5% 이내에서 잘 일치하였다. 이는 계측 시 동시계측효과에 대한 보정이 실효성이 있음을 의미한다. 또한, 이를 기반으로 다양한 선원 및 환경시료 측정 시 검출 효율성을 개선할 수 있는 이점이 있음을 확인할 수 있다.

활성탄관에 포집된 극성 및 비극성 유기용제 분석시 탈착용매 종류에 따른 탈착효율 비교 (A comparison of desorption efficiency by types of solvent for polar and non-polar organic compounds collected on activated charcoal tube)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate desorption efficiencies by types of desorption solvent for polar and non-polar organic compounds collected on activated charcoal tubes. Analytes tested were toluene, m-xylene, isobutyl alcohol, n-butyl alcohol, cellosolve acetate, and butyl cellosolve. Three different concentration levels of spiked sample were made. Types of cosolvent mixed with the main solvent, $CS_2$, were methanol, pentanol, and dimethylformamide (DMF) and the cosolvent for methylenechloride was methanol. The amounts of cosolvent added to the main solvent were 1, 5, and 10% by volume (v/v%), respectively. The results were as follows: 1. For all mixed solvents except 1% methanol and 1% pentanol with $CS_2$, desorption efficiency significantly increased, compared with that of $CS_2$ alone. 2. Desorption efficiency increased by increasing analyte loading on charcoal tube regardless of mixed solvents used and the material polarity. 3. For all cosolvents mixed with $CS_2$ by 1% and 5% volume, desorption efficiency for non-polar compound was significantly higher than that of polar compound. For the 10% mixed solvents and the methylenechloride mixed with methanol, the results were opposite. 4. The lowest mean percent bias of 4.79% was obtained from the 5% DMF-$CS_2$ mixed solvent, followed by 4.82% from the 10% DMF-$CS_2$ solvent while the highest bias of 23.26% was from the solvent of $CS_2$ alone. Based on the results of this study, in order to increase desorption efficiency, it is recommended to add such cosolvents as methanol, pentanol, and DMF to $CS_2$, preferably 5% by volume for analyzing polar compounds collected in charcoal tubes.

Detection of voluminous gamma-ray source with a collimation beam geometry and comparison with peak efficiency calculations of EXVol

  • In this study, we expanded the performance of the existing EXVol code and performed empirical experiments and calculations. A high-resolution gamma spectroscopy system was constructed, and a standard point source and a standard volume source were measured with an HPGe detector with 43.1% relative efficiency. EXVol was verified by quantitative comparison of the detection efficiencies determined by measurements and calculations. To introduce the concept of the detector scanning that occurs in the actual measurement into the EXVol code, a collimator was placed between the source and detector. The detection efficiency was determined in the asymmetric arrangement of the source and detector with a collimator. A collimator made of lead with a diameter of 15 mm and a thickness of 50 mm was installed between the source and the detector to determine the detection efficiency at a specific location. The calculation result was contour plotted so that the distribution of detection efficiency could be visually confirmed. The relative deviation between the measurements and calculations for the coaxial and asymmetric structures was 10%, and that for the collimation structure was 20%. The results of this study can be applied to research using γ-ray measurements.

지하수정호와 결합한 복합지열시스템의 열교환 효율에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Heat Exchange Efficiency of Combined Well & Open-Closed Loops Geothermal System)

  • The temperature of underground water generally remains constant regardless of the season. therefore, it is possible to get plenty of energy if we use characteristics of underground water for both cooling and heating. This study evaluates efficiency of real size coaxial and U-tube type complex geothermal system which is combined with underground water well. This study also evaluates relative efficiency/adaptability through comparison with existing geothermal systems(vertical closed loop system, open loop system(SCW)). The heat exchange capacity of complex geothermal system according to temperature difference between circulating water and underground water shows very high significance by increasing proportionally. The temperature change of underground water according to injection energy, shows very high linear growth aspect as injection thermal volume heightens. As a result of evaluation of heat exchange volume between complex geothermal system and comparative geothermal system, coaxial type has 26.1 times greater efficiency than comparative vertical closed type and 2.8 times greater efficiency than SCW type. U-tube type has 26.5 tims greater efficiency than comparative vertical closed type and 2.8 times greater than SCW type as well. This means complex geothermal system has extremely outstanding performance.

경제성분석시 통행시간절감편익 개선방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Ways to Improve Benefits of Travel-time in Analyzing the Economic Efficiency)

  • 본 연구는 경제분석기법에서 편익항목의 통행시간절감편익의 개선안을 살펴보았다. 기존의 경제성분석 시 통행시간절감편익의 계산방법은 피크시간대의 O/D를 이용하여365를 곱하여 산정하고 있다. 이 계산방법의 문제점은 요일에 대한 교통량변화, 달에 대한 교통량변화를 고려하지 못하는 것이다. 이러한 분석점을 개선하기 위하여, 군집분석과 t-검증을 통하여 달별, 요일별 비슷한 교통량 패턴이 가지는 것끼리 묶었다. 이러한 결과값은 요일별과 월별로 교통량의 차이가 발생하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 요일별, 월별 가중치를 적용하여 pilot 예제를 통해 통행시간절감분을 계산하였더니 기존의 방법에 비해 다소 적게 도출되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 교통량의 변화패턴을 고려한 가중치 연구에 의의를 둘 수 있다.

  • Analyzed Parametrically was an internal combustion engine combined with gas turbine the cycle of which is splitted into compression side cylinder and expansion side one, and heat adding of which is during constant volume pressure, temperature process. The advantages of each measures were analyzed by means of thermal cycle diagram. The thermal efficiency of partial load cutting off firstly isothermal heat adding and secondly isobaric heat adding also was analyzed The authors suggested some potentials about the performance as for thermal efficiency, mean effective pressure and reducing emissions and noise supposed were the operating parameter of the engine set to some values and were some problems solved.

교차로 유형별 대각선횡단보도 설치효과 분석 (차량소통측면) (Analysis of the Effects of Scrambled Crosswalk Installation Depending on the Types of Intersections Using VISSIM)

  • PURPOSES : In this study, the effects of installation of diagonal crosswalks on traffic flow depending on the types of intersections are analyzed. METHODS : Scrambled crosswalks have advantages in the traffic safety. Therefore, a comparative analysis of the overall average delay before and after installation of the scrambled crosswalk was conducted using VISSIM. RESULTS : The overall average delay for the scrambled crosswalk decreased when the traffic volume ratio of the major to the minor street is 1: 6 in 2-by-1 and 3-by-1 types of intersections. The scrambled crosswalk improved efficiency of traffic operation in intersections: higher traffic volume for a major street, lower traffic volume for a minor street, and longer cross-distance for a major street. CONCLUSIONS:This study can be used to determine when a scrambled crosswalk should be installed to improve operational efficiency.

전동차 공조기 덕트 내의 유동특성에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical study on the flow characteristics in Air-conditioner duct of EMU)

  • The inside of EMU is supplied with the cooling air from air-conditioner and the fresh air from exterior through the air-conditioner duct which is one of the air conditioning system. The shape of air-conditioner duct is a major factor in determining the air-conditioning efficiency, thermal comfort and energy efficiency. Therefore, this study is to understand the flow characteristics in the air-conditioner duct by three dimensional numerical simulation. The air-conditioner duct was calculated for the design volume flow rate, $2,726\;m^3/h/unit$. From the result of calculation and measurement, the velocity at diffuser outlet presented good agreement in general. [n this present study, the calculation was also performed for three volume flow rate(1,800, 2,200, 3,000 $m^3/h/unit$) and total pressure characteristic curve with volume flow rate was presented.

  • On trends of 'well-being', heat recovery ventilators(HRV) are recently installed in high rise buildings. HRV is not energy saving instrument but ventilating one. But many people have not been aware of the accurate fact. In this study, performances of HRV are tested under foreign and domestic standards. Especially air-tightness is measured three times by using gas concentration method and pressing equipment. Wet effective ventilating air volume is acquired by solving gas concentration equations. After research air-tightness and effective ventilating air volume must be more focused on than heat transfer efficiency to select the optimal HRV. Heat transfer efficiency must be adjusted by air-tightness results.

무가선 트램용 추진 전동기 설계 및 특성 비교 (Comparison of Traction Motor design and characteristics for battery driven hybrid tram)

  • The latest generation of tram is low-floor design, various nations in europe and japan have developed battery driven hybrid trams that combine battery and wiring. Battery driven tram system is achieved by contactless power supply system, thus system is needed high efficiency, high power and low weight traction motor for maximization of energy efficiency. Research from abroad is still in induction motor(IM) application, and it is not meet the efficiency and the power per unit volume in IPMSM. In this paper, we design compare IM and IPMSM to apply battery driven tram, and then compare these motors. To design the motor, we estimate the loading condition at first. Loading condition includes rolling resistance, air-drag resistance, and slope resistance. Based on the loading condition by estimation, we determine the power and compute rated voltage and rated current. In this paper, voltage is limited by battery voltage level. As a result, volume about IM is 1.98 times bigger than IPMSM under same condition. Even though IPMSM is bigger than IM in power density per volume, we consider more factors for actual application because there are demagnetization of permanent magnet in IPMSM and so on by external environment conditions.
