A Study on Improvement Effect of voice information transmission using Auralization at the hydraulic turbine dynamo room in Dam (가청화를 이용한 댐 수차 발전기실의 음성정보전달 개선효과에 관한 연구)

  • Even though Waterpower Generation as pollution-free has its own merit of contribution by supply of good quality electricity, due to the noise made at the time of its operation, a normal mutual communication among the workers and technicians engaging at the hydraulic turbine dynamo room is almost impossible, and since those finishing materials had been used mainly by reflection material, it is actual situation that when working for maintenance in the hydraulic turbine dynamo room, as counterpart's voice vibrates, its working efficiency is difficult to ensure. On such view point, this Research has conducted Psycho-acoustics Experiment about voice Definition using Auralizational Technique, on the object for the hydraulic turbine dynamo room that improved its acoustic performance by computer simulation. As the result of Study, it was known that the clearness of sound with regard to voice information transmission was apparently improved in all items than before improvement. Therefore, it is considering that these results would be utilized usefully when renovation on the hydraulic turbine dynamo room in the future.

Voice Similarities between Brothers

  • This paper aims to provide a guideline for modelling speaker identification and speaker verification by comparing voice similarities between brothers. Five pairs of brothers who are believed to have similar voices participated in this experiment. Before conducted in the experiment, perceptual tests were measured if the voices were similar between brothers. The words were measured in both isolation and context, and the subjects were asked to read five times with about three seconds of interval between readings. Recordings were made at natural speed in a quiet room. The data were analyzed in pitch and formant frequencies using CSL (Computerized Speech Lab), PCQuirer and MDVP (Multi -dimensional Voice Program). It was found that data of the initial vowels are much more similar and homogeneous than those of vowels in other position. The acoustic data showed that voice similarities are strikingly high in both pitch and formant frequencies. It was also found that the correlation coefficient was not significant between parameters above.

  • This paper deals with voice similarities between sisters who are supposed to have common physiological characteristics from a single biological mother. Nine pairs of sisters who are believed to have similar voices participated in this experiment. The speech samples obtained from one pair of sisters were eliminated in the analysis because their perceptual score was relatively low. The words were measured in both isolation and context, and the subjects were asked to read the text five times with about three seconds of interval between readings.   • The existence communications of vessel focused on voice, FAX, ISDN, etc. using satellite on the existent most communications on the ships, and recently, the ships need high quality smart communication service environments. In the results of experiments using the existent system, it could access on board, but in the closed room of vessel, was impossible to access e-mail and smart apps except voice communication. In the present paper, we implemented a novel communication system that can access voice, text, e-mail, file, vessel monitoring apps, etc. It consists of a convergent communication terminal combined with satellite and communication for Smartphone, and smart communication environment on the closed room. As the results, we can access a variety of smart communication in anywhere on board.

  • In realization of wireless home network system using speech recognition in indoor voice recognition environment, background noise and reverberation are two main causes of digression in voice recognition system. In this study, the home network system resistant to reverberation and background noise using voice section detection method based on spectral entropy in indoor recognition environment is to be realized. Spectral subtraction can reduce the effect of reverberation and remove noise independent from voice signal by eliminating signal distorted by reverberation in spectrum. For effective spectral subtraction, the correct separation of voice section and silent section should be accompanied and for this, improvement of performance needs to be done, applying to voice section detection method based on entropy. In this study, experimental and indoor environment testing is carried out to figure out command recognition rate in indoor recognition environment. The test result shows that command recognition rate improved in static environment and reverberant room condition, using voice section detection method based on spectral entropy.

  • Recently, on account of stress relief and settlement of a healthy drinking culture, many people are visiting a song practice room. In case of such song practice room, since the mechanical voice through a loud accompaniment-music and microphone is on using, there has made a very loud noise, and it influences a lot to the adjacent other space and song practice room booth. Consequently, from the designing stage an efficient measures for soundproof and sound-insulation should be arranged. However, as most of the song practice room wall-bodies that already built up or under construction step were constructed merely with consideration on an interior-wise factor only, it is suffering at the soundproof and sound-insulation. Reflecting such viewpoint, this Study has measured Sound Transmission Loss on the subject for the song practice room wall-body recently built up, and based on the actually measured data, by practice of comparison?analysis on it using various evaluation methods, would intends to present a fundamental material for establishment an efficient sound-insulation measure.

Development of smartphone-based voice therapy program (스마트폰기반 음성치료 프로그램 개발연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a smartphone based voice therapy program for patients with voice disorders. Contents of voice therapy were collected through analysis of mobile contents related to voice therapy in Korea, experts and users' demand survey, and the program was developed using Android Studio. Content needed for voice therapy was collected through analysis of mobile contents related to voice therapy. The user satisfaction evaluation for application was conducted for five patient with functional voice disorders. The results showed that the mobile contents related to voice therapy in Korea were mostly related to breathing, followed by voice and singing, but only 13 applications were practically practiced for voice therapy. Expert and user demand surveys showed that the patients and therapists both had a high need for content that could provide voice training in places other than the treatment room. Based on this analysis, 'Home Voice Trainer', an smartphone based voice therapy program, was developed. Home Voice Trainer is an application for voice therapy and management based on Android smartphones. It is designed to train voice therapy activities at home that have been trained offline. In addition, the records of voice training of patients were managed online so that patients can maintain voice improvement through continuous voice consulting even after the end of voice therapy. User evaluations show that patients are satisfied with the difficulty and content of voice therapy programs provided by home voice trainers, but lack of a portion of user interface, such as the portion of home button and interface between screens. Further study suggests the clinical application of home voice trainer to the patients with voice disorders. It is expected that the development study and the clinical application of smart contents related to voice therapy will be actively conducted.

Study on Motivation and Satisfaction of Voice Chat Service (음성채팅서비스사용자의이용동기와만족감)

  • Nowadays, online messengers are the main communication tool of modern people. Currently, not only messengers that communicate based on text and images, but also services that can interact in real time through voice or screen sharing are actively used by the MZs. This study aims to figure out 1) the motivation of users of voice chat services, and 2) to explore the influence of motivation for use on satisfaction that one of the factors that determine the user's experience. As a result, five major motivations for using voice chat service(Relationship formation, Usefulness, Relationship maintenance, communication supplementation, and distance overcoming) were found. Among them 'Usefulness' and 'Relationship maintenance had a positive effect on user satisfaction. This study, highlighted the various needs of users who communicate in a non-face-to-face environments as well as factors to be satisfied for their positive experiences. These results should be actively used in the online communications market.

A Robust Stereophonic Acoustic Echo Canceler Using Delayless Subband Adaptive Filter

  • This paper proposes a new stereophonic acoustic echo canceler with deploying delayless subband adpative filters. Due to the storong correlation between stereo signals, a stereophonic acoustic echo canceler is suffering from the slow convergence and the misalignment for estimating impulse responses corresponding to true echo paths at receiving room. Specially, dual adaptive filters for echo cancellation are significantly affected by the abrupt change of the transmission room environment so that the impariments on voice communication could be experienced. To prevent these performance degradations, this paper proposes a robust subband echo canceler employing pre-processing block so as to enhance the convergence speed and provide the insusceptibility to the environment change at transmission room.

  • This thesis describes the method for well voice announcement using the TTS(Text-To-Speech) technology in the shop music broadcasting service. Offering a high quality TTS sound service for each shop requires a great expense. According to a report on the architectural acoustics the room acoustic indexes such as reverberation time and early decay time are closely connected with a subjective awareness about acoustics. By using the result the customers will be able to recognize better the voice announcement by applying sound effect to speech files made by TTS. The result of an aural comprehension examination has shown better about almost all of the parameters by applying reverb effect to TTS sound.
