Fire Drill on Virtual Reality Using GIS Technology (GIS를 이용한 가상모의 소방훈련)

  • The vitual reality technology to assist fire activities has been developed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). For this, the 3D-geographic information of Nagasaki city, Japan was constructed from tracing the aerial photograph and adding the height information of measured buildings including stairs. And also, with large multi-plane stereo presentation equipment called Immersible Projection Technology (IPT), and the 3D-digital map was presented in actual scale of town. As the result, the observer could obtain three-dimensional information in the various angles as if we can gain our experience at first hand, it will help to assist fire activities.

  • The Six Degree-of-Freedom manipulators are generally operated by linear actuators which are hydraulic cylinder, pneumatic cylinder, ball-screw. But these actuators are not adequate to have a wide work-space, and furthermore some of them have a self-locking property. Therfore, we have designed a new manipulator which fully overcomes these demerits. The new manipulating system consists of 6 DC-motors to generate operation forces and 6 position transducers to feedback displacement signals. This paper presents an overview of the design and characteristics of 6 Degree-of-Freedom force feedback manipulators for vitual reality implementation. we can operate Six Degree-of-Freedom manipulator with six motors and six potentiometers.

  • 인터넷상에서 3차원 가상공간을 구현할 때는 VRML(Vitual Reality Modeling Language)을 이용하여 표현할 수 있다. 그러나 VRML 만을 이용하면 단일 사용자에 한하여 사용되고,간단한 채팅이나 다른 사용자의 움직임을 처리할 수 가 없다. 그러므로 자바 애플릿을 사용하여 다중 참여가 가능한 웹 페이지를 작성하여 보다 현실적인 가상공간을 만들 수 있게 된다. 본 논문은 VRML로 가상공간 저작시 자바 애플릿을 이용하여 다중참여가 가능한 웹 페이지를 설계하고 구현하는 방법으로, EAI(External Authoring Interface)를 이용하여 외부의 자바 애플릿으로 VRML세계를 제어함으로써 사용자의 움직임과 입력에 따른 처리와 다른 참여자들의 행위까지 나타낼수 있도록 저작하여 다중 참여를 구현한다. 다중 참여를 지원하는 가상공간을 구축함과 동시에 기존의 VRML 브라우저를 이용하기 때문에 응용이 용이하게 되며 3차원 채팅과 가상교육 각종 게임 등의 분야에 활용할 수 있다.

  • In this study, we tried to develop STEAM integrated program using virtual reality(VR) equipment and to evaluate the learners' satisfaction in order to cultivate the convergent talent. The pre-test and the post-test were used to compare the mean scores of the assessed candidates and sub-areas. The post-test results were higher than pre-test results. The area with statistically significant mean height was derived as the 'self-concept' area of 'science' which is a sub-area of 'care and communication'.
