  • This study investigated the modeling of dissolution Diesel to estimate the behavior of contaminants in the ground. The modeling based on the initial concentration change considering dissolution potential of pure Diesel and Xylene was performed using VISUAL MODFLOW, and was compared with general modeling ignored the initial concentration change condition.

빛의 반사 현상에 대한 초등 예비교사의 시각적 모델링 과정 (Pre-Service Elementary Teachers' Visual Modeling Process for Reflection of Light)

  • 본 연구에서는 빛의 반사 현상에 대한 초등 예비교사의 시각적 모델링 과정을 Halloun (2004)이 제안한 모델링 사고의 세 측면, 정합성(coherence), 대응성(correspondence), 통약성(commensurability)의 관점에서 분석하였다. 초등 예비교사 20명이 참여하였으며 무작위로 2명씩 짝을 이루어 빛의 반사 현상을 관찰하고 이에 대한 시각적 모델을 처음에는 개인적으로 그리고 이후에는 협동적으로 구성하도록 하였다. 개인적 모델과 협동적 모델을 비교한 결과 특별한 교육적 처치가 없었음에도 불구하고 일부 모둠에서 대응성과 통약성 수준이 다소 높아졌다. 또한, 이들의 추론 과정에서 세 가지의 주요한 특징을 발견할 수 있었다. 첫째, 반사의 법칙을 적용하는 통약성 수준은 상황에 따라 유동적으로 계속 변했고 구두 설명과 그림 설명이 일치하지 않는 경우가 많았다. 둘째, 시각적 모델링 과정에서 통약성, 정합성보다 대응성을 우선으로 고려하는 경우가 많았다. 셋째, 대응성과 통약성이 서로 갈등하는 상황에서 참여자들은 보조 가설에 대한 검토 및 수정을 통해 이 갈등을 해결하고 추론을 발전시켜 나갔다. 이러한 연구 결과가 모델링 활동을 효과적으로 지도하는데 주는 몇 가지 시사점을 논의하였다.

  • 웹 환경이 급변함에 따라 인간과 컴퓨터간의 복잡한 상호작용을 지원하기 위한 인터페이스에 대한 설계가 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 사용자 인터페이스의 품질 향상을 위하여 객체 모델링 기법을 제시한다. 사용자 인터페이스의 가시적 응집도 향상을 위하여 비즈니스 이벤트객체 모델링, 태스크 객체 모델링, 트랜잭션 객체 모델링, 폼 객체 모델링과 같은 4 가지의 비즈니스 이벤트 객체를 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 4단계 설계를 통하여 사용자 인터페이스 프로토타입의 가시적 응집도를 향상시킬 수 있다. 이것은 비즈니스 이벤트의 가시적 응집도를 향상시킬 수 있도록 하고, 비숙련된 설계자도 향상된 사용자 인터페이스 프로토타입을 개발할 수 있도록 한다 또한 비즈니스 태스크의 이해도를 증진시키고 프로토타입 시스템 개발 회수를 줄일 수 있다.

시청각적 모델링의 관찰이 뇌졸중 환자의 상지기능 재활에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Observation of an Audio-Visual Modeling on the Rehabilitation of Upper Limb Function in Stroke Patients)

  • The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the applicability of audio-visual modeling for improving the efficiency of rehabilitative programs by analyzing the effects of observing these various models on the capacity of stroke patients to perform upper limb activities. Twenty-one stroke patients participated in the experiment and were randomly assigned to either task modeling, sport modeling, or control group. During 2 weeks of intervention, subjects in all groups participated in the physical practice of experimental tasks. These tasks comprised of a Nine Hole Peg Test, the Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function tests, and locomotion. These tasks were performed 5 days a week, 30 min per day. In addition to the physical practice, the task modeling group observed a model performing experimental tasks and locomotive activities for 20 min, while the sport modeling group observed a model performing various sport activities for 20 min. Subjects' ability to perform the experimental tasks was measured 3 times, before, immediately after, and 1 week after the intervention. Analyses of the capacity to perform upper extremity activities displayed significant improvement from the pre-test to immediate and delayed post-tests in all groups. However, the amount of improvement was the highest in the task modeling group. The task modeling group was superior to the control group in the post-test of all experimental tasks, whereas the sport modeling group did not display significant differences from the control group. These results suggest that audio-visual modeling can be used as an effective cognitive intervention for facilitating the rehabilitation of stroke patients, and its rehabilitative effect can be maximized when the program is comprised of performance scenes directly related to the target task.

시각수학과 원리 확장적 모델링 프로세스 (A Constructive Modeling Process in the Form of 'Visual Mathematics')

  • 컴퓨터 과학자인 카를로 세퀸(Carlo H. Sequin)은 '시각수학Visual Mathematics)'으로 묘사되어 논문지에 소개된 조각가 브렌트 콜린스(Brent Collins)의 오묘한 공간 구성의 조각품을 보게 되었고 그 구성의 근본적 논리성을 추론할 수 있었던 세퀸은 컴퓨터를 활용하여 간단 한 수치의 입력만으로 가상 모델링이 가능한 소프트웨어를 개발하여 콜린스에게 제공하게 되었다. 저널 레오나도(Leonardo)에 게재된 동반 논문을 통해 두 사람의 협력작업의 내용을 접하게 된 본 저자는 시각 특성과 모델링 전개 방식에서 유사성을 보이는 콜린스의 조각 작품과 본 저자의 애니메이션 작품의 모델링 과정을 이 논문에서 소개하고 있다. 모델링의 근 본적 모티브로 사용되어 그 물체의 주요한 시각적 특질로 제공되고 있는 수학적 특성을 탐구하고 있으며 콜린스의 경우에는 공간 왜곡을 본 저자의 경우에는 공간 분할을 근본 원리로 하여 확장이 전개되고 있는 '원리 확장적 모델링 방식'을 소개하고 있다. 기술과 과학의 발전과 함께 고양되어 온 '예술, 과학 그리고 기술(Arts, Sciences and Technology)'의 상호작용성과 같은 맥락에서 이 모델링 기법을 다양한 응용 가능성이 있는 연구 테마로 제시하고 있는 것이다.

A Study on the Formal Systematization within the 3D Modeling Designs - Focused on The Law of Grouping -

  • As to talk about computer aided 3D modeling, it can be conformed to the popular aesthetics based theory of heightening the organizing useful visual information. This thesis heightens the formativeness of the 3D modeling from the angle of the Gestalt psychology and attempts a finding of a method as also explains among the grouping laws of Gestalt. They are the definitions and the special features of 'The Law of Proximity', 'The Law of Similarity', 'The Law of Closure', 'The Law of Continuity', etc. And, through a logical, theoretical analysis, the relationships between such laws are found out. And the case examples of the uses of such laws in the 3D animation character designs and the situation in which such laws are applied to the things in the actual lives are analyzed. If it is intended to improve the formativeness of the 3D model forms, the rules of the simplicity, the safety, and the symmetry must be pursued according to the visual recognitions of the human beings. Because the actual objects are seen and touched, other than the visual pursuits by the human beings, the functionalities and the practicalities of the objects must be considered.

실제 이미지에서 현저성과 맥락 정보의 영향을 고려한 시각 탐색 모델 (Visual Search Model based on Saliency and Scene-Context in Real-World Images)

  • According to much research on cognitive science, the impact of the scene-context on human visual search in real-world images could be as important as the saliency. Therefore, this study proposed a method of Adaptive Control of Thought-Rational (ACT-R) modeling of visual search in real-world images, based on saliency and scene-context. The modeling method was developed by using the utility system of ACT-R to describe influences of saliency and scene-context in real-world images. Then, the validation of the model was performed, by comparing the data of the model and eye-tracking data from experiments in simple task in which subjects search some targets in indoor bedroom images. Results show that model data was quite well fit with eye-tracking data. In conclusion, the method of modeling human visual search proposed in this study should be used, in order to provide an accurate model of human performance in visual search tasks in real-world images.

BIM and Thermographic Sensing: Reflecting the As-is Building Condition in Energy Analysis

  • This paper presents an automated computer vision-based system to update BIM data by leveraging multi-modal visual data collected from existing buildings under inspection. Currently, visual inspections are conducted for building envelopes or mechanical systems, and auditors analyze energy-related contextual information to examine if their performance is maintained as expected by the design. By translating 3D surface thermal profiles into energy performance metrics such as actual R-values at point-level and by mapping such properties to the associated BIM elements using XML Document Object Model (DOM), the proposed method shortens the energy performance modeling gap between the architectural information in the as-designed BIM and the as-is building condition, which improve the reliability of building energy analysis. Several case studies were conducted to experimentally evaluate their impact on BIM-based energy analysis to calculate energy load. The experimental results on existing buildings show that (1) the point-level thermography-based thermal resistance measurement can be automatically matched with the associated BIM elements; and (2) their corresponding thermal properties are automatically updated in gbXML schema. This paper provides practitioners with insight to uncover the fundamentals of how multi-modal visual data can be used to improve the accuracy of building energy modeling for retrofit analysis. Open research challenges and lessons learned from real-world case studies are discussed in detail.
