Takayasu`s arteritis is an arteritis of unknown etiology involving larger elastic arteries such as aorta and its branches, pulmonary arteries, and rarely coronary arteries. The late pathologic feature is vascular obstructive change and the resulting clinical manifestations are local ischemic symptoms such as syncope, visual disturbance, claudication of extremities, hypertension, and angina. the disease occurs predominantly in females, with the age of onset between 10 and 30 years. Recently we have experienced one case of Takayasu`s arteritis involving aortic arch and all its major branches. The patient was 36 year-old female and she was admitted because of headache, blurred vision, and easy fatigability and motor weakness of upper extremities. Aortogram revealed total obstruction of both carotid arteries at the site of its origin and partial irregular obstructive change in the innominate artery and both subclavian arteries. Bypass graft surgery using Gore-Tex grafts was performed with successful result.

The authors observed the two cases of Rieger's syndrome in 21-year-old male and 13-year-old female with a chief complaint of Partial anodontia of permanent teeth on both jaws. We had done the laboratory and ophthalmic examinations and had taken radiographs. Final diagnosis was established as Rieger's syndrome. We obtained the results as follows, 1. There was no peculiar hereditary tendency in them. 2. The patients had no disturbance of general physical activity and mentality. 3. The male patient had pseudoprogenathism, concave profile, congenital missing on upper anterior and second premolar teeth, and conical shaped crown of upper len celral incisor. The female patient had also pseudoprognathism, concave profile, thickened upper labial frenum, decreased upper dental arch width, congenital missing on upper anterior teeth, and delayed eruption of second premolars. 4. The ophthalmic symptoms that were ins abnormalities, decreased visual acuity, and increased intraocular pressure were present. 5. The abnormalities except dental and ophthalmic abnormalities were not round.

Objectives This study is about a "Taeumin" parkinson's disease patient with bradykinesia, tremor, weakness and dysautonomia etc. In this case, we evaluated the effect of Yuldahanso-tang gagam for parkinson's disease. Methods This patient was treated by Sasang constitutional herbal medication based on "Donguisusebowon". Acupuncture and west medications were used together. We evaluated the clinical progress through two methods, DITI(Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging) and VAS(Visual Analogue Scale). Results During 11months treatment, chief complaints and symptoms of this patient were improved. Conclusions This study shows that Yuldahanso-tang gagam is an effective treatment for "Taeumin" parkinson's disease patients.

Three strains of W isolated from tobacco, tomato and Pepper plants in Korea were characterized based on biological response, serological relationship, and peptide mapping of the capsid Proteins. The strains designated as TMV-common, TMV-Pepper, and TMV-tomato could be distinguishable by different visual symptoms on 3 varieties of tobacco, one variety of tomato and Pepper for each among 27 plant specieces. Serological relationships were examined by agar gel double diffusion test. Only traceable or weak reaction was observed in the incompatible antigen-antibody combinations. The Pepper strain, however, showed trace in reaction with other two antisera. Peptide maps of the capsid proteins digested by V8 protease or by trypsin were also distinguishable, suggesting differences in composition and/or sequence of the amino acids among the strains.

Objective : The purpose of this report is to know the effect of Gamisunbangwhalmyung-Eum(加味仙方活命飮) on pain and burning sensation that last for months after Debridement caused by Cellulitis. Methods : We experienced one case of patient underwent Debridement caused by Cellulitis treated with Gamisunbangwhalmyung-Eum. To evaluate the effectiveness of this treatment, we used the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS). Results : After the treatment, the grade of VAS was decreased and clinical symptoms were improved. Conclusion : Gamisunbangwhalmyung-Eum can be used on the treatment of patient underwent Debridement caused by Cellulitis.

Objectives : This is a clinical report about the 47-year-old female patient with Trigeminal Neuralgia(TN) treated by oriental medicine treatment including Bee Venom Pharmacopuncture therapy(BVP), without any western medical treatment. Methods : The patient was treated by acupuncture, herb medication, and BVP. The improvement of the patient was judged by Visual Analog Scale(VAS). Results : The pain was gradually reduced and VAS became 0 after 8 days of treatment. Since then the pain didn't reappeared for 6 months. Conclusions : Oriental medicine treatment including BVP was very effective to improve the TN patient's symptoms. It is necessary to have more observation and many cases of patients with TN.

This study was designed to investigate the effect of Bee Venom Acupuncture on Ligament Relaxation. The patient was treated with Bee Venom Acupuncture Therapy, Acupuncture and Microwave. Bee Venom Acupuncture Therapy was administered at fibroosseous junction of the relaxed ligament. We evaluated the patient through Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Range of Motion(ROM), tenderness. Atter treatment, the patients showed that clinical symptoms was disappeared, VAS changed from 10 to 1 and there was no limitation of ROM. According to the result, Bee Venom Acupuncture Therapy may have rapid effects on the Ligament Relaxation. But further studies are required to prove the effect of Bee Venom Acupuncture Therapy of Ligament Relaxation

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Hwangryuhaedok-tang gagambang on seborrheic dermatitis. Methods : The clinical study was done on 3 cases of seborrheic dermatitis patients with symptoms of flare, scales, pricking and itching. An author prescribed Hwangryuhaedok-tang gagambang for these patients and checked VAS(Visual Analogue Scale) scores depending on the patient's evaluation. Photographies were taken before and after the treatment. Results : VAS scores of all patients decreased from 10 to 1,2. Judging by photographies, patients noticeably improved in facial skin. As a result of examining VAS scores and photographies, Hwangryuhaedok-tang gagambang was effective on seborrheic dermatitis. Conclusions : From these results, Hwangryuhaedok-tang gagambang may be considered as a basic prescription for seborrheic dermatitis. And an author consider that continuous clinical study will be needed in Korean medical dermatology.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Hwangryunhaedoktang-Gamibang on Postmenopausal Hot Flushes. Methods : This case study was done on 3 Postmenopausal Hot Flush patients who have visited Korean Medicine Clinic. Hwangryunhaedoktang-Gamibang was prescribed to all 3 patients and evaluated the symptom change through photographs and questionnaire. Investigator's Global Assessment(IGA) was used to evaluate the objective symptom and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) was used to evaluate the subjective change. Results & Conclusions : The IGA and VAS were decreased in all patients. Most symptoms of 3 patients were improved. As a result of examining IGA, VAS scores and photographs, Hwangryunhaedoktang-Gamibang can be effective on Postmenopausal hot flush.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to report a significant improvement of Tinnitus with Sudden sensorineural hearing loss(SSHL) after treatment with Daehamhyung-tang.Methods : We experienced four cases of tinnitus with SSHL treated by Daehamhyung-tang. To evaluate the results of this treatment, we used the visual analogue scale(VAS)Results : After using Daehamhyung-tang, VAS and clinical symptoms of 3 patients were improved remarkably, but 1 case was no interval change.Conclusion : This study suggests that using Daehamhyung-tang is effective on tinnitus with SSHL.
