Objectives : This study aims to report the effect of Korean medicine treatments on a sequela of operation of hallux valgus. Methods : The patient was treated with Dangkisoosan-gami, Acupuncture treatment including Herbal-Acupuncture and physical therapy. We evaluated treatment effects by circumference of foot and ankle, Edema index score by Body Composition Analyzer, Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Results : After 25 days of treatment, the symptoms such as lower extremity edema, foot pain and ankle pain were improved. Conclusions : In this case, Korean medicine treatments for a sequela of operation of hallux valgus was effective. But further studies are required to confirm the effect of these methods.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the effectiveness of Sihochunggan-tang gagambang and Sunbangpaedok-tang gagambang in the five patients with nummular eczema.Methods: This case study was conducted for five nummular eczema patients who have visited Korean Medicine Clinic. Sihochunggan-tang gagambang Sunbangpaedok-tang gagambang was prescribed to all five patients and evaluated the symptom change through photographs and an assessment method. We used Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) as the assessment method.Results & Conclusions: After the treatment, the grade of VAS was decreased and most symptoms of five patients were improved. As a result of examining VAS scores and photographs, Sihochunggan-Tang gagambang and Sunbangpaedok-tang gagambang can be effective on the nummular eczema in five cases in our study.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Gagamhwanggeum-tang on emotional facial flush. Methods : This case study was done on 3 Facial Flush patients who have visited Korean Medicine Clinic. Gagamhwanggeum-tang was prescribed to all 3 patients and evaluated the symptom change through photographs and questionnaire. Investigator's Global Assessment(IGA) was used to evaluate the objective symptom and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) was used to evaluate the subjective change Results & Conclusion : The IGA and VAS were decreased in 3 patients in our study. Most symptoms of 3 patients were improved. As a result of examining IGA, VAS scores and photographs, Gagamhwanggeum-tang can be effective on emotional facial flush in 3 case in our study.

Sudden headache onset may rarely be caused by spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH). Other associated symptoms in patients with SIH are nausea, vomiting, vertigo, hearing alteration, and visual disturbance. This case report describes a 43-year-old female diagnosed with SIH who developed diplopia after resolution of an abrupt-onset headache, which was managed with conservative treatments, including bed rest and hydration. She was also diagnosed with secondary right sixth cranial nerve palsy. Although conservative management relieved her headache, the diplopia was not fully relieved. Application of an autologous epidural blood patch successfully relieved her diplopia, even after 14 days from the onset of visual impairment.

Objectives: This case report examines the effects of traditional Korean medicine for unspecified tremor with xerostomia caused by psychometric drug intake. Methods: A patient who suffered from unspecified tremor with xerostomia caused by psychometric drug intake was treated with acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, and traditional Korean medicine for 30 days. We provided the patient with herbal medicines including Ondam-tang-gagam (溫膽湯加減), Pumsimgieum-gagam (忿心氣陰加減), and Hoichunyanggyeok-san-gami (回春凉隔散加味). Symptoms were charted and evaluated using the Yin-deficiency questionnaire score, Yin-deficiency scale score, dry mouth symptom questionnaire, and visual analogue scale. Results: After treatment with Korean Medicine and pharmacopuncture, the frequency and degree of tremor has decreased, and degree of Xerostomia also improved. The Scores of Yin-deficiency questionnaire score, Yin-deficiency scale score, dry mouth symptom questionnaire, and visual analogue scale were also improved. And we could see reduction in the level of distribution of gastrointestinal heat at Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging test. The patient's Symtoms (Xerostomia as well as unspecified tremor) were improved after treated with Korean Medicine and pharmacopuncture. Conclusion: Korean medicine treatments may be valuable for xerostomia caused by psychometric drug intake.

This study was designed to report treatment for Behcet's disease with arthritis We treated 2 Behcet's disease patients with arthritis. A 46-year-old female patient was treated with Cheongsimyeonja-tang. Another case, 44-year-old female patient was diagnosed as Sjogren's disease at first and diagnosed as The Behcet's diseases about 1 year later, treated with Cheonglijagam-tang. The progress was evaluated with the visual analogue scale for joint pain and hot flush, and length of sleeping time. There was improvement in the symptoms of visual analogue scale for joint pain and hot flush, also length of sleeping time. Cheongsimyeonja-tang, Cheonglijagam-tang can be considered as a treatment for patient diagnosed as Behcet's disease suffering from arthritis, especially.

Restless legs syndrome(RLS) is a neurological disorder characterized by an irresistible urge to move legs to stop uncomfortable or odd sensations. We report a new approach to improve RLS using acupuncture and massage on iliopsoas Muscle. The patients who have RLS were treated by acupuncture and massage on iliopsoas Muscle. We measured 3~6 times IRLS(Korean Versoin of International Restless Legs Scale), VAS(visual analogue scale), and angle(between the legs and the table) during the treatment period. After treatment, RLS symptoms decreased, In case 1, IRLS changed 34 to 10, VAS changed 8 to 2, angle changed 20 to 5. In case 2, IRLS changed 22 to 12, VAS changed 10 to 5, angle changed 15 to 10. In case 3, IRLS changed 30 to 9, VAS changed 8 to 1, angle changed 25 to 5. Acupuncture and massage on iliopsoas muscle for RLS was effective. To effective acupuncture treatment for RLS, more research is needed.

Objectives: This case report presents improvement after receiving acupuncture treatment for a chemotherapy-induced stomatitis. Methods: The patient was treated for 6 times with acupuncture. And effects of treatments were measured with the World Health Organization (WHO) oral toxicity scale and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Results: The clinical symptoms of the stomatitis were improved that WHO oral toxicity scale decreased from grade 4 to grade 0 and Visual Analogue Scale decreased from 7 to 2 after treated with acupuncture. Conclusions: In this study, acupuncture might be effective way to cure the cancer patient suffering from chemotherapy-induced stomatitis.

Objective : This study was designed to investigate the effect of Carthami Flos Herbal-Acupuncture(CF) on Subluxation of the Head of the Radius. Methods : CF was administered one time per 2days. The following points were selected : TE10(天井), LI11(曲池), LI10(手三里). After CF administration conventional body-acupuncture was performed at the same points. We evaluated the patient through Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Elbow Range of Motion(ROM). Results : After 6 times of treatment, the patient showed that clinical symptoms was disappeared, VAS changed from 10 to 1 and there was no limitation of ROM. Conclusions : According to the results, CF and early Exercising may have rapid effects on the Subluxation of the Head of the Radius. But further studies are required to prove the effect of CF on Subluxation of the Head of the Radius.

Objectives : This report was performed to evaluate the treatment of acupuncture therapy, Bee venom acupuncture therapy and herbal medication in Baastrup's disease. Methods : We treated 1 case of Baastrup's disease with acupuncture therapy, Bee venom acupuncture therapy one times a week and took herbal medicine after a meal two times daily. The patients' symptoms were assessed 3 month, 6 month, 9 month by Visual analogue scale(VAS), Oswestry disability index(ODI). Results : Visual Analog Scale(VAS), Oswestry Disability Index(ODI) was significantly improved after treatment for 9 months. Conclusions : This study suggested that acupuncture therapy, Bee venom acupuncture therapy and herbal medicine can be effective for decreasing pain and improving functional recovery. We think that it need the further study and clinical trial for Baastrup's disease.
