  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of the Visual Schedule on class engagement behaviors. Method: The experiment was conducted in a structured classroom setting for using Visual Schedule. The participant of this study was an 8-year-old elementary school student with Autism Spectrum Disorder. For this study, a multiple probe design across settings was employed to identify a potential functional relationship between independent and dependent variables. The independent variable was the implementation of Visual Schedule. The dependent variable of this study included the percentage of the incidence of the exact class engagement behaviors by the participant. Results & Conclusion: The results demonstrated that using Visual Schedule would be effective to increase the participant's class engagement behaviors. The effects of using Visual Schedule are maintained in the Follow-up post-intervention probe phase.

  • In these days, the technical advances and complexities have generated much of the difficulties in managing the project resources, both time and costing to accomplish the project in the most efficient manner. The project manager is frequently required to render judgements concerning the schedule and resource adjustments. This research develops an analytical model for a schedule-cost and risk analysis based on visual PERT/CPM. We used a two-step approaches :in the step 1, a deterministic PERT/CPM model for the critical path and estimating the project time schedule and related resource planning, In the second step, we developed a heuristic model for crash and stretch out analysis based upon a time-cost trade-off associated with the crash and stretch out of the project. Computer implementation of this model is provided based on GUI-Type objective-oriented programming for the users and provided displays of all the inputs and outputs in the form of visual graphical. Also developed GUI-type program, Dongeui Visual-PERT/CPM. The results of this research will provide the project managers with an efficient management tool.

  • All sorts of technique for schedule progress management is being developed recently, These can change and develop the abstractive concept model to a detailed model that describes the visual 3D image about a schedule plan. but, this technique is troublesome, because this requires the handwork by means of connection between 3D-CAD and scheduling Program. In this study, the process of real-time schedule progress control system using the integrated database by 3D-CAD object information system and schedule module is presented. This study present the process of a schedule progress management using UML, and the process of real-time schedule progress management using RFID system. Through this study, we want to realize the rapid generation of estimated schedule information and to simulate and analyze actual schedule information by real-time.

  • It is more effective and more efficient to manage schedule and risk at a same time because many risks occur in construction phase in building construction projects. The objective of this paper is to propose a tool that manages risks in a project management software. The tool is implemented by VBA in Microsoft Project, and enables field managers of a construction project to make schedules and to help to predict risks.

  • As the construction environment has been changing all the times, the techniques for managing the construction projects have been improved accordingly. The schedule management technique, one of the construction management tools, has been evolved as well in order to be adaptable to new construction environment. Most of newly proposed scheduling techniques have been based on the Critical Path Method (CPM) that was proposed in 1956. The CPM is classified into two categories, Arrow Diagramming Method (ADM) and Precedence Diagramming Method (PDM). ADM is so good in the visual format but it cannot express the overlapping relationships between two consecutive activities. On the other hand, PDM can express the overlapping relationships but it is unsatisfactory in the visual format. Recently, as the construction environment becomes more complex and the role of schedule management becomes more and more important, the overlapping expression becomes one of critical factors for scheduling as well. Most of construction project participants prefer more comfortable visual format, however, the scheduling software based on the PDM cannot satisfy their basic requirement. Beeliner, new scheduling software based on the Beeline Diagramming Method (BDM) that was proposed in 2010, was developed in 2012, it can express more flexible overlapping relationships and has superior visual format as well. This paper presents major features and applications of Beeliner, and makes construction professionals understand new scheduling concept and its applications.

  • Most current BIM systems are focused on the visual information of work status in the design and construction stages. In a passive BIM system, 3D CAD tool can visualize the interference elements of design drawings, however, it cannot suggest a solution to solve the interference status. And 4D CAD tool in the construction stage can simulate the appearance of each activity by construction schedule, however, it cannot suggest an optimized schedule plan considering specified schedule condition of the project. Recently, many organizations need BIM solutions that can improve the work status beyond the level of simple visual information from BIM system. Active BIM system can provide the solutions to the project manager. This study suggests active BIM functions for the solutions and attempts to develop a 4D CAD engine to validate the usability of the functions.

  • Objectives: Children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) tend to be noisy and violate rules with their disruptive behaviors, resulting in greater difficulties with off-task behaviors and being at risk for social refusal. The visual activity schedule (VAS) intervention program is a frequently used method to teach multiple skills involving on-task, use of schedules, transition behaviors, social initiation, independent play skills, classroom skills, and academic skills. The current systematic review aimed to examine the efficacy of using VAS intervention in reducing problem behaviors in children with ADHD between 5 and 12 years of age. Methods: Systematic searches were conducted using two electronic databases (PubMed and Scopus) to identify relevant studies published in English between 2010 and 2020. Four studies met the inclusion criteria: two studies examined the effect of schedule-based tasks and the use of an iPad on classroom skills, while the other two examined randomized clinical trials (RCTs) of psychosocial treatment for ADHD inattentive type and a cross-sectional study examined the impact of the group size on task behavior and work productivity in children with ADHD. Results: The findings indicate that the interventions used in all four studies could lead to increased satisfaction among participants and parents, as well as a reduction in problem behavior. In terms of the research indicators, the RCT had low quality, while the others were of high quality. Conclusion: A larger number of studies and the ADHD clinical population would help to increase the generalizability of future reviews of treatments in this context.

  • Purpose: This study was to compare the habitual soft contact lens wear to recommended wearing schedule for subjects and suggest a clinical guideline for prescribing contact lens. Methods: 611 adults (39 men and 572 women) with contact lens experience took part in this study. The survey collected information about current wearing schedule (hours/day and days/week), types of lenses worn and awareness of recommended wear schedule. Results: The subjects wore the daily contact lens for $7.97{\pm}3.60$ hours/day in average. Of these, 247 subjects (40.4%) exceeded the recommended wear schedule and 36 (5.9%) wore for over 15 hours. It turned out that subjects with 3-month extended contact lenses and the ones with the conventional daily wear wore for $9.79{\pm}2.68$ hours and $8.98{\pm}3.30$ hours/day, respectively. For subjects wearing contact lenses longer than five days/week it tended to wear for over 9 hours. Those who were aware of the wear schedule were 293 (48.0%), and those not were 318 (52.0%). 56.7% of subjects who were aware of the wear schedule respected the recommendation whereas only 22.3% of those unaware of it were found to respect it. The possibility to respect the wear schedule was 4.55 times higher when wearers were aware of it. Conclusions: Korean office workers wearing contact lenses wore for $7.97{\pm}3.60$ hours/day. 247 (40.4%) of subjects wore contact lens longer than recommended wear schedule. This implies that it will need to educate contact lens wearer about recommended wear schedule and advice for the long time wearer.
