Visualization of Linear Algebra concepts with Sage and GeoGebra (Sage와 GeoGebra를 이용한 선형대수학 개념의 Visual-Dynamic 자료 개발과 활용)

  • This work started with recent students' conception on Linear Algebra. We were trying to help their understanding of Linear Algebra concepts by adding visualization tools. To accomplish this, we have developed most of needed tools for teaching of Linear Algebra class. Visualizing concepts of Linear Algebra is not only an aid for understanding but also arouses students' interest on the subject for a better comprehension, which further helps the students to play with them for self-discovery. Therefore, visualizing data should be prepared thoroughly rather than just merely understanding on static pictures as a special circumstance when we would study visual object. By doing this, we carefully selected GeoGebra which is suitable for dynamic visualizing and Sage for algebraic computations. We discovered that this combination is proper for visualizing to be embodied and gave a variety of visualizing data for undergraduate mathematics classes. We utilized GeoGebra and Sage for dynamic visualizing and tools used for algebraic calculation as creating a new kind of visual object for university math classes. We visualized important concepts of Linear Algebra as much as we can according to the order of the textbook. We offered static visual data for understanding and studied visual object and further prepared a circumstance that could create new knowledge. We found that our experience on visualizations in Linear Algebra using Sage and GeoGebra to our class can be effectively adopted to other university math classes. It is expected that this contribution has a positive effect for school math education as well as the other lectures in university.

The User Support 3D Form Generation System Establishment (사용자 지향적 3차원 형태발상 지원 시스템 구축)

  • The objective of this study is to present a new design method at the idea brainstorming process, which requires a great deal of time and effort to seek their own ideas in existing design process and to develop a user support idea forms generation system called OCIGS (Openware Creative Idea Generation System) that makes it possible to create a variety and 3D forms as well as a quantitative evaluation data for the actual types that compose the aesthetic factors and designs of qualitative standards. In order to achieve these objectives : First, overcoming the limitation of 3D form generation ability by establishing visual application system, Second, accepting users' opinions by generating 3D images dynamically, analysing and giving information on the preferred ones on the web on real time, Third, identifying tendency of preference so that they can generate preferred colors and images in future by updating image combination and dropping low-preferred ones. This system would play a role as an idea or form generation application in the actual 3d form design development process.

  • In directing a film, aesthetics are use for visual manifestation of narratives to audiences. Especially, colors have important roles in that process to express emotions and to convey the story. For 3D animation, they may play even more important roles due to the nature of colors being generated by computers. This paper studies the relationship between narratives and colors by analyzing how colors change by the rise and fall of tensions in narratives, and by investigating how emotional expressions are affected due to color changes.

  • The major purpose of this study was to provide a basic model of mobile guide system for visitor's individual learning, self-regulated learning in a museum. System model realized by this study was as follows; 1) This system distributed exhibit information to tourists in place of existing audio guides or curators. Using wireless communications, the PDA automatically delivered information about the exhibit. The artistic and visual displays maximized effective and quick transmission of information to the user. 2) It made visiting a museum fun, exciting and entertaining. With the PDA guide the museum visitor can interact with detailed descriptions of exhibits, videos and images. The museum visitor, can also play a quiz game, take photos, record voices and send e-mail.

A Study of Residents' Demand for External Space of Apartment Site (아파트 외부공간 실태와 조성기법)

  • This study derives problems of external space utilization site from on-site observation and questionnaire survey in order to suggest solutions for the problems. The main results are follows. First, fences as visual boundaries of apartment site play some negative roles - separation of space and heterogeneity of circumstance. This study suggests green fences to cure this problem. Second, residents want to change space use - ground to be used as green space or space for relaxation in stead of parking lots, elevator hall as social space, and underground as bike parks or health centers. Third, rooftop space, used as empty space or machine storage space, should be designed to be utilized as relaxation space by making easy to enter and exit.

  • The compressor is one of important elements in refrigeration cycle and play an important role of refrigeration efficiency and quality. This paper analyzes slides in rotary compressors for room air conditioners, monitoring using Acoustic Emission(AE) technique. Reliability of rotary compressors which are factory-tested has been evaluated through visual inspection on taking them apart after long term test, which is life test. This paper describes methods for acquisition and processing of Acoustic Emission(AE) raw signal to monitor state of rotary compressor in Life Test.

  • 그림자극은 중국의 오래된 민간 전통 공연 예술이며 초기 중국영화에서 많이 이용했다. 지금 시대에 3D 및 입체 영화를 위주로 하는 추세에서 2D형식의 표현 기법인 그림자극은 어떻게 변화해야 할 것이고 고유의 특성을 발전시킬 것인가? 먼저 그림자극은 비주류 애니메이션 형식으로서 표현의 한계를 가지고 있으므로, 이러한 평면적 예술 기법을 사용하는 영화의 표현형식 및 표현 내용을 고려해야 한다. 둘째 이런 예술 표현기법의 특성과 현대 컴퓨터기술을 서로 결합한 것은 그림자극을 계승 발전시킬 수 있는 요소이다.

  • The investigation of concrete structure typically relies on visual inspection which is one of the basic inspection techniques. Image processing techniques play a crucial role in the growing field of automatic surface inspection technique. However, kinds of inspection equipment, environmental condition and detection algorithm have much influence on the reliability of inspection result. This paper proposes a verification method and testing procedure for the reliability of inspection results and surveys characteristics of image acquisition systems and crack inspection algorithms.

  • The various colors are used in our whole life as much as the modern society is called "the age of colors". The colors in the hair style express the individual taste, personality and the psychological condition, and play an important role as a visual language. The western people, who has thought that the blonde hair is a symbol of beautiful woman from the ancient times, has tried to get the blonde hair continuously even though they had not the technique of hair dyeing. On the other hand, the korean people whose hair color is usually dark brown or black, enjoy a various hair color due to the development of dyeing and decoloration technique. In this study, I deal with the yellow hair style, the most prevalent color which is an important means of communication in the our times.
