The hydrophilic ophthalmic lens with addition of 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA), 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA), hydroxypropyl methacrylate (HPMA) and Ag nanoparticles were manufactured. And also, the cross-linker ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) and the initiator azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) were used for polymerization. The polymerization of the hydrogel lens material was conducted through thermal polymerization in 100 ℃ for 1h. The optical and physical characteristics of hydrogel lens were evaluated by measuring water content, refractive index and optical transmittance. The water content of sample containing HEA, HEMA and HPMA was in the average of 82.12%, 37.06% and 21.57%, respectively. And also, refractive index of the sample containing HEA, HEMA and HPMA was in the average of 1.3540, 1.4330 and 1.4649, respectively. In case of the optical properties of the sample, the results showed that the near-UV transmittance was 82.67%, 80.32% and 79.83%, and the visible transmittance was 89.72%, 88.24% and 86.89%, respectively. And also, optical transmittance of the sample containing Ag nanoparticles showed that the near-UV transmittance of 10.59% and visible transmittance of 43.74% were obtained. From the results, the molecular length influenced on the water content and refractive index of the polymerized material.
A significant enhancement of the magneto-optical Faraday rotation and extraordinary optical transmission (EOT) in the cascaded double-fishnet (CDF) structure with periodic rectangular apertures is theoretically predicted by using the extended finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. The results demonstrate that the transmittance spectrum of the CDF structure has two EOT resonant peaks in a broad spectrum spanning visible to near-infrared wavebands, one of them coinciding with the enhanced Faraday rotation and large figure of merit (FOM) at the same wavelength. It is most important that the resonant position and intensity of the transmittance, Faraday rotation and FOM can be simply tailored by adjusting the incident wavelength, the thickness of the magnetic layer, and the offset between two metallic rectangular apertures, etc. Furthermore, the intrinsic physical mechanism of the resonance characteristics of the transmittance and Faraday rotation is thoroughly studied by investigating the electromagnetic field distributions at the location of resonance. It is shown that the transmittance resonance is mainly determined by different hybrid modes of surface plasmons (SPs) and plasmonic electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) behavior, and the enhancement of Faraday rotation is mostly governed by the plasmonic electromagnetically induced absorption (EIA) behavior and the conversion of the transverse magnetic (TM) mode and transverse electric (TE) mode in the magnetic dielectric layer.
The coating condition of reproducible anti-reflective coating film and the light transmittance characteristics of the prepared anti-reflective coating glass were investigated as a study for the preparation of single-layer anti-reflective coating glasss. In case of coating with the sol in which the solvent was substituted with the ethanol with the addition of 0.1 mol HNO3, the coated glass showed the minimum value of the refractive index of 1.464, light transmittance of 94.2% at 550nm standard wavelength which is 3.2% higher than that of the parent glass, and the reflectance in the entire wave range of visible light. The refractive index represented its minimum at the sol concentration of 1.0 mol per 100mols of water and the higher the sol concentration, the higher the refractive index, resulting in the decrease of the light transmitance. The production condition of the reproducible anti-reflective coating on glass with the maximum transmittance of 94.2% was 4cm/min of withdrawal speed, 40$0^{\circ}C$ and 1 hour of heat treatment temperature and time, resulting in the film thickness of 94nm.
Recently, the light guide plate (LGP), a component of the BLU, becomes thinner and larger than ever. In industrial field, specialized injection molding technique is applied to mold the ultra-thin LGP such as a ultra-high speed injection molding. Usually very high melt temperature is used for low viscosity. High injection speed and melt temperature lead to yellowing of LGP. In the present paper a series of injection molding experiment was performed under various injection molding conditions. Yellow index, CIE xy, spectral transmittance of sample were measured using the UV-Visible spectrophotometer. Systematic decrease of spectral transmittance in UV-B range was found as the melt temperature was higher. Yellow index and CIE xy were became higher near the gate location in LGP. From the result of analysis of variance, the main factor to affect for yellow index was mold temperature and that for spectral transmittance(at 315 nm) was melt temperature.
The 'ITO/Ag/ITO' multilayers as a highly conductive and transparent electrode, even with the optimum thickness conditions, the transmittances were much lower than those of a single ITO layer on some ranges of the visible wavelength. In order to improve the transmittance, Ag layer was formed with mesh structure. Where, the thickness of the Ag layer was about 10 nm and the space between the Ag lines was varied from 2.9 ㎛ to 19.6 ㎛ with the fixed Ag width of about 1.2 ㎛ in order to vary an open ratio of the Ag mesh structure. The transmittance and sheet resistance in the ITO/Mesh-Ag/ITO multilayer structure were analyzed depending on the open ratio. As a result, a trade off in the open ratio was necessary in order to obtain the transmittance as high as possible and the sheet resistance as possible low. By the open ratio of about 86%, in the ITO/Mesh-Ag/ITO multilayer structure, the transmittance was nearly same as the single ITO layer and the sheet resistance was about 62.3 Ω/.

The deposition of indium zinc oxide (IZO) thin films was carried out on substrate at room temperature by RF magnetron sputtering. The effects of substrate temperature, RF power and deposition pressure were investigated with respect to physical and optical properties of films such as deposition rate, electrical properties, structure, and transmittance. As the RF power increases, the resistivity gradually decreases, and the transmittance slightly decreases. For the variation of deposition pressure, the resistivity greatly increases, and the transmittance is decreased with increasing deposition pressure. As a result, it was demonstrated that an IZO film with the resistivity of 3.89 × 10-4 Ω∙cm, the hole mobility of 51.28 cm2/Vs, and the light transmittance of 86.89% in the visible spectrum at room temperature can be prepared without post-deposition annealing.
Purpose: This research is that $V_2O_5$ cathode's composition is possible in low temperature. Methods: Transparent in visible spectra range and crystallographically amorphous $V_2O_5$ thin films were prepared by simple vacuum thermal evaporation on soda-lime-silica slide glass substrate. After annealing at 100$^{\circ}C$, 150$^{\circ}C$ and 200$^{\circ}C$ for 10 minutes in air, the surface morphology and the fracture-cross section of the films were investigated by field emission - scanning electron microscope. Transmittance in visible spectra range and surface roughness of the films were analyzed by ultra violet - visible spectrophotometer and scanning probe microscope, respectively. Results: As the increase of annealing temperature from 100$^{\circ}C$ to 150$^{\circ}C$ and 200$^{\circ}C$, transmittance of the $V_2O_5$ films decreased. Optical properties will be fully discussed on the basis of the surface morphological results. Conclusions: Optical transmissivity was superior in case of 100$^{\circ}C$, and could make amorphous $V_2O_5$ thin film that surface quality of thin film did homogeneity.

The cover glass of mobile displays and photovoltaic cells needs a functional coating, such as an anti-reflection and self-cleaning coating. Numerous studies have been conducted on the engineering application of biomimetic functional surfaces, such as moth eye and lotus leaf Anti-reflection coantings of silica nanoparticles could enhance the light transmittance. $TiO_2$ photocatalyst coatings have been applied to self-cleaning functional films. In this study, transparent hydrophobic anti-reflective coatings consisting of thin layers of $SiO_2/TiO_2$ nanoparticles were fabricated on a slide glass substrate by the sol-gel process and dip-coating process. The dependence of the surface morphology of the functional coatings was investigated by the atomic force microscopy (AFM), contact angle measurement, and UV-visible spectroscopy. It was found that the coating of $TiO_2$ nanoparticles exhibited a high average transmittance comparable to that of the bare slide glass substrate in the visible light range. The bi-layered functional coating of 7 nm $SiO_2$/7nm $TiO_2$ nanoparticles exhibits a transparent hydrophobic surface with a contact angle of $110^{\circ}$ and an improvement of the average transmittance of 2.3% compared to the bare slide glass substrate in the visible light range.

Graphene, with its unique physical and structural properties, has recently become a proving ground for various physical phenomena, and is a promising candidate for a variety of electronic device and flexible display applications. Compared to indium tin oxide (ITO) electrodes, which have a typical sheet resistance of ${\sim}60{\Omega}$/sq and ~85% transmittance in the visible range, the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) synthesized graphene electrodes have a higher transmittance in the visible to IR region and are more robust under bending. Nevertheless, the lowest sheet resistance of the currently available CVD graphene electrodes is higher than that of ITO. In this study, we report a creative strategy, irradiation of microwave at room temperature under vacuum, for obtaining size-homogeneous gold nano-particle doping on graphene. The gold nano-particlization promoted by microwave irradiation was investigated by transmission electron microscopy, electron energy loss spectroscopy elemental mapping. These results clearly revealed that gold nanoparticle with ${\geq}30$ nm in mean size were decorated along the surface of the graphene after microwave irradiation. The fabrication high-performance transparent conducting film with optimized doping condition showed a sheet resistance of ${\geq}100{\Omega}$/sq. at ~90% transmittance. This approach advances the numerous applications of graphene films as transparent conducting electrodes.

100 nm thick Ga doped ZnO (GZO) thin films were deposited with RF magnetron sputtering on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and ZnO coated PET substrate and then the effect of the ZnO thickness on the optical and electrical properties of the GZO films was investigated. GZO single layer films had an optical transmittance of 83.7% in the visible wavelength region and a sheet resistance of $2.41{\Omega}/{\square}$, while the optical and electrical properties of the GZO/ZnO bi-layered films were influenced by the thickness of the ZnO buffer layer. GZO films with a 20 nm thick ZnO buffer layer showed a lower sheet resistance of $1.45{\Omega}/{\square}$ and an optical transmittance of 85.9%. As the thickness of ZnO buffer layer in GZO/ZnO bi-layered films increased, both the conductivity and optical transmittance in the visible wavelength region were increased. Based on the figure of merit (FOM), it can be concluded that the ZnO buffer layer effectively increases the optical and electrical performance of GZO films as a transparent and conducting electrode without intentional substrate heating or a post deposition annealing process.
