웹기반 참가형 가상모델하우스에 관한 연구 (A Study on Participating virtual model house on the web)

  • In this study, we would like to suggest a virtual model house where the users participate in the planning of the apartment directly in order to supply the apartment which is suitable for the fast change of the resident's characterization, multiplication, and preference in this like high-speed information society. The users have various preferences and demands in the high level information society. It is necessary for the architect to communicate with the users in order to suggest the various styles of habitats that one can treat various life style and life cycle which reflects the demand. In addition, the object of this paper is the construction and using of the participating virtual model house that the resident can plan the preferred space design of the main house before moving Into the apartment and change space design of the main house after moving into the apartment following the variety of life style and the changing of life cycle. Regarding the effect of this study, firstly, it is possible to supply the plate type following the user's preference in order to enhance the quality of uniformed type apartment. Secondly, it is possible to maintain and control the high quality building using sharing the building information with planning, construction, maintain, interior, and related company by constructing the database. Thirdly, the unified database which is constructed by XML can supply the effective environment of apartment information exchange between other companies.

  • Putting a high value on individual preferences is a modern trend that more and more companies are considering for their product design and development and the apartment design is not an exception. Most apartments today are built using similar design with no room for customization. People in general want their tastes to be reflected in the design of their apartment. However, delivering what customers like to the construction company may not be an easy task in practice. For this reason, an intuitive and effective medium between the company and customers for effective communication is needed to ameliorate such a difficulty and in response to this necessity, we developed a test platform for the virtual model house which provides a user with the customization of the apartment using haptic interactions. In our virtual environment, a user can explore an apartment and change the interior based on their taste and feel through intuitive haptic interactions.

  • We studied a model house system on cyberspace using JAVA and VRML in this paper. In the system, users can not only browse the model house using a web browser but also choose options that they want to install in the final house and the chosen options are combined with the figure of the model house on the terminal window in real time. In addition, the information of the chosen options are transferred to a database on a server machine at the construction company and the company can use the information for the customer management. The developed system can be used by a simple EC system since it includes duplex information paths.

  • 본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 대학도서관 정보망 환경상에서 구현될 정보시스템의 이론적인 틀을 구성한 다음 정보시스템 모형의 일부 기능을 멀티미디어 저작 도구를 가지고 실제 구현해 보았다. 시스템 모형은 JANUS Virtual Library, The Book House등과 같은 실제 시스템들을 기초로하여 구성하였고 시스템 구현에 사용된 지식베이스는 참고사서들과의 면담을 통해 얻은 데이터를 이용하여 구축하였다. 구현된 시스템은 참고 전문가시스템, 학술지 브라우징, 멀티미디어 데이타베이스, 온라인 열람목록, 외부 데이타베이스, 이용 안내의 6개의 모듈로 구성된다. 결론에서는 멀티미디어 대학도서관 정보망을 구현하기 위해서 해겨해야 할 문제점들을 제시하였다.

  • This study suggest the development and application of the Interactive Design Toolkit as a participatory design method for general customer with the application of the Augmented Reality. The Toolkit is based on a PC-based image perception system and user can make virtual models and navigate in the virtual space by manipulating physical objects directly in real world. The toolkit can be used in the field of participatory design in systematically modularized and customizable design area including model house of apartment and system kitchen furniture. More improved design toolkit for enhancing reality and providing various Interaction method Is needed hereafter.

신재생에너지 단독주택 모델 냉방운전의 선형계획법 기반 운전 최적화 연구 (Optimal Cooling Operation of a Single Family House Model Equipped with Renewable Energy Facility by Linear Programming)

  • Optimal cooling operation algorithm was developed based on a simulation case of a single family house model equipped with renewable energy facility. EnergyPlus simulation results were used as virtual test data. The model contained three energy storage elements: thermal heat capacity of the living room, chilled water storage tank, and battery. Their charging and discharging schedules were optimized so that daily electricity bill became minimal. As an optimization tool, linear programming was considered because it was possible to obtain results in real time. For its adoption, EnergyPlus-based house model had to be linearly approximated. Results of this study revealed that dynamic cooling load of the living room could be approximated by a linear RC model. Scheduling based on the linear programming was then compared to that by a nonlinear optimization algorithm which was made using GenOpt developed by a national lab in USA. They showed quite similar performances. Therefore, linear programming can be a practical solution to optimal operation scheduling if linear dynamic models are tuned to simulate their real equivalents with reasonable accuracy.

Virtual Reality and 3D Printing for Craniopagus Surgery

  • Purpose Surgery for separating craniopagus twins involves many critical issues owing to complex anatomical features. We demonstrate a 3D printed model and virtual reality (VR) technologies that could provide valuable benefits for surgical planning and simulation, which would improve the visualization and perception during craniopagus surgery. Material & Methods We printed a 3D model extracted from CT images of craniopagus patients using segmentation software developed in-house. Then, we imported the 3D model to create the VR environment using 3D simulation software (Unity, Unity Technologies, CA). We utilized the HTC Vive (HTC & Valve Corp) head-mount-display for the VR simulation. Results We obtained the 3D printed model of craniopagus patients and imported the model to a VR environment. Manipulating the model in VR was possible, and the 3D model in the VR environment enhanced the application of user-friendly 3D modeling in surgery for craniopagus twins. Conclusion The use of the 3D printed model and VR has helped understand complicated anatomical structures of craniopagus patients and has made communicating with other medical surgeons in the field much easier. Further, interacting with the 3D model is possible in VR, which enhances the understanding of the craniopagus surgery as well as the success rate of separation surgery while providing useful information on diagnosing and surgery planning.

가상건설 활성화를 위한 BIM 재질 매핑 자동화 기술 (Automation of BIM Material Mapping to Activate Virtual Construction)

  • 최근 건설분야에 3차원 설계기술인 BIM이 의무화 되면서 다양한 활용사례에 대한 연구가 증가하고 있다. 특히 4차산업혁명의 핵심기술 중의 하나인 가상현실 기술과 BIM이 융합되면 사전 설계검토, 시공시뮬레이션 등 다양한 분야에 활용될 수 있다. 하지만 현재까지 가상현실 접목기술이 단순 프로토타입 수준이거나 모델하우스 정도에만 활용되고 있다. 또한 품질이 높은 가상현실 콘텐츠 제작시 비용이 많이 들기 때문에 관련 분야의 활성화가 어려운 상황이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 가상건설분야 활용도 및 품질을 높이기 위해 BIM을 활용해서 가상현실 콘텐츠를 제작할 때 시간 소요가 많이 발생하는 재질 매핑 시간을 단축시키는 연구를 진행하였다. 이를 위해 BIM 모델시 재질 매핑 가능하도록 객체 속성을 부여하였고, 건설분야에 가장 많이 활용되는 재질을 구성하였으며, 속성과 재질을 자동으로 매핑해 주는 자동화 머터리얼 기능 개발과 최종 테스트를 진행하였다. 테스트를 위해서 10개의 모델을 활용해서 3회 반복 테스트를 하여 최종적으로 약 50.16%의 생산성 향상을 달성하였다. 향후에는 재질 매핑 자동화 기능 고도화를 포함하여 대용량 BIM 모델을 기반으로 물리적인 데이터 경량화를 포함하여 BIM 데이터를 기반으로 가상현실 콘텐츠 제작과 관련된 생산성 향상 연구를 진행할 예정이다.

Vibro-acoustic analysis of un-baffled curved composite panels with experimental validation

  • The article presents the vibration and acoustic responses of un-baffled doubly curved laminated composite panel structure under the excitation of a harmonic point load. The structural responses are obtained using a simulation model via ANSYS including the effect various geometries (cylindrical, elliptical, spherical and hyperboloid). Initially, the model has been established by solving adequate number of available examples to show the convergence and comparison behaviour of the natural frequencies. Further, the acoustic responses are obtained using an indirect boundary element approach for the coupled fluid-structure analysis in LMS Virtual.lab by importing the natural frequency values. Subsequently, the values for the sound power level are computed using the present numerical model and compared with that of the available published results and in-house experimentally obtained data. Further, the acoustic responses (mean-square velocity, radiation efficiency and sound power level) of the doubly curved layered structures are evaluated using the current simulation model via several numerical experimentations for different structural parameters and corresponding discussions are provided in detail.
