  • Smart cities collect data from thousands of IoT-based sensor devices for intelligent application-based services. Centralized cloud servers support application tasks with higher computation resources but introduce network latency. Fog layer-based data centers bring data processing at the edge, but fewer available computation resources and poor task allocation strategy prevent real-time data analysis. In this paper, tasks generated from devices are distributed as high resource and low resource intensity tasks. The novelty of this research lies in deploying a virtual node assigned to each cluster of IoT sensor machines serving a joint application. The node allocates tasks based on the task intensity to either cloud-computing or fog computing resources. The proposed Task Allocation Strategy provides seamless allocation of jobs based on process requirements.

  • Virtualization allows multiple virtual machines to share the resources of a physical machine in order to utilize idle resources. The purpose of virtualization is the efficient allocation of resources among virtual machines. However, the efficient allocation of resources is difficult because the workload characteristics of each virtual machine cannot be understood in the current virtualization environment. This causes performance interference among virtual machines, which leads to performance degradation of the virtual machine. Previous works have been carried out to develop a method of solving such performance interference. This paper introduces a representative method, a CPU scheduling method that guarantees I/O performance by using feedback control to solve performance interference. In addition, we compare and analyze a model-based feedback control method and a dynamic feedback control method.

  • In this paper, to provide a method and system for providing a network separation virtual machine environment. How to provide this virtual machine environment include phase generating necessary virtual resource requirement for the perform of virtual function and transfer to network changing protocol about request of registration virtual resource. For this reason, Registration procedure is to use a virtual machine for a virtual computing resource allocation and separation combined network any time, it became possible between servers and clients, or mobile phone. At any time, it is possible to process the work in the same environment as in a computer to access the Internet.

  • A project virtual team in general refers to a group of geographically dispersed members who rely on communications technology to accomplish project tasks. This team structure has been increasingly utilized in project environments, especially post COVID, given its potential to accommodate flexible work arrangement, reduce project costs; and leverage knowledge and expertise from people around the world to enhance project performance. Drawing from the shared leadership literature and sixteen semi-structured interviews with practitioners involved in project virtual teams in Indonesia, we investigated how shared leadership is exercised in project virtual teams; and how it affects project performance. The results showed that shared leadership can be exercised through collaborative decision-making, collaborative task allocation/monitoring, and empowerment. In project virtual teams, shared leadership practices can trigger positive affective reactions from team members, leading to improved project delivery efficiency and better knowledge transfer. This study extends prior shared leadership literature, which predominately focuses on teams in permanent organizations, to a temporary project environment. It offers theoretical insights into the mechanism through which shared leadership affects project virtual team performance. Our findings also offer important implications for shared leadership practices in future project virtual teams.

  • Through the NFV (Network Function Virtualization), companies such as network service providers and carriers have sought to dramatically reduce CAPEX / OPEX by improving the speed of new service provisioning and flexibility of network construction through the S/W-based devices provided by NFV. One of the most important considerations for establishing an NFV network to provide dynamic services is to determine how to dynamically allocate resources (VNFs), the basic building blocks of network services, in the right place. In this paper, we analyzed the latest research trends on VNF node, link allocation, and scheduling in nodes that are required to provide arbitrary NS in NFV framework. In this paper, we also propose VNF scheduling problems that should be studied further in RA (Resource Allocation).

  • Cloud computing is a new service to provide dynamic, scalable virtual resource services via the Internet. Cloud market is available to multiple cloud computing resource providers and users communicate with each other and participate in market transactions. However, since cloud computing is facing with more and more security issues, how to complete the allocation process effectively and securely become a problem urgently to be solved. In this paper, we firstly analyze the cloud resource allocation problem and propose a mathematic model based on combinatorial double auction. Secondly, we introduce a trust evaluation mechanism into our model and combine genetic algorithm with simulated annealing algorithm to increase the efficiency and security of cloud service. Finally, by doing the overall simulation, we prove that our model is highly effective in the allocation of cloud resources.

  • In recent years, cloud computing services based on smart phones and other mobile terminals have been a rapid development. Cloud computing has the advantages of mass storage capacity and high-speed computing power, and it can meet the needs of different types of users, and under the background, mobile cloud computing (MCC) is now booming. In this paper, we have put forward a new classification-based virtual machine placement (CBVMP) algorithm for MCC, and it aims at improving the efficiency of virtual machine (VM) allocation and the disequilibrium utilization of underlying physical resources in large cloud data center. By simulation experiments based on CloudSim cloud platform, the experimental results show that the new algorithm can improve the efficiency of the VM placement and the utilization rate of underlying physical resources.

  • This paper proposes an optimal dynamic resource allocation method in IoT (Internet of Things) parking guidance system using Q-learning resource allocation model. In the proposed method, a resource allocation using a forecasting model based on Q-learning is employed for optimal utilization of parking guidance system. To demonstrate efficiency and availability of the proposed method, it is verified by computer simulation and practical testbed. Through simulation results, this paper proves that the proposed method can enhance total throughput, decrease penalty fee issued by SLA (Service Level Agreement) and reduce response time with the dynamic number of users.
