  • The rapid development of information technology has much influence on architectural design. Collaboration beyond time and space has been possible by networking the work environment and digital products. Thus, the virtual design studio on architectural design is getting more important than ever before. This research investigates a virtual design studio methodology for effective collaboration. The building design process and the communication model are studied and possible modes of design collaboration are defined. This paper proposes an internet-based Virtual Reality(VR) communication tool as well as new design methodology that we call the 'Hybrid Design Methodology'. We expect that this design methodology will dramatically increase design feedbacks, and thus results in better design alternatives. There are two issues involved in developing the collaborative virtual design studio: 1) an intuitive interface that presents collaborative relations, and 2) three-dimensional computer-mediated communication tool using sketch as a modeling method. Further research issues identified at the end of the research include developing algorithms that translate mapping images to polygons for the drafting phase in the design process.

  • The election broadcast began utilizing virtual studios in the mid-1990s. In 1996, SBS's virtual studio was evaluated as an innovation in Korean broadcasting technology that introduced the world's first virtual studio. However, there have been cases where KBS and MBC named it a virtual studio and used it for election broadcasting. Various CG (Computer Graphics) case studies of election broadcasting have been conducted since the 2000s, but the initial research is inadequate. Therefore, this paper complements existing research by analyzing the cases of the mid-1990s when they actually started using virtual studios. Beginning with SMOCKEY (KBS) and MAGICII (MBC) in 1995, we presented the initial model of the virtual studio, and then with SBS Virtual Studio, each broadcasting company evolved into the names Dream Studio (KBS) and Space 21 Studio (MBC). As a result of the analysis, it was found that the election broadcast is a chart showing the data and the winning prediction, and that the election broadcast was the trigger to compose the story based on the introduction of the virtual studio. It is a form of historical research dealing with the value of the early virtual studios in this paper. It is meaningful to see the process of Remediation.

  • Nowadays personal users create a variety of multi-media contents and share them with others through various devices over the Internet since the concept of user created content (UCC) has been widely accepted as a new paradigm in today's multi-media market, which has broken the boundary of contents providers and consumers. This paradigm shift has also introduced a new business model that makes it possible for them to create their own multi-media contents for commercial purpose. This paper proposes a tangible virtual studio using augmented reality to author multi-media contents easily and intuitively for personal broadcasting and personal content generation. It provides a set of tangible interfaces and devices such as visual markers, cameras, movable and rotatable arms carrying cameras, and miniaturized set. They can offer an easy-to-use interface in an immersive environment and an easy switching mechanism between tangible environment and virtual environment. This paper also discusses how to remove inconsistency between real objects and virtual objects during the AR-enabled visualization with a context-adaptable tracking method. The context-adaptable tracking method not only adjusts the locations of invisible markers by interpolating the locations of existing reference markers, but also removes a jumping effect of movable virtual objects when their references are changed from one marker to another.

  • It is difficult and important for virtual studio systems and media-art products to be designed effective interactions between a performance person, who appears in the studio, and virtual studio equipments, and, an appreciation person and artistic products. The difficulties originate with originate with no even-grained component and no framework of interaction design work. In this article, a layered authoring model is proposed in order to facilitate system designers and artists to construct the system more easily and flexibly using fine-grained media components. And some experimental interactive virtual environments based on the model are shown.

  • This study shows that clothes are made just the same as the real thing in the virtual space through 3D digital technology. This study is significant to expand the area of fashion design in the virtual space. This study analyzes the practical use of the third dimension computer graphics in the aspect of fashion, and it is proposed the 3D fashion design simulation in the virtual space used on 3D studio max, poser, photoshop program according to fashion design process. The main design concept is "temporary bridge" from rainbow. "Temporary bridge" is a rainbow bridge which connects nature, man and technology, and also the past, present, and future. This study is supposed six fashion design in accordance with three sub-theme under main concept by changing rotor and texture used on 3D simulation. The conclusion are as follows : First fashion design process, which consists of design conceptualization, design definition, and computer design process, composed of body modeling, clothing modeling, texture mapping, rendering by lighting and camera establishing are compared. Second, fashion design process is applied to digital technology. Third, the method of body modeling is both that of direct modeling in 3D Studio Max and that of importing DXF file from poser. And the method of direct clothing modeling in 3D Studio Max are two methods, polygon modeling and nurbs modeling. Polygon modeling is more satisfied than nurbs modeling in the aspect of expression to clothing and round face. Forth, this study applies textures and colors transformed by photoshop on manufactured 3D Clothes. According to this result, fashion designers are able to confirm a customer or client in their design minds viewing 3D simulation by various textures. colors and angles. It is able to advance digital fashion show in the future.

  • Currently, new terms are overflowing with the development of technology from VR, AR, XR to Metaverse. Every time a term is generated in this way, society considers it a new technology and tends to use it enthusiastically, but there is confusion in correctly understanding and utilizing the category of the term. He would like to discuss the virtual studio that played an important role in the development of broadcasting CG (Computer Graphics) technology in the 1990s, and talk about the introduction of new terms in the past and how to use them. Therefore, this paper examines the gap between chaos and upright each time a term is generated based on the time when the virtual studio is introduced, and analyzes the utilization of new technology from the past through the introduction machine manufacturing case. By examining the past technological development processes expressed by remediation, this paper argues that the current situation is not a new technology but an expression of a new term, that is, a phenomenon that appears during the gradual development of technology. It is something to do.

  • A virtual reality system using video image is designed and implemented. A participant having 2{{{{ { 1} over { 2} }}}}DOF can interact with the computer-generated virtual object using her/his full body posture and gesture in the 3D virtual environment. The system extracts the necessary participant-related information by video-based sensing, and simulates the realistic interaction such as collision detection in the virtual environment. The resulting scene obtained by compositing video image of the participant and virtual environment is updated in near real time.
