부모교육경험이 부모의 자녀교육관에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Parent Education Program on Parent's Educational Views)

  • The present study investigated the parent's educational views according to sex, age, educational level of parent, and social class. The study also examined parent's educational views resulting from participation of parent education and the types of parent education of marital partner. The subjects were consisted of 162 couples(324 persons) whose children were attending elementary school in Seoul. The instrument was "A tools of Parent's Educational Views Measurement". The major findings are: 1. Parent's educational views showed a tendency to be adult oriented rather than child centered regardless of parent's sex and age. However, the higher parent's education and SES are, the more child oriented views are. 2. Mothers who had participated in the specialized parent education were found to be child oriented educational views. 3. The fathers whose wives participated in the specilized parent education showed the child oriented educational views, probably because of mothers' influence on fathers' educational views.

과학 연구 윤리 가치관 변화를 위한 초등 과학교육 프로그램의 개발 및 적용 (Development and Application of Elementary Science Education Programs for Changing Students' Scientific Research Ethical Views)

  • The purposes of this study were to develop science education programs for changing students' science research ethical views, and to investigate the types and features of their views, and to examine their changes overtime. The subject of this study was one 6th grade class(41 students) at an elementary school located in Seoul. The scientific research ethical education programs developed in the study was applied through 8 lessons over 4 weeks. The results of this study show that 3 types of science research ethical views were appeared in elementary students participated in this study: 'human technology centered views', 'value ecology centered views' and the mixed views. The numbers of students, who changed their views from type I or type II to type III, were significantly increased. Students with type III appeared to actively involve in classroom activities aligned with science research ethical issues. The results imply that intended science ethical education program can affect students' ethical views on science. It is also important to aware that teacher's effective assistance and help contribute to students' meaningful changes on their traditional scientific ethical views. Educational implications on science education are discussed.

족근 관절 골절에서 사면상 단순 방사선 사진의 유용성 (Usefulness of the Oblique Radiographic View in Ankle Fractures)

  • Purpose: To compare the radiographic evaluations between two radiographic views (AP and lateral views) and four radiographic views (AP, lateral and both oblique views) in ankle fractures. Materials and Methods: From January 2000 to June 2002, 60 cases of ankle fractures were treated with open reduction and internal fixation and its followed up periods were at least 2 years. All cases were classified into three groups according to the method of preoperative radiographic evaluation. Two radiographic views (AP and lateral views) were taken in group A and four radiographic views (AP, lateral and both oblique views) were taken in group B. 12 Cases were evaluated with three dimensional computed tomography (3D CT). Four radiographic views and 3D CT were taken in group C. All cases were classified according to the Danis-Weber and Lauge-Hansen classification. Displacement of fracture fragment of medial, lateral, posterior malleolus and size of fracture fragment of posterior malleous were measured using picture archiving communication system (PACS). Results: Although kappa value between two or four radiographic views were good or excellent in Danis-Weber classification and Lauge-Hansen classification of ankle fractures, the displacements of medial and lateral malleoli were statistically different. Four radiographic views evalulated the degree of displacement of medial and lateral fragments more accurately compared to two radiographic views. Conclusion: Four radiographic views will be more useful than two radiographic views to decide the method of treatment and operation considering the displacement of fracture fragment.

Views on the Orientation of Science in Decision-Making Revealed in Undergraduate Students' Discussion on Socio-Scientific Issues

  • The aim of this study was to identify students' views on the orientation of science and to investigate the relationship between their views and decision-making on socio-scientific issues (SSI). In this study, 27 university students attending a science course were asked to discuss four controversial issues: the Toyota recall, the green car, the global warming and swine influenza (influenza A (H1N1)). The study was comprised of two stages. At the first stage, we examined students' views on the nature of science and on the orientation of science with the open-ended questionnaire based on VNOS and VOSTS. While they held relatively similar views on the nature of science, their views on the orientation of science were distinct as pragmatic, intrinsic, communal and ethical views. At the second stage, to examine the role of their views on the orientation of science in decision-making, we selected four students who had similar views on NOS but different views on the orientation of science. The four students were selected from each group of views on the orientation of science and their decision-making processes were analyzed following grounded theory. Across SSIs, they relied upon their views on the orientation of science as the strategies for decision, though considered different perception, and causal and contextual conditions. This study indicates that understanding students' views on the orientation of science would be helpful for achieving scientific literacy for informed decision.

과학 교사의 물리와 생물에 관한 관점 비교: 물리 전공 교사를 중심으로 (The Views about Physics and Biology of Science Teachers who majored in Physics)

  • 이 연구는 물리 전공인 과학 교사의 물리와 생물에 관한 관점을 조사하고 이를 비교하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 45명의 중등학교 물리 전공 교사를 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였으며, 전체적으로 이들의 물리에 관한 관점이 생물에 대한 관점보다 전문가의 관점에 가까운 것으로 나타났으나 두 과목의 관점 모두 전문가의 관점과 유사하다고 보기 어려웠다. 구조, 방법론, 타당성, 반성적 사고 차원의 점수는 물리가, 학습 가능성 차원은 생물의 점수가 유의미하게 높았으며, 개인적 관련 차원은 두 과목이 유사하였다. 특히 물리의 학습 가능성 차원의 점수는 비전문가의 관점에 더 가까웠다. 또한 물리 전공 교사는 물리는 생물보다 일관성 있고 체계적이며 논리적인 반면 학습하기 어려운 과목으로 보는 경향이 큰 것으로 보인다.

Conjunctive Query Rewriting in the Context of Data Integration

  • The problem of query rewriting using views has interested in the context of data integration where source data is described by the views on global relations. When the query and views are of the form of conjunctive queries, the rewriting is a union of conjunctive queries each of which is contained in the original query and consists of only views. Most previous methods for query rewriting using views are 2-step algorithms. In the first step, they identify the views that are useful in rewriting and in the second step they construct all correct rewritings by combining the views that gained in the first step. The larger the number of selected views in the first step, the larger the number of candidate rewritings in the second step. We want to minimize the number of selected views in the first step by defining stringent conditions for a view to be participated in rewritings. In this paper, first we offer a necessary condition for the existence of a rewriting that includes a view. For the common case that predicate repetitions are not allowed in the bodies of views, we show that our algorithm for testing the condition is done in a polynomial-time. Second, we offer an algorithm to construct contained rewritings using the view instances that are computed in the first step. The exponential containment-mapping test in the second step is not needed in our algorithm.

데이터웨어하우징에서 자립유지를 지향하는 실체뷰 관리 정책 (Policy of Managing Materialized Views by Orienting toward Self-Maintenance in Data Warehousing)

  • More views in data warehouse, can respond to the users more rapidly because the user's requests might be processed by accessing only the materialized views with higher probabilities rather than accessing base relations. But, the update duration for maintaining materialized views limits the number of materialized views in data warehouse. In this paper, we propose the algorithm for reducing update duration of materialized views, of which aggregation functions are maintained by self-maintenance. We also implement the proposed algorithm and evaluate the performance of the algorithm.

A Semantic Approach to the Design of Valid and Reversible Semistructured Views

  • Existing systems that support semistructured views do not maintain semantics during the process of designing the views. Thus, these systems do not guarantee the validity and reversibility of the views. In this paper, we propose an approach to address the issue of valid and reversible semistructured views, We design a set of view operators for designing semistructured views. These operators are select, drop, join and swap. For each operator, we develop a complete set of rules to maintain the semantics of the views. In particular, we maintain the evolution and integrity of relationships once an operator is applied. We also examine the reversible view problem under our operators and develop rules to guarantee that the designed views are reversible. Finally, we examine the changes in the participation constraints of relationship types during the view design process, and develop rules to ensure the correctness of the participation constraints.

데이터웨어하우징에서 MIN/MAX질의를 고려한 뷰관리 정책 (View Maintenance Policy for considering MIN/MAX query in Data warehousing)

  • 데이터웨어하우스에서 실체뷰는 사용자의 정보처리 요구에 신속하게 응답하기 위한 주요한 수단이다. 데이터웨어하우스내에 실체뷰의 개수가 많을수록 사용자의 질의요구를 실체뷰내에서 처리할 수 있는 확률이 높아지므로 신속한 응답이 가능하다. 데이터웨어하우스내에 유지할 수 있는 실체뷰의 개수에 대한 주요 제약은 기본릴레이션의 변화에 기인하는 실체뷰 갱신시간이다. 본 논문에서는 MIN/MAX 함수를 포함하는 실체뷰에 대해서 기본릴레이션의 MIN/MAX값의 변화가 빈번할 경우에도 실체뷰 갱신시간을 절약할 수 있는 효율적인 실체뷰 갱신정책을 제안한다. 기본릴레이션의 MIN/MAX값의 변경을 삽입/삭제연산으로 구분하여 실체뷰를 갱신하면 실체뷰의 MIN/MAX값 갱신을 위하여 기본릴레이션에 접근해야 할 횟수가 줄어든다.

중등학생들의 자연에 대한 인식론적 관점과 존재론적 관점 (Secondary School Students' Epistemological View and Ontological View about Nature)

  • 이 연구는 중등학생들이 가지고 있는 자연에 대한 관점중 인식론적 관점과 존재론적 관점과 그러한 관점의 원인을 알아보고자 하였다. 156명의 중등학생들이 참여했고, 자료는 설문지를 통해 수집되었다. 이 설문지는 선행연구에 기초하여 연구자들에 의해 개발되었다. 연구 결과, 중등학생들의 자연에 대한 관점 중에는 자연은 알 수 없다는 인식론적 관점이 가장 많았다. 이러한 관점의 근원은 자연의 규칙성과 조화, 예측 가능한 자연 현상, 자연 현상의 순환 과정이나 인과 관계, 자연과 인간과의 관계 등으로 매우 다양하였다. 중등학생들의 존재론적 관점에는 초자연적인 관점이 가장 많았다. 존재론적 관점들 중에서 학생들의 초자연적 관점은 그들의 신학적 측면의 영향이 광범위하게 나타났다. 과학이 다루는 세상이면서 동시에 과학의 대상물이 존재하는 물질세계인 자연에 대한 인식론적 관점과 존재론적 관점은 학습자가 과학 학습을 어떻게 이해하는지에 대한 바탕을 제공하는 중요한 자료가 된다. 앞으로 학생들이 가지고 있는 자연에 대한 인식론적 관점과 존재론적 관점과 그들의 과학 학습 과정 사이의 관련성의 연구가 필요하다.
