최근 HD(High Definition)화질 및 UHD(Ultra High Definition)화질과 같은 고품질 방송 서비스가 등장하고, 무선 네트워크 기술의 발달로 스마트폰, 태블릿PC 등과 같은 다양한 휴대용 멀티미디어 기기들이 존재함에 따라, 소비자들은 다양한 환경에서 고해상도 영상을 고품질로 사용하기를 원하고 있다. 따라서 스케일러빌러티의 현실적 필요성이 점점 대두되고 있으며, 이에 따라 ISO/IEC의 MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group)와 ITU-T의 VCEG(Video Coding Experts Group)이 공동으로 결성한 Joint Collaborative Team on Video Coding(JCT-VC)에 의해 시간, 공간, 화질 등이 확장성을 제공하는 Scalable Video Coding(SVC)의 표준화가 진행되고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 공간적, 시간적, 화질적 스케일러빌러티(Scalability)를 제공하기 위한 SHVC의 표준 기술들에 대해 설명하고, 기존 단일 계층 부호화 방식(Single Video Coding)으로 서로 다른 해상도의영상을 Simulcast부호화한 결과와 비교하여 SHVC의 부호화한 결과와 비교하여 SHVC의 보호화 효율에 대한 성능을 분석 하였다.

본 논문은 사용자의 인터랙션(user interaction)을 고려하여, 사용자가 관심을 가지는 영역에 대해서 최적화된 비디오 콘텐츠를 제공받을 수 있는 비디오 서비스 시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 사용자 인터랙티브티를 고려한 서비스 시스템은 SVC(Scalable Video Coding)의 다중 ROI를 사용한다. 또한 제안된 시스템에서는 다양한 방식의 비디오 품질과, 다중 ROI에 대한 선택 과정에서 콘텐츠 소비 주체와 시스템간의 쌍방향 제어 수단을 개발하고 콘텐츠의 관심 영역 지정 과정에서 사용자의 인터렉션 정보를 이용하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템의 유효성을 테스트하기 위해 사용자의 인터랙션에 의해 변환하는 SVC 콘텐트를 만들었고, 사용자 단말에 인터렉션 기능으로 SVC 콘텐츠를 디코딩하는 시스템을 구현하여 유용성을 검증하였다.

In this paper, we propose Media GIS web service architecture using 3D geographical database and GPS-related data resulted from 4S-Van. We introduce a novel interoperable geographical data service concept; so-called, Virtual World Mapping (VWM) that can map 3D graphic world with real-world video. Our proposed method can easily retrieve geographical in-formation and attributes to reconstruct 3D virtual space according to certain frame in video sequences. Our proposed system architecture also has an advantage that can provide geographical information service with video stream without any image processing procedures. In addition to, describing the details of our components, we present a Media GIS web service system by using GeoVideo Server, which performs VWM technique.

In this paper, we propose a video browsing service that provides both video content search and video browsing through a real-time user interface on the web. We propose an efficient scene change detection method that combines an RGB color histogram and a 𝛘² histogram for scene segmentation and key frame extraction of image sequences.

As immersive video contents have started to emerge in the commercial market, research on it is required. For this, efficient coding methods for immersive video are being studied in the MPEG-I Visual workgroup, and they released Test Model for Immersive Video (TMIV). In current TMIV, the patches are packed into atlas in order of patch size. However, this simple patch packing method can reduce the coding efficiency in terms of 2D encoder. In this paper, we propose patch packing method which pack the patches into atlases by using the similarity of each patch for improving coding efficiency of 3DoF+ video. Experimental result shows that there is a 0.3% BD-rate savings on average over the anchor of TMIV.

Video GIS is a spatial information system where video is used and integrated with map or other media such as 3D graphics, image, video, and satellite imagery. The information expressed by video, in nature, can provide realistic information. The connection of map and image of actual geographic object brings realistic visualization, which overcomes the limitation of conventional map-based GIS. In the suggested video GIS, location information is contained in video data and thereby enables two-sided searching, browsing, and analyses. In this paper, we suggest video GIS that integrates and manages video and map, and that constructs spatial information. We also develop a prototype system of video GIS in the field of roadside facility management, and show the results.

Even though we basically regard spoken English like listening and speaking rather than written language as an important principle in Elementary Education of English, actually students are being taught English only by imitating what they heard and watched through audio or video tapes in the scene of elementary school. Of course, it is successful to learn English focused on a spoken language not in EFL(English as a foreign language) but in ESL(English as a second language) circumstance. Therefore, we provide products of multimedia contents in order to give opportunities which can make use of English in the classroom through the Web in this paper. In addition to it, we write this paper on method to strengthen motivation for learning language even out of the classroom by putting English to practical use through video conference system or E-mail exchange.

With the development of computer technologies and the increase of internet users, Internet plays an important role in job-recruitment business. However, almost of the sites which provide job offering and job hunting service, merely have the function such as simple inquiry for information corresponding to job offering and job hunting. In this research, the online website whose task is supporting whole procedure of recruitment for real enterprises is constructed to apply the interview procedures of the real enterprises through internet. We utilize the video conference to increase the reality for interview. Also it has functions such as presentation of application form and resume and self introduction using the video conference. Through the online recruitment website we can expect time and cost saving for recruitment for both sides of enterprise to hunt the person and people to seek the job.

This study has based on RTKGPS and DGPS and Digital Video Camera to 3-dimensional position data of road, as a Road Spatial Information. Economic efficiency analysis was applied to road spatial information system built up by four different methods such as conventional surveying, RTK GPS, DGPS, and Digital Video Camera. As a result of analysis, it was shown conventional surveying 100%, it was shown that about 64% in RTKGPS, it was shown that about 63% in DGPS, it was shown that about 37% in Digital Video Camera cost-saving.

This paper proposes an efficient algorithm of extracting anchor blocks for a semantic structure of a news video. We define the FRFD to calculate the frame difference of anchor face position rather than simply uses the general frame difference. Since, The FRFD value is sensitive to existing face in frame, anchor block can be efficiently extracted. In this paper, an algorithm to extract a face position using partial decoded MPEG data is also proposed. In this way a news video can be structured semantically using the extracted anchor blocks.
