Factors Affecting the Popularity of Video Clip: The Case of Naver TV (영상클립의 인기요인에 대한 실증 연구: 네이버 TV를 중심으로)

  • This study analyzed Naver TV users' pattern of video clip watching, and analyzed the factors affecting the popularity of Naver TV's video clip. We selected 572 individual video clips that were ranked 50th in Naver TV rankings from September 10th to September 24th in 2017. We classified video clip's characteristics into several factors, including the number of likes, the number of subscriber, genre, video clip's types, and star appearances. We indexed the popularity of video clip, which implies the degree of popularity for each video clip. The results showed that the number of likes for video clips and the number of subscribers for each video clip were positively related to the popularity of video clip. Video clip's genre, video clip's type and star power positively affected the popularity of video clip. The effect of extras genre on the popularity of video clip was the lowest, followed by entertainment, music, and drama genre. but the difference among entertainment, music and drama genre was not statistically significant. Web-only video and non-broadcast video positively affected the popularity of video clip. Finally, the popularity of video clip was higher when stars appeared in the video clip.

Transforming Text into Video: A Proposed Methodology for Video Production Using the VQGAN-CLIP Image Generative AI Model

  • With the development of AI technology, there is a growing discussion about Text-to-Image Generative AI. We presented a Generative AI video production method and delineated a methodology for the production of personalized AI-generated videos with the objective of broadening the landscape of the video domain. And we meticulously examined the procedural steps involved in AI-driven video production and directly implemented a video creation approach utilizing the VQGAN-CLIP model. The outcomes produced by the VQGAN-CLIP model exhibited a relatively moderate resolution and frame rate, and predominantly manifested as abstract images. Such characteristics indicated potential applicability in OTT-based video content or the realm of visual arts. It is anticipated that AI-driven video production techniques will see heightened utilization in forthcoming endeavors.

  • Internet has been becoming widely popular and making rapid progress and network technologies is showing extension in data transmission speeds. Rapid and convenient multimedia services supplied with high quality and high speed are being needed, This paper treats of the design and implement method of clip-based video retrieval system on the world-wide-web environments. The implemented system consists of the content-based indexing system supporting convenient services for video contents providers and the web-based retrieval system in order to make it easy and various information retrieval for users on the world-wide-web. Three important methods were used in the content-based indexing system. Key frame extracting method by dividing video data, clip file creation method by clustering related information and video database build method by using clip unit, In web-based retrieval system, retrieval method by using a key word, two dimension browsing method of key frame and real-time display method of the clip were used. As a result. the proposed methodologies showed a usefulness of video content providing. and provided an easy method for searching intented video content.

An Efficient Video Clip Matching Algorithm Using the Cauchy Function (커쉬함수를 이용한 효율적인 비디오 클립 정합 알고리즘)

  • According to the development of digital media technologies various algorithms for video clip matching have been proposed to match the video sequences efficiently. A large number of video search methods have focused on frame-wise query, whereas a relatively few algorithms have been presented for video clip matching or video shot matching. In this paper, we propose an efficient algorithm to index the video sequences and to retrieve the sequences for video clip query. To improve the accuracy and performance of video sequence matching, we employ the Cauchy function as a similarity measure between histograms of consecutive frames, which yields a high performance compared with conventional measures. The key frames extracted from segmented video shots can be used not only for video shot clustering but also for video sequence matching or browsing, where the key frame is defined by the frame that is significantly different from the previous frames. Experimental results with color video sequences show that the proposed method yields the high matching performance and accuracy with a low computational load compared with conventional algorithms.

Analysis of the Psychological Effects of Exposure to Different Types of Waterscape Facilities for Urban Green Space Planning

  • To create urban landscapes that take human emotion into consideration, the present study verified the psychological effects of artificial waterscape facilities on users, as these facilities significantly impact their psychological comfort. Data was collected using the SD scales and POMS of 60 male and 60 female participants after they watched a video of four waterscape facilities. Participants deemed the video clip of a fountain waterscape to be artificial and linked it with changeable images that increased their vigor. The video clip of waterfall stimulated various impressions (e.g., vital, liked, active, etc.) and changed participant' mood states by increasing their vigor and decreasing fatigue. The video clip of the pond yielded familiar impressions, produced less free images, and decreased tension among participants. Finally, the video clip of the stream stimulated quiet and comfortable images as well as reduced negative feelings of anger, confusion, and depression among participants. Furthermore, males experienced more positive effects than females, regardless of the type of waterscape facility. The study findings indicate that the four different waterscape facilities influenced participants' mood states. Additionally, the psychological effects differed by gender. The data suggest that landscape planners need to carefully consider their choice of waterscape facility when designing green spaces to ensure that the space is psychologically comforting to users.

  • As computing technologies are rapidly progressed and widely used, the needs of high quality information have been increased. To satisfy these needs, it is essential to develop a system which can provide an efficient storing, managing and retrieving mechanism of complex multimedia data, esp. video data. In this paper, we propose a metadata model which can support content-based retrieval of video data. And we design and implement an integrated user interface for querying and browser for content-based retrieval in video database which can efficiently access and browse the video clip that user want to see. Proposed query processor and browser can support various user queries by integrating image feature, spatial temporal feature and annotation. Our system supports structure browsing of retrieved result, so users can more exactly and efficiently access relevant video clip. Without browsing the whole video clip, users can know the contents of video by seeing the storyboard. This storyboard facility makes users know more quickly the content of video clip.

  • Recently the change of content consumption trend activated the social video sharing platform and the video clip itself. There have been intensive interests and efforts to automatically abstract compact and meaningful video clips. In this paper, we propose a method which use the clustering of the bookmark data created by collective intelligence instead of using the video content analysis. The partitional clustering of points in 2-dimensional space derived from the bookmark data make it possible to abstract highlights effectively. The method is enhanced by the 1-dimensional accumulated bookmark count graph. Experiments on the real data from KBS internet service show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • This study investigates the perception of different fabrics by consumers when provided with a video clip with rustling sounds of the fabric. We utilized sportswear products that are currently on the market and evaluated the emotional response of internet shoppers by measuring the physiological and psychological responses. Three kinds of vapor-permeable water-repellent fabric were selected to generate video clips each containing the fabric rustling sound and images of exercise activities wearing the sportswear made of the respective fabric. The new experimental website contained the video clips and was compared with the original website which served as a control. 30 subjects, who had experience to buy clothing online, took part in the physiological and psychological response to the video clip. Electroen-cephalography (EEG) was used to measure the physiological response while the psychological response consisted of evaluating accurate perception of the fabric, satisfaction, and consumer interest. When we offered video clips with fabric's rustling sound on the website, subjects answered they could get more accurate and rapid information to decide to purchase the products than otherwise they do the shopping without such information. However, such rustling sounds somewhat annoy customers, as proved psychological and physiological response. Our study is a critical step in evaluating the consumer's emotional response to sportswear fabric which will promote selling frequency, reduce the return rate and aid development of new sportswear fabric further evolution of the industry.

  • Recently, many researches into distributed processing on Internet, and multimedia data processing have been performed. Rapid and convenient multimedia services supplied with high quality and high speed are to be needed. In this paper, we design and implement clip-based video retrieval system on the Web enviroment in real-time. Our system consists of the content-based indexing system supporting convenient services for video content providers, and the Web-based retrieval system in order to make it easy and various information retrieval for users in the Web. In this paper, we design and implement the system that supports real-time retrieval for video clips on Web environment and provides the multimedia service in stability. The proposed methods show a usefulness of video content providing, and provide an easy method for serching intented video content.

The Effects of Communication Training Applying Gagné's Nine Events of Instruction and Video Clips upon Communication Competency and Interpersonal Relations in Nursing Students (가네의 9가지 수업사태와 비디오 클립을 적용한 의사소통 훈련이 간호대학생의 의사소통 능력과 대인관계에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of teaching communication training using $Gagn{\acute{e}}^{\prime}s$ 9 events of instruction and video clip on communication competency and interpersonal relations of nursing students. Methods: The participants were 79 nursing students (41 in the intervention group, 38 in the control group). A nonequivalent control group design was used. The research was carried out from September 7 to November 20, 2015. Teaching communication skills using $Gagn{\acute{e}}^{\prime}s$ 9 events of instruction and video clip were provided to the intervention group 180 minutes/session once a week for 9 weeks. Data were analyzed using chi-square test, independent t-test and ANCOVA with SPSS/PC version 21.0. Results: The intervention group reported significantly higher scores of communication competency(F=8.41, p=.005) and interpersonal relations(F=8.97 p=.004) compared to those of the control group at the completion of the intervention. Conclusion: The findings of this study show that $Gagn{\acute{e}}^{\prime}s$ 9 events of instruction and video clip is an effective communication training for improving communication competency and interpersonal relations in nursing students. A randomized clinical trial is needed to confirm the value of communication training using $Gagn{\acute{e}}^{\prime}s$ 9 events of instruction and video clip for nursing students.
