  • The inverse pseudo excitation method is used in the identification of random loadings. For structures subjected to stationary random excitations, the power spectral density matrices of such loadings are identified experimentally. The identification is based on the measured acceleration responses and the structural frequency response functions. Numerical simulation is used in the optimal selection of sensor locations. The proposed method has been successfully applied to the loading identification experiments of three structural models, two uniform steel cantilever beams and a four-story plastic glass frame, subjected to uncorrelated or partially correlated random excitations. The identified loadings agree quite well with actual excitations. It is proved that the proposed method is quite accurate and efficient in addition to its ability to alleviate the ill conditioning of the structural frequency response functions.

  • In the industrial field, real-time monitoring system like a fault early detection is very important. For this, the infrared thermography technique as a new diagnosis method is proposed. This study is focused on the damage detection and temperature characteristic analysis of ball bearing using the non-destructive infrared thermography method. In this paper, thermal image and temperature data were measured by a Cedip Silver 450 M infrared camera. Based on the results, the temperature characteristics under the conditions of normal, loss lubrication, damage, dynamic loading, and damage under loading were analyzed. It was confirmed that the infrared technique is very useful for the detection of the bearing damage.

  • It is well known that a specific experimental method such as the Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) technique is the simplest experimental technique to determine the dynamic material properties under the impact compressive loading conditions with strain-rate of the order of $10^3/s{\sim}10^4/s$. This type of experimental procedure has been widely used with proper modification on the test setups to determine the varying dynamic response of materials for the dynamic boundary conditions such as tensile and fracture as well. In this paper, dynamic compressive deformation behaviors of an Ethylene Copolymer materials widely used for the isolation of vibration from varying structures under dynamic loading are estimated using the SHPB technique.

  • This paper describes the structural design and testing for 1.5kW class wind turbine composite blade. In order to calculate the equivalent material properties rule-of-mixture is applied. Lay-up sequence, ply thickness and ply angle are designed to satisfy the requirements for structural integrity. Structural analysis by using commercial software ABAQUS is performed to assess the static, buckling and vibration response. And to verify the structural analysis and design, the full scale structural test in flapwise direction was performed under single point loading according to loading conditions calculated by the aerodynamic analysis and Case H (Parked wind loading) in IEC 61400-2.

  • In order to develop the compatible damping device in various vibration source, a hybrid wall-type damper combining slit and friction damper in parallel was developed. Cyclic loading tests and two-story RC reinforced frame tests were performed for structural performance verification. As a result of the 5-cyclic loading test according to KBC-2016 and low displacement cyclic fatigue test, The hybrid wall type damper increased its strength and the ductility was the same as that of the slit damper. In addition, As a result of the two-layer frame test, the reinforced frame had about twice the strength of the unreinforced frame, and the story drift ratio was satisfied to Life Safety Level.

  • Critical multi-field loads and free vibration responses of the sandwich piezoelectric/piezomagnetic microplate subjected to combination of magnetoelectromechanical loads based on a thickness-stretched higher order shear deformable model using Hamilton's principle. The lateral displacement is assumed summation of bending, shearing and stretching functions. The elasti core is sandwiched by a couple of piezoelectric/piezomagnetic face-sheets subjected to electromagnetocmechanical loads. The work of external force is calculated with considering the in-plane mechanical, electrical and magnetic loads based on piezomagnetoelasticity relations. The critical multi field loading and natural frequency analysis are performed to investigate influence of geometric and loading parameters on the responses. A verification is performed for justification of the numerical results.

  • By rising the interests of the railroad, It has been required the research about railroad structure. And since 2000, the study about railway bridges caused by steel box railway bridges has been only 0.2%. So I was hard to find out about steel box railway bridges. In this study, I evaluate and analyze 4 types(KTX, Saemaeul, Mugunghwa, Freight) of dynamic caused by train loading, natural frequency and damping ratio, verticality deflection and verticality acceleration, end slope deflection, impact factor for dynamic characteristics analysis. natural frequency was measured 2.45Hz~3.34Hz and damping ratio revealed for 1.26~2.84%. Maximum verticality deflection(4.86mm) was sufficiently satisfied the design criteria(30.1mm), but in the case of verticality acceleration's respond, design criteria BRDM(Bridge Design Manual) & CTRL presentation derive rail limit value 0.35g be more than value 6 time recorded, maximum was measured 0.49g in 3 kinds of train(KTX, Saemaeul, Mugunghwa), except for Freight. Survey impact factor of Experiment bridge was 0.20 which is measured when the KTX(15:04) was driving. impact factor is enough contended with design criteria 0.29 which is presented in domestic railway design criteria and thoroughly guarantee the dynamic stability.

  • In this study, the panel joint behavior by the vehicle load moving on precast panel is analyzed. The frame was made for loading and the behavior was determined by using each measuring device. The static response of the panel was examined and compared with the theoretical value, and it was found that the characteristics were very reasonable. In addition, acceleration, velocity, and displacement were measured for dynamic impact evaluation, and the characteristics of moving load were analyzed in the test. The vibration frequency of the panel was measured for the dynamic response by the moving load, and the vibration characteristic was considered to be sensitive to the range of the load. As a result, it is considered that the dynamic response of the connection part should be careful in design because the characteristics are different according to the connection method.
