Design of 3 Axis Active Mount System Using Piezoelectric Actuators (압전작동기를 이용한 3축 능동 마운트 시스템의 설계)

  • This work presents a 3-axis active mount featuring the piezoelectric stack actuators. The inertia configuration for the piezoelectric actuators is adopted to achieve appropriate force and moment in each axis. In addition, the rubber mount is integrated to provide stiffness for system loading. In order to analyze the active mount, the governing equation for the force and moment is derived and its validity is demonstrated by comparing generated force and moment of each actuator between analysis and experiment. In addition, the natural frequency of each actuator is identified though both simulation and experiment.

  • Acoustic response control of a corner-pinned plate using piezoelectric wafers was studied, both theoretically and experimentally. Three different sizes of aluminum alloy plates were used and available ball joints were employed to hold the plate at the four comers. The plate with the largest aspect ratio showed the largest and most clear responses to the acoustic excitation in the range of frequencies $(0\sim200Hz)$, and sound pressure levels $(80\sim100dB)$ as predicted. The reduction of the acoustic response of the plate by piezoelectric actuator was very significant, more than expected, but abatement of the sound transmission through the plate was only slightly altered by the piezoelectric actuator. This work is an original work extending earlier work with doors excited by acoustic fields. The important difference is the used of ball joints to simulate the joints.

  • This paper proposes a new type of HDD suspension integrated with shape memory alloy(SMA) actuator in order to prevent the friction between the slider and the disk. A finite element analysis is undertaken to investigate modal characteristics of the proposed self loading/unloading slider. The dynamic model is formulated and its validity is proved by comparing the predicted displacement transmissibility with the measured one. A control model is then established by integrating experimentally-obtained SMA actuator dynamics. Subsequently, a sliding mode controller is designed to achieve non-contact start/stop(Non CSS) modes, and control results are presented in time domain.

A Robust Track-following Control for the Stable Coarse Seek (안정적인 조동 검색을 위한 강인 트랙 추종 제어)

  • In this paper, we provide a robust track-following controller design method for the stable coarse seek control. Due to the inaccurate velocity control during a coarse seek, the shake of fine actuator is generated and thus a gain-up track-following control is required to complete stably the coarse seek. To this end, a loop gain adjustment algorithm is introduced to estimate accurately the shake of fine actuator. A weighting function can be properly selected from a minimum tracking gain-up open-loop gain, calculated from the estimated shake quantity of fine actuator. A robust tracking gain-up controller is designed by considering a robust $H_{\infty}$ control problem using the weighting function. The proposed design method is applied to the coarse seek control system of an optical rewritable drive and is evaluated through the experimental results.
