  • Radiation efficiency of a cylindrical shell whose surface vibrates under harmonic distribution is investigated by theoretical solutions and Boundary Element Method. The vibration modes of a cylindrical shell is determined from experiment and is compared with the result of Finite Element Method. Harmonic vibration response of the cylindrical shell under the point excitation and the radiation phenomena from its response is analyzed by Finite Element Method and Boundary Element Method.

  • Vibration localization characteristics of repeated mistuned structures are investigated by two ways. The mistuning often creates significant response discrepancies among subcomponents of the repeated structures. As a result of the discrepancies, critical fatigue problems often occur in repeated structures. Therefore, it is of great importance to predict the vibration response of the mistuned repeated structures accurately. In this paper, a simplified model is employed and dimensionless parameters that influence the localization characteristics are first identified. Through the parameter study, the two localization phenomena are investigated and compared.

  • Springing phenomena of ships is introduced with its concept, research history and approach methodology. Being a hydroelasticity problem, non-linear vibration and stochastic process, springing was formulated and modeled in vibration point of view separating hydrodynamic force into system properties and excitation force. Both RAO and response spectrum as well as wave spectrum were presented as a case study of springing analysis for a flexible vessel with wide breadth. The effect of advance speed, heading angle and loading condition were investigated as parametric study. The results and observations showed availability of analysis for the prediction of the ship springing behavior.

고낙차 펌프-터빈에서의 축계 진동 특성 (Characteristics of the Shaft Vibration in a High Head Pump-Turbine)

  • This paper describes the shaft vibration phenomena measured on a pump-turbine ofa pumped storage power plant. The pump-turbine runs at a rotational speed of 450 rpm (7.5 Hz). The power output (load) of the pump-turbine was varied from 100 to 300 MW in the generating mode. It was found that the magnitude of the shaft vibration was highly dependent upon the power load. The vibration magnitude of the shaft vibration is very high in the middle load zone from 170 to 210 MW, elsewhere the vibration low. From vibration spectra, it was found that the frequency of major vibration in that load zone was 2.5 Hz which is approximately $34\%$ of the shaft rotating speed in Hz. This frequency component disappeared below and above that load zone. This subsynchronous vibration is caused by the flow induced disturbance due to spiral vortex flow downstream of the pump-turbine runner. Furthermore, it was found that shaft vibration was highly decreased due to the increase of bearing preload.

기포진동 주파수응답의 비선형적 현상 (Nonlinear Aspects of the Frequency Response of a Gas-filled Bubble Oscillator)

  • 기포 진동 시스템에 대한 수치해석이 수행되었다. 수학적 모델은 기포역학에 대해서는 Keller의 식을, 기포내부 해석을 위해서는 Prosperetti의 식을 채택하였다. Prosperetti는 기포내부 해석을 위해 에너지 방정식을 도입하였으며 매우 정확한 해석을 가능케 하였다. 수치해석결과 기포진동의 주파수 응답곡선에 있어 전형적인 비선형 현상들을 볼 수 있었다. 이러한 비선형 현상들에는 점프현상(jump phenomena), 공진주파수의 변화, 그리고 superharmonic 공진점의 발생등이 있다. 비선형 주파수 응답은 기포진동 시스템의 초기조건에 따라 달라지는데 이에 의해 어느 가진 주파수 대역에서는 두개 이상의 해가 존재할 수 있게 된다. 기포진동 시스템에서 비선형 진동현상은 Duffing 방정식과 비교가 되는데 두 시스템은 비슷한 비선형 현상들을 가지고 있다고 볼 수 있다.

자동차 배터리 지지 구조의 진동 피로 해석에 대한 연구 (Study on Vibration Fatigue Analysis of Automotive Battery Supporter)

  • In this paper, the vibration load and analysis results for automotive battery supporter were performed to provide efficient vibration tolerance performance prediction methods for single-product vibration tolerance testing, and the major influencing factors and considerations for setting up single-unit vibration tolerance tests were reviewed. A common applicable standard load was applied to efficiently predict the performance of single-unit vibrations through the frequency response analysis technique. The results similar to test results can be predicted by checking vulnerable parts of the vehicle components for vibration loads and applying scale factor to standard loads. In addition, it was confirmed that the test conditions with a frequency generating the same durability severity as the endurance test are needed for accurate prediction of the durability of the single-unit vibration tolerance test conditions, and the acceleration and frequency with the conditions that there is no significant nonlinear phenomena in the vibration system are established during the single-unit vibration tolerance test conditions.

CBN 연삭숫돌의 초음파 인프로세스 드레싱 기법 (A Study on the Ultrasonic In-Process Dressing Method of CBN Grinding Wheel)

  • A CBN wheel was used for the highly efficient and precision grinding of the mold material(STD11). The grinding form accuracy by a CBN wheel is very excellent due to its low wheel wear, but grinding fragments resemble fine powders rather chips. A fine powders by this fragmentation can easily get attached to the wheel surface and therefore causing a loading. In order to prevent this fragmentation phenomena, the alumina stick is use to processing. Because the dressing with alumina stick should be interrupted for a processing, the automation of the processing and high productivity was very difficult. The investigation on the effect of Ultrasonic In-Process Dressing(ULID) on the grinding characteristics focuses in this Paper. This ULID method is that ultrasonic vibration in my Position of wheel is used to remove impurities on the wheel surface. Finally, the rate of surface roughness change in grinding by the ULID method was less than grinding without ultrasonic vibration. Loading phenomena by the ULID method were more prevented than grinding without ultrasonic vibration.
