The Roadway caused through Power Train engine vibration and bad ride comfort. It is very important to analyze the vibratory characteristics. The mathematical models on the Power Train, which is composed of engine-/transmission block, universal joint shaft, differential, rear axle arm and wheels, are developed and is verified by the experiments. This Paper describes the coupling influence occurred through a complete drive system for the power train. Dies study is carried out computationally with a calculation program and experimentally with the aid of the mode analysis.

The development of transportation and construction equipment has required higher engine power and lower operation cost. The sound which the engine emits often degrade the performance of the whole system which adopts that engine. Specially the marine engine requires high restriction on the noise level for the customer's comfort and safety. The noise and vibration of Diesel engine must be carefully considered in the early design step. The double antivibration system is effective to increase the efficiency of antivibration, and the acoustic enclosure for reducing the noise level. 2 DOF model was effective to estimate the antivibration performance, which allows to determine the mass of the engine bed and the specification of the engine mount. The mass distribution of the enclosure system can be considered effectively by using the FEM model. The design contains structurally rigid engine bed by FEM, which is for reducing the influence of the flexible vibration, rubber mount selection as well as the acoustic enclosure design.
Vibrations exposured to human whole-body are transmitted through the contact area of a human body, such as feet, hip and back directly in contact with vibrating surface. they apparently leads to the decrease of human comfort, the reduction of working efficiency or normal activities, and, furthermore, causes the loss of health and safety. In this study, UH-1 vibration has been measured to produce the flight-time limitation at each mission Results of this study show that the most significant peaks appear at a main rotor blade-passage frequency and that the vibration level in ground is higher than that in airborne In addition, it is shown that the most affective aspect for the flight-time limitation is ground vibration level
In this paper, the process of development of resilient sleepers, which improves the train safety, passenger comfort and reduces the noise and vibration, is presented. To optimize the bonding method between elastic pad and PC sleeper, special pad shape like arrow is adopted and is applied in manufacturing. Bonding strength and reduction effects of vibration of the resilient sleepers are experimentally investigated. From the experiment results, it is investigated that the bonding strenth is enough to satisfaction the criteria and the vibration characteristic is also more effective for sleeper with elastic pad than that in ordinary PC form. These results indicate that the elastic pad can reduce possibility of rail-corrugations and thus resulting in the reduction of maintenance costs.
The human subject perception response according to vertical vibration and pitching was analyzed with a five degree of freedom model. The vehicle dynamic system with the delayed colored noise excitation and the passenger perception response was arranged as an integrated viration system and could be analyzed simultaneously for seven different combination of vehicle suspension. ISO2631 and BS6841 was adapted for analyzing the passenger perception reponse. Simulation results shows that passenger feel relatively less discomfort due to pitching compared to vertical vibration and road type was not necessary to be considered as a design parameter in view of comfort analysis.
The clutch with torsional damper is installed on a passenger car with manual transmission, which not only transmits the power generated by engine to the transmission but also absorbs the shock and vibration from the engine. The torsional damper in the clutch dissipates the torsional vibration energy and eliminates the resonance in the driveline but high damping in the damper causes the increase of the vibration level which is against the comfort and durability. In this study, a dynamic model for the passenger car driveline with manual transmission was developed to investigate the vibration and the effects of characteristics of the driveline. With the dynamic model, the vibration characteristics of driveline were examined by the mode analysis and driving simulation, and the effects of hysteresis torque and spring constant were investigated. The vehicle tests with prototype torsional dampers were preformed and the test results showed good agreements with the simulation.

It is necessary to predict subway induced vibration if a new subway is to be built. To obtain the vibration response reliably, a three-dimensional (3D) FEM model, consisting of the tunnel, the soil, the subway load and the building above, is established in MIDAS GTS NX. For this study, it is a six-story frame structure built above line 3 of Guangzhou metro. The entire modeling process is described in detail, including the simplification of the carriage load and the determination of model parameters. Vibration measurements have been performed on the site of the building and the model is verified with the collected data. The predicted and measured vibration response are used together to assess vibration level due to the subway traffic in the building. The No.1 building can meet work and residence comfort requirement. This study demonstrates the applicability of the numerical train-tunnel-soil-structure model for the serviceability assessment of subway induced vibration and aims to provide practical references for engineering applications.
This paper presents design and performance evaluation of electro-rheological(ER) shock absorber for electronic control suspension(ECS). In order to achieve this goal, a cylindrical ER shock absorber that satisfies design specifications for a mid-sized commercial passenger vehicle is designed and manufactured to construct ER suspension system for ECS. After experimentally evaluating dynamic characteristics of the manufactured ER shock absorber, the quarter-vehicle ER suspension system consisting of sprung mass, spring, tire and the ER shock absorber is constructed in order to investigate the ride comfort and driving stability. After deriving the equations of the motion for the proposed quarter-vehicle ER suspension system, the skyhook controller is implemented for the realization of quarter-vehicle ER suspension system. In order to present control performance of ER shock absorber for ECS, ride comfort and driving stability characteristics such as vertical acceleration and tire deflection are experimentally evaluated under various road conditions and presented in both time and frequency domain.
Korean High Speed Train(KHST) has been tested on the high speed test line in Osung site, since it was developed through the G7 Project Plan in 2002. It was also tested on the conventional line such as KyongBu and Honan Line to know the possibility of increasing the limited speed for the high speed trains. This paper introduces the method to improve the speed on the conventional line with body lateral acceleration among the several considered issues and explains the parameters related to those analysis, such as the cant deficiency, the radius of curve, speed and etc. When a train pass on the curved track, the lateral accelerations of body are divided into the quasi-static and the maximum accelerations according to the UIC 518 which is the international specification for testing and approval of railway vehicles from the point of view of their dynamic behaviour, especially for safety and ride comfort. This paper shows that it is safe and comfort from the results of test when KHST runs on the conventional line with the curves and proposes that the limited speed of conventional curved line could be changed to a little higher speed if the analysises of other fields are completed.
