The usage of constant velocity (CV) joint is effective for motorboats on gliding regime of the motion. During transition on the gliding when angle of the CV differs from null on driving and driven composite shafts there are moments of the second order. Excitation of oscillations of the second order moments occurs when driving shafts transmits a variable torque. which generates through CV joint a lateral moment acting on the bearing. As a result of oscillations from a resonating harmonic of a shafting the harmonic with the greater or periodically varying amplitude for power condition trough transferring to nominal power 144kW. Beating conditions coincide with third mode having frequency 45.486 Hz. In that case there is high increasing of the equivalent stresses. The forming of the stiffness of the composite material is concerned to use most orientation of the layer angle in the range of $\pm$60 degrees relatively of shaft axis. Application of that angles for layer orientation gives possibility to avoid high disturbance of the shafting for motorboat transition regime.

One of the fascinating prospects is the possibility of new hydrodynamics technology on micro-scale system since oscillations of micro-droplets are of practical and scientific importance. It has been widely conceived that the lowest oscillation mode of a pendant droplet is the longitudinal vibration, i.e. periodic elongation and contraction along the longitudinal direction. Nonlinear and forced oscillations of supported viscous droplet were focused in the present study. The droplet has a free contact line with solid plate and inviscid fluid. Natural frequencies of a pendant droplet have been investigated experimentally by imposing the acoustic wave while the frequency is being increased at a fixed amplitude. It is found that a pendant droplet shows the resonant behaviors at each mode similar to the theoretical analysis. The rotation of the droplet about the longitudinal axis is the oscillation mode of the lowest resonance frequency. This rotational mode can be invoked by periodic acoustic forcing and is analogous to the pendulum rotation. It is also found that the natural frequency of a pendant droplet is independent of the drop density and surface tension but inversely proportional to the square root of the droplet size.

An optical phase tracking technique for an extrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometer (EFPI) is proposed in order to overcome interferometric non-linearity. Basic idea is utilizing strain-rate information, which cannot be easily obtained from an EFPI sensor itself. The proposed phase tracking system consists of a patch-type EFPI sensor and a simple on-line phase tracking logic. The patch-type EFPI sensor comprises an EFPI and a piezoelectric patch. An EFPI sensor itself has non-linear behavior due to the interferometric characteristics, and a piezoelectric material has hysteresis. However, the composed patch-type EFPI sensor system overcomes the problems that can arise when they are used individually. The dynamic characteristics of the proposed phase tracking system were investigated, and then the patch-type EFPI sensor system was applied to the active suppression of flutter, dynamic aeroelastic instability, of a swept-back composite plate structure. The proposed system has effectively reduced the amplitude of the flutter mode, and increased flutter speed.

The present work is an experimental and analytical study on a flexible disk rotating close to a rigid rotating disk in open air. In the analytical study, the air flow in the gap between the flexible disk and the rigid disk is modeled using Navier-Stokes and continuity equations while the flexible disk is modeled using the linear plate theory. The flow equations are discretized using the cell centered finite volume method (FVM) and solved numerically with semi-implicit pressure-linked equations (SIMPLE algorithm). The spatial terms in the disk equation are discretized using the finite difference method (FDM) and the time integration is performed using fourth-order Runge-Kutta method. An experimental test-rig is designed to investigate the dynamics of the flexible disk when rotating close to a co-rotating, a counter-rotating and a fixed rigid disk, which works as a stabilizer. The effects of rotational speed, initial gap height and inlet-hole radius on the flexible disk displacement and its vibration amplitude are investigated experimentally for the different types of stabilizer. Finally, the analytical and experimental results are compared.

This article analyzed the dynamic compaction incuced vibration of man made waste landfill. General dynamic properties and compaction-condition-related dynamic properties were analyzed. from the results, it was turned out that the shear modulus G=17496-58320 t/m2, dannpln ratio D=14~58%, dominant frequency f=6-14Hz. Also, it was turned out that the propagation velocitis of low amplitude shear wave and compressive wave were increased as the number of impact increased, the relation between peak particle velocity, and impact distance was wpp=5.08.[D/r E]-1.4, the peak particle velocity was high at the lower part of the waste fill layer and the range of dynamically improved area was about 6-10m.
A Laser Doppler Vibrometer(LDV) was developed using He-Ne laser as a light source. The heterodyne method was employed and its output signal was digitally processed with a $\mu$-processor and the result was displayed with LCD. The frequency shifted object beam(40 MHz) by a Bragg cell was focused on the surface of the moving target and the Doppler shifted reflected beam was recombined with reference beam at the fast photodetector to produce frequency modulated signal centered at 40 MHz. The signal from the detector was amplified and downconverted to intermediate frequency centered at 1 MHz after mixing process. The voltage output that was proportional to the velocity of the moving surface was obtained using PLL. With the same method, the fringe pattern signal of the moving surface is obtained. This fringe pattern signal is converted to TTL signal with ZCD(zero-crossing detector) and then counted to calculate the displacement due to the vibration, which is displayed with LCD. This LDV can be used to measure the resonant frequency of the electric equipments such as circuit breakers and transformers, of which resonant frequencies are changed when they are damaged.
Vertical vibration tests were conducted using model footings of different size and mass resting on the surface of finite sand layer with different height to width ratios and underlain by either rigid concrete base or natural red-earth base. A comparative study of the ratio of predicted and observed natural frequency ratio of the finite sand stratum was made using the calculated values of equivalent stiffness suggested by Gazetas (1983) and Baidya and Muralikrishna (2001). Comparison of results between model footings resting on finite sand stratum underlain by the rigid concrete base and the natural red-earth base showed that, the presence of a finite base of higher rigidity increases the resonant frequency significantly. With increase in H/B ratio beyond 2.0, the influence of both the rigid concrete and natural red-earth base decreases. Increase in the contact area of the footing increases the resonant frequency of the model footings resting on finite sand stratum underlain by both the types of finite bases. Both the predicted and the observed resonant frequency ratio decreases with increase in force rating and height to width ratio for a given series of model footing.

Vibration-based monitoring is one approach used to perform structural condition assessment. By measuring structural response, such as displacement, dynamic characteristics of a structure may be estimated. Often, the primary dynamic responses in civil structures are below 5 Hz, making accurate low frequency measurement critical for successful dynamic characterization. In addition, static deflection measurements are useful for structural capacity and load rating assessments. This paper presents a DC coupled continuous wave radar to accurately detect both dynamic and static displacement. This low-cost radar sensor provides displacement measurements within a compact, wireless unit appropriate for a range of structural monitoring applications. The hardware components and operating mechanism of the radar are introduced and a series of laboratory experiments are presented to assess the performance characteristics of the radar. The laboratory and field experiments investigate the effect of factors such as target distance, motion amplitude, and motion frequency on the radar's measurement accuracy. The results demonstrate that the radar is capable of both static and dynamic displacement measurements with sub-millimeter accuracy, making it a promising technology for structural health monitoring.
Concrete structures are generally cracked in flexural tension at working loads. Concrete beams with asymmetric section details and crack patterns exhibit different flexural rigidity depending upon the sense of the applied flexural moment. In this paper, three different models, having the same natural period, of such SDOF bilinear dynamical systems have been proposed. The Model-I and Model-II have constant damping coefficient, but the latter is characterized by two stiffness coefficients depending upon the sense of vibration amplitude. The Model-III, additionally, has two damping coefficients as well. In this paper, the dynamical response of Model-III to sinusoidal loading has been investigated and compared with that of Model-II studied earlier. It has been found that Model-III exhibits regular and irregular sub-harmonics, jump phenomena and strong sensitivity to initial conditions, forcing frequency, system period as well as the sense of peak sinusoidal force. The constant sustained load has been found to affect the natural period of the dynamical system. The predictions of Model-I have been compared with those of the approximate linear model adopted in present practice. The behaviour exhibited by different models of the SDOF cracked elastic concrete structures under working loads and the theoretical and practical implications of the approach followed have been critically evaluated.

An experimental study of model truss-type vertical gate consisting of a truss and a plate was presented in this paper to examine the structural dynamics of the gates. A 1:61 scale model was constructed for the 95 m prototype gate using an acrylic truss and an acrylonitrile butadiene styrene plate. The scaled model was tested in a 1.6 m wide concrete flume for two orientations to determine the effects of gate orientation on structural vibrations. Natural frequencies of the model gate was measured and calibrated with FEM predictions. Vertical vibrations were measured under various operational conditions, including a range of bottom opening heights and different upstream and downstream water levels. The gate model with reverse direction was preferred due to its low overall vibrational response and flow level combinations. The test results also provide a basic dataset for development of operations guidelines that minimize flow-induced vibrations of the gates.
