터널계측용 록볼트축력계와 지중변위계의 불량원인 파악과 검증방법에 대한 연구 (A study on the methods of identifying and verifying the causes of defects on rock bolt stressmeter and rod extensometer)

  • NATM 터널에서 계측은 필수 불가결한 요소이나 계측기의 신뢰도를 검증할 방법, 절차, 규정 등에 대한 연구가 부족함으로 인해 터널에서 계측기가 성능검증 절차 없이 설치 및 적용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내외 계측 검·교정 관련 규정을 조사하고 공인 인정기준의 필요성을 제시하였다. 또한 터널계측기 중 록볼트 축력계와 지중변위계를 대상으로 계측기의 불량원인을 외관검사로 파악하였으며 성능검사를 위해 단계별 하중 재하가 가능한 검증 장치를 개발하여 국내 9개 계측제조업체의 정밀계측기 불량원인을 파악하였다. 개별센서 위주의 성능테스트도 중요하나 완제품 상태에서 검증 절차를 통과해야 함이 필수적이므로 이에 따른 성능검사 방법과 절차를 제시하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 향후 계측기 성능검증을 위한 관련 규정 마련과 현장에서 계측기를 선정하는 데 도움이 될 것으로 판단된다.

  • 계측기 장비들을 검증하기 위해서는 원기를 보유하고 있는 인증기관에 의뢰하여 장비의 이상유무를 검증 받게 된다. 디지털 계측기 같은 고가의 장비를 보유하고 있는 기업에게 이런 검증과정은 시간과 비용을 가져온다. 본 연구에서 제안한 '계측기-스마트 네트워크 카드 모델'은 디지털 계측기에 스마트 네트워크 모듈을 탑재하는데, 이 카드는 기존의 웹 어댑터에 원격지에서 프로그램을 적재, 삭제, 실행이 가능하도록 스마트 기능을 추가하여 원격검증 및 제어가 가능하다. 제안한 모델은 다수의 프로그램이 적재 가능하여 응용가치 또한 높으며, 국내외로 판매한 고가의 디지털 계측기 하나하나를 인터넷을 이용하여 원격제어가 가능하게 하고, 원격으로 검증 조건을 교체할 수 있도록 함으로써, 장비의 질과 경쟁력을 높일 수 있다.

Research on the Making Technology of Virtual Orchestral Instrument

  • In this paper, we propose an analysis of the sound source of virtual orchestral music in detail by using the production technology of sampling and playback, and technical experiments and verification for the most advanced Hollywood Library series of timbre and the timbre production and control technology of Vienna instrument Pro and other softwares, to find their solutions and come up with the best timbre production method for orchestral music from the perspective of the specific design ideas of the productions of virtual orchestral instruments. The so-called virtual orchestral instruments are non-real orchestral instruments, which are based on the imitation of timbre of real orchestral instruments, processed and synthesized through the scientific and technological means, and produced by the use of electronic equipments or computers. The study of virtual timbre production technology is very important, and it is like the study of composers' creative techniques. Not only scientific and advanced timbre production methods can be obtained from the study, but also new ways of future timbre production are expected to be explored.

  • 윈드라이다와 윈드프로파일러는 연속적인 바람의 연직 분포를 고해상도의 자료로 산출하는 장비로써 최근 활용도가 높아지고 있다. 두 장비의 관측방식과 데이터 처리방식은 유사하지만, 기상 및 동작 설정에 따라 바람 탐지정확도의 차이가 발생할 수 있다. 두 장비의 특성과 바람 산출 방법을 소개하고 최신 장비 검증기준을 적용해 라디오존데로 관측한 바람과 비교하여 정확성을 평가한다. 이에 따라 장비도입에 따른 새로운 성능검증 방향과 추가로 필요한 보완점을 제시한다.

Writer Verification Using Spatial Domain Features under Different Ink Width Conditions

  • In this paper, we present a comparative study of spatial domain features for writer identification and verification with different ink width conditions. The existing methods give high error rates, when comparing two handwritten images with different pen types. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to design the feature with different ink width conditions. To address this problem, contour based features were extracted using a chain code method. To improve accuracy at higher levels, we considered histograms of chain code and variance in bins of histogram of chain code as features to discriminate handwriting samples. The system was trained and tested for 1,000 writers with two samples using different writing instruments. The feature performance is tested on our newly created dataset of 4,000 samples. The experimental results show that the histogram of chain code feature is good compared to other methods with false acceptance rate of 11.67%, false rejection rate of 36.70%, average error rates of 24.18%, and average verification accuracy of 75.89% on our new dataset. We also studied the effect of amount of text and dataset size on verification accuracy.

  • The steam turbine used in nuclear power plant is modeled for the purpose of verification of control system rather than the operator education. The valves, reheater and generator are modeled also and integrated into the simulator. After that, the operation data and the designed data such as heat balance diagram are utilized to identify the model parameters. It was evident that model outputs of developed simulator are very close to the measured operating ones. The simulator within dynamic model was used to verify and validate the whole control system together with field instruments. And the target plant has been operating long time.

  • The HANARO, a multi-purpose research reactor of 30 MWth open-tank-in-pool type, has been under normal operation since its initial criticality In February, 1995. Many experiments should be safely performed to activate the utilization of the HANARO. A flow simulation facility is being developed for the endurance test of reactivity control units for extended life times and the verification of structural integrity of those experimental facilities prior to loading in the HANARO. This test facility is composed of three major parts; a half-core structure assembly, flow circulation system and support system. The flow circulation system is composed of a circulation pump, a core flow pipe, a core bypass flow pipe and instruments. The system is to be filled with de-mineralized water and the flow should be met the design flow to simulate similar flow characteristics in the core channel of the half-core test facility to the HANARO. This paper, therefore, describes an analytical analysis to study the flow behavior of the system. The computational flow analysis has been performed for the verification of system pressure variation through the three-dimensional analysis program with standard k-$\epsilon$ turbulence model and for the verification of the structural piping integrity through the finite element method. The results of the analysis are satisfied the design requirements and structural piping integrity of flow circulation system.

  • Combat Development is process of studying and developing concept, doctrine, weapon systems, organization and training for the improvement of combat capability to be ready present and future warfare. The combat development domain consists of 6 fields Doctrine, Organization, Material, Training, Personnel, and Facilities. The cornerstones of combat development are "How to prepare" and "How to fight" in the future warfare. ROK- TRADOC(Republic of Korea Army Training and Doctrine Command) has implemented combat development that applies CBRS (Concept-Based Requirements System) and "Vision - Capstone concept - operating and functional concept - FOC(Future Operational Capabilities) Requirements". To prepare for the possibility or new types or wars in the future, the creation of new concept and system is essential. Though verification with various instruments, combat power can be secured and exhibited. Combat development by empirical mind estimation means that is no longer relevant.To prepare combat development based on scientific analysis, there is a need for powerful engineering analysis and verification, in order to prepare for uncertain and diverse future battlefield environments. In this thesis, warfighting experiment is essential ways and means to pursue the scientific combat development ; investigated tendency of combat development environment, and analyzed diversification aspects of possible future warfare. In conclusion, concept of campaign experiment and role is the conerstone of scientific combat development; and lays out the roadmap of all affecting components to its development.

Investigation of an Infrared Temperature Measurement System for Thermal Safety Verification of Plasma Skin Treatment Devices

  • In this paper, we developed a temperature measurement system based on an infrared temperature imaging module for thermal safety verification of a plasma skin treatment device (PSTD). We tested a pilot product of the low-temperature PSTD using the system, and the temperature increase of each plasma torch was well-monitored in real-time. Additionally, through the approximation of the temperature increase of the plasma torches, a certain limitation of the plasma treatment time on skin was established with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) guideline. We determined an appropriate plasma treatment time ($T_{Safe}$ < 24 minutes) using the configured temperature measurement system. We believe that the temperature measurement system has a potential to be employed for testing thermal safety and suitability of various medical devices and industrial instruments.
