Development of a Vegetation Buffer Strip Module for a Distributed Watershed Model CAMEL (유역모델 CAMEL 기반 식생여과대 모듈의 개발)

  • In this study, a software module to predict the effectiveness of vegetation buffer strip (VBS) has been developed for using with Chemicals, Agricultural Management and Erosion Losses (CAMEL), a distributed watershed model. Most basic functions for the VBS module are same as CAMEL except functions newly developed to implement sedimentation enhancement by vegetation and level spreaders. For verification of the VBS module, sensitivity analyses for length, roughness, soil and vegetation type of VBS were carried out using a test grid cell. The surface discharge of sediment are highly sensitive to the roughness coefficient of VBS. The removal efficiencies of VBS for the surface discharges of sediment and TP are generally high regardless of environment changes. The surface discharges of TOC and TN are highly sensitive to the length and soil of VBS. The removal efficiencies of VBS for the surface discharges of TOC and TN are generally lower than those of sediment and TP. The newly developed VBS module reasonably simulates the removal efficiencies of surface discharges that vary according to the environment changes. It is expected that this VBS module can be used for evaluating the effectiveness of VBS-based best management practices to be applied to reduce pollution discharges from various non-point sources.

A Comprehensive Method to Impute Vehicle Trajectory Data Collected in Wireless Traffic Surveillance Environments (무선통신기반 교통정보수집체계하에서의 차량주행궤적정보 결측치 보정방안)

  • Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS) enables road users to enhance efficiency of their trips in a variety of traffic conditions. As a significant part of ITS, information communication technology among vehicles and between vehicles and infrastructure has been being developed to upgrade current traffic data collection technology through location-based traffic surveillance systems. A wider and detailed range of traffic data can be acquired with ease by the technology. However, its performance level falls with environmental impediments such as large vehicles, buildings, harsh weather, which often bring about wireless communication failure. For imputation of vehicle trajectory data discontinued by the failure, several potential existing methods were reviewed and a new method to complement them was devised. AIMSUN API(Application Programming Interface) software was utilized to simulate vehicle trajectories data and missing vehicle trajectories data was randomly generated for the verification of the method. The method was proven to yield more accurate and reliable traffic data than the existing ones.

  • In this paper, we propose a new illumination-robust drowsy driver monitoring system with single CCD(Charge Coupled Device) camera for intelligent vehicle in the day and night. For this system that is monitoring driver's eyes during a driving, the eye detection and the measure of eyelid movement are the important preprocesses. Therefore, we propose efficient illumination compensation algorithm to improve the performance of eye detection and also eyelid movement measuring method for efficient drowsy detection in various illumination. For real-time application, Cascaded SVM (Cascaded Support Vector Machine) is applied as an efficient eye verification method in this system. Furthermore, in order to estimate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we collect video data about drivers under various illuminations in the day and night. Finally, we acquired average eye detection rate of over 98% about these own data, and PERCLOS(The percentage of eye-closed time during a period) are represented as drowsy detection results of the proposed system for the collected video data.

  • This study was conducted to develop an application software, SIDAS3D(Stand Inventory Data Analysis System for 3 Dimensional Representation), of which the purpose of development is to make it easier to analyze and display the 3D spatial structure of a forest stand, based on the data such as tree position, species, DBH, height, clear length of individual trees, and crown width. This program has a statistical analysis function for stand attributes per hectare and displays simple graphs of stand statistics such as the distribution of diameters, heights, and volumes. It also has two additional functions, of which one is to display the 3D image of stand structure and the other is to display the image of crown projection. In addition, this program provides an imaginary treatment simulation function, which can visually confirm the suitability of silvicultural treatments on computers. To test the precision and reliability of SIDAS3D, data obtained by the precision forest inventory method were used. Statistical analysis ability of SIDAS3D was compared with that of SAS. And its representational ability was compared with that of TreeDraw. According to the verification, SIDAS3D was superior to SAS and TreeDraw in both the data processing time and the interpretative ability of results. It was concluded that SIDAS3D could be used to help users efficiently make decisions for appropriate silvicultural treatments and rational management plans because it has analysis functions providing various valuable information.

A Study on the Securing Technological Safety of Mobile Electronic Notification Service in Public and Administrative Agencies (공공·행정기관 모바일전자고지서비스의 기술적인 안전성 확보 방안에 대한 연구)

  • The mobile electronic notification service delivers notifications through mobile phone text or app-based message push to solve various problems of the paper-based mail service. And it is a service that an electronic document relay company proves to prove delivery. In order for public and administrative agencies to provide mobile electronic notification service, the user's identification information of the mobile phone number or the subscribed app is required. To overcome these limitations, ICT-regulated sandbox system was used to allow collective conversion of users' resident registration numbers into connecting information (CI). Therefore, in this paper, we propose a technical method for safe management of user CI in mobile electronic notice service, identity verification of electronic notice readers, and prevention of forgery and forgery of electronic notices. Through the proposed method, it is confirmed that the service can be activated by minimizing the adverse function of the mobile electronic notification service by securing the user's convenience and technical safety for the CI.

Prediction of Performance Characteristics with Various Location of Waste Heat Recovery Heat Pump in a Gwang-gyo Cogeneration Plant (냉각수 활용 히트펌프 설치 위치에 따른 광교 열병합발전소의 성능 특성 예측)

  • Recently, it is considered that environment and energy are critical issues all over the world. In power generation sector in Korea, almost power stations are constructed and operated as cogeneration plants in conformity with this trend. KDHC(Korea District Heating Corporation) goes one step further adopting renewable energy technology like heat pump using wasted heat for energy-saving and environment improvement. This study investigates the performance characteristics by the location of waste heat recovery heat pumps of 5 Gcal/h capacity in 150 MW-class Gwang-gyo cogeneration plant using commercial software 'THERMOFLEX'. Prior to analysis, the simulations are performed with actual operation data, and then the validation of simulations is verified by checking the error within 2%. After verification, the simulations are carried out with 3 locations and the effect on electrical power output and heat output is analyzed. As a result, overall efficiency of cogeneration plant is the highest in the case of heat pump located before DH(District Heating) Heater because of the largest increase of heat output despite of decrease of electrical power output.

Precise Orbital and Geodetic Parameter Estimation using SLR Observations for ILRS AAC

  • In this study, we present results of precise orbital geodetic parameter estimation using satellite laser ranging (SLR) observations for the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS) associate analysis center (AAC). Using normal point observations of LAGEOS-1, LAGEOS-2, ETALON-1, and ETALON-2 in SLR consolidated laser ranging data format, the NASA/GSFC GEODYN II and SOLVE software programs were utilized for precise orbit determination (POD) and finding solutions of a terrestrial reference frame (TRF) and Earth orientation parameters (EOPs). For POD, a weekly-based orbit determination strategy was employed to process SLR observations taken from 20 weeks in 2013. For solutions of TRF and EOPs, loosely constrained scheme was used to integrate POD results of four geodetic SLR satellites. The coordinates of 11 ILRS core sites were determined and daily polar motion and polar motion rates were estimated. The root mean square (RMS) value of post-fit residuals was used for orbit quality assessment, and both the stability of TRF and the precision of EOPs by external comparison were analyzed for verification of our solutions. Results of post-fit residuals show that the RMS of the orbits of LAGEOS-1 and LAGEOS-2 are 1.20 and 1.12 cm, and those of ETALON-1 and ETALON-2 are 1.02 and 1.11 cm, respectively. The stability analysis of TRF shows that the mean value of 3D stability of the coordinates of 11 ILRS core sites is 7.0 mm. An external comparison, with respect to International Earth rotation and Reference systems Service (IERS) 08 C04 results, shows that standard deviations of polar motion $X_P$ and $Y_P$ are 0.754 milliarcseconds (mas) and 0.576 mas, respectively. Our results of precise orbital and geodetic parameter estimation are reasonable and help advance research at ILRS AAC.

Scenario-Driven Verification Method for Completeness and Consistency Checking of UML Object-Oriented Analysis Model (UML 객체지향 분석모델의 완전성 및 일관성 진단을 위한 시나리오기반 검증기법)

  • 본 논문에서 제안하는 시나리오기반 검증기법의 목적은 UML로 작성된 객체지향 분석모델의 완전성 및 일관성을 진단하는 것이다. 검증기법의 전체 절차는 요구분석을 위한 Use Case 모델링 과정에서 생성되는 Use Case 시나리오와 UML 분석모델로부터 역공학적 방법으로 도출된 객체행위 시나리오와의 상호참조과정 및 시나리오 정보트리 추적과정을 이용하여 단계적으로 수행된다. 본 검증절차를 위하여 우선, UML로 작성된 객체지향 분석모델들은 우선 정형명세언어를 사용하여 Use Case 정형명세로 변환하다. 그 다음에, Use Case 정형명세로부터 해당 Use Case 내의 객체의 정적구조를 표현하는 시나리오 정보트리를 구축하고, Use Case 정형명세 내에 포함되어 있는 객체 동적행위 정보인 메시지 순차에 따라 개별 시나리오흐름을 시나리오 정보트리에 표현한다. 마지막으로 시나리오 정보트리 추적과 시나리오 정보 테이블 참조과정을 중심으로 완전성 및 일관성 검증작업을 수행한다. 즉, 검증하고자 하는 해당 Use Case의 시나리오 정보트리를 이용한 시나리오 추적과정을 통해 생성되는 객체행위 시나리오와 요구분석 과정에서 도출되는 Use Case 시나리오와의 일치여부를 조사하여 분석모델과 사용자 요구사양과의 완전성을 검사한다. 그리고, 시나리오 추적과정을 통해 수집되는 시나리오 관련종보들을 가지고 시나리오 정보 테이블을 작성한 후, 분석과정에서 작성된 클래스 관련정보들의 시나리오 포함 여부를 확인하여 분석모델의 일관성을 검사한다. 한편, 본 논문에서 제안하는 검증기법의 효용성을 증명하기 위해 대학의 수강등록시스템 개발을 위해 UML을 이용해 작성된 분석모델을 특정한 사례로써 적용하여 보았다. 프로세싱 오버헤드 및 메모리와 대역폭 요구량 측면에서 MARS 모델보다 유리함을 알 수 있었다.과는 본 논문에서 제안된 프리페칭 기법이 효율적으로 peak bandwidth를 줄일 수 있다는 것을 나타낸다.ore complicate such a prediction.   • In this study, we developed a simulation model for supply chain management of Precast Concrete (PC) based construction. To this end, information on the Factory Production/Site Construction system was collected through literature review and field research, and based on this information, a simulation model was defined by describing the supply chain, entities, resources, and processes. Next, using the Arena simulation software, a simulation model for the PC supply chain was developed by setting model frameworks, data modules, flowchart modules, and animation modules. Finally, verification and validation were performed using five review methodologies such as model check, animation check, extreme value test, average value test, and actual case test to the developed model. As a result, it was found that the model adequately represented the flows and characteristics of the PC supply chain without any logical errors and provided accurate performance evaluation values for the target supply chains. It is expected that the proposed simulation model will faithfully play a role as a performance evaluation platform in the future for developing management techniques in order to optimally operate the PC supply chain.

Study of In-Memory based Hybrid Big Data Processing Scheme for Improve the Big Data Processing Rate (빅데이터 처리율 향상을 위한 인-메모리 기반 하이브리드 빅데이터 처리 기법 연구)

  • With the advancement of IT technology, the amount of data generated has been growing exponentially every year. As an alternative to this, research on distributed systems and in-memory based big data processing schemes has been actively underway. The processing power of traditional big data processing schemes enables big data to be processed as fast as the number of nodes and memory capacity increases. However, the increase in the number of nodes inevitably raises the frequency of failures in a big data infrastructure environment, and infrastructure management points and infrastructure operating costs also increase accordingly. In addition, the increase in memory capacity raises infrastructure costs for a node configuration. Therefore, this paper proposes an in-memory-based hybrid big data processing scheme for improve the big data processing rate. The proposed scheme reduces the number of nodes compared to traditional big data processing schemes based on distributed systems by adding a combiner step to a distributed system processing scheme and applying an in-memory based processing technology at that step. It decreases the big data processing time by approximately 22%. In the future, realistic performance evaluation in a big data infrastructure environment consisting of more nodes will be required for practical verification of the proposed scheme.
