A Cartesian Space Adaptive Control Scheme for Robot Manipulators (로봇 매니퓰레이터의 직교공간 적응제어 방식)

  • This paper presents a cartesian space decentralized adaptive controller design for the end effector of the robot manipulator to track the given desired trajectory in the cartesian coordinate. By the cartesian based control scheme, the task related high level motion command is directly executed without solving the complex inverse kinematic equations. The controller does not require the complex manipulator dynamic model, and hence it is computationally very efficient. Each degree of freedom of the end effector on the cartesian space is controlled by a PID feedback controller and a velocity acceleration feed forward conpensation part. Simulation results for a two-link direct drive manipulator conform that the present cartesian based decentralized scheme is feasible.

  • Being controlled by a pole placement, levitation system should need many sensors that measure air-gap, velocity, acceleration, and so on. However, these sensors have observational errors by changed temperature. This paper proposed a output compensated command tracking controller for reducing the error and reducing sensors. Simulation results will be provided to show the validity of the proposed scheme.

  • In this paper, we propose the intelligent robot control technique for mobile robot using personal digital assistants (PDA). With the proposed technique, the mobile rebot can trace human at regular intervals by the remote control method with PDA. The mobile robot can recognize the distances between it and human whom the robot must follow with both multi-ultrasonic sensors and PC-camera and then, can inference the direction and velocity of itself to keep the given regular distances. In the first place, the mobile robot acquires the information about circumstances using ultrasonic sensor and PC-camera then secondly, transmits the data to PDA using wireless LAN communication. Finally, PDA recognizes the status of circumstances using the fuzzy logic and neural network and gives the command to mobile robot again.

  • The loads exerted on electro-hydraulic servo system are classified into inertial, viscous, and spring load. The additional load called disturbances is also exerted on system but is generally not modeled. To deal with these kinds of loads, it is necessary to maintain the continuous signal transfer, so we can construct compensator to satisfy control specifications using feedback signal such as displacement, velocity, acceleration and pressure known as state variables. In case of controlling the speed of hydraulic motor, we must keep up robust performance for the various loads and disturbances acted on the system. However, the load flow rate in the valve is characterized by nonlinearity so that traditional theory of linear control could not be expected to give the desired performance. In this paper, it is shown that speed controller of hydraulic motor gives a good command following and disturbance rejection performance by applying sliding mode theory as a way of robust control to the nonlinearity, variation of loads and disturbances.

  • In this paper, we propose the self-autonomous algorithm for mobile robot system. The proposed mobile robot system which is teamed by learning with the neural networks can trace the target at the same distances. The mobile robot can evaluate the distance between robot and target with ultrasonic sensors. By teaming the setup distance, current distance and command velocity, the robot can do intelligent self-autonomous drive. We use the neural network and back-propagation algorithm as a tool of learning. As a result, we confirm the ability of tracing the target with proposed mobile robot.

  • In this paper, a real-time collision avoidance algorithm is proposed for experimental Autonomous Vehicle(XAV). To ensure real-time implementation, a virtual potential field is calculated in one dimensional space. The attractive force is generated by the steering command either transmitted in the remote control station or calculated in the Autonomous Navigation System(ANS) of the XAV. The repulsive force is generated by obstacle information obtained from Laser Range Finder(LRF) mounted on the XAV. Using these attractive and repulsive forces, modified steering, velocity and emergency stop commands are created to avoid obstacles and follow a planned path. The suggested algorithm is inserted as one component in the XAV system. Through various real experiments and technical demonstration using the XAV, the usefulness and practicality of the proposed algorithm are verified.

  • This paper presents on the evaluation of thermal comfort in office on offshore. In living quarter of offshore, strict air conditioning performance is required to office on offshore and displacement ventilation is applied to office space which rooms are required to confirm the thermal environment. The computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is performed to calculate the temperature, air velocity in office and thermal comfort such as PPM & PPD is evaluated by the CFD result.

  • This paper deals with a control technique of eliminating the transient vibration of a waist axis of an articulated robot. This technique is based on a model-based control in order to establish the damping effect on the mechanical part. The control model is composed of reduced-order electrical and mechanical parts. This model estimates a load speed converted to the motor shaft. The difference between the estimated load speed and the motor speed is calculated dynamically and is added to the velocity command to suppress the transient vibration of a waist axis of the arm.   • A new 6-axis robot controller with a high-speed 32-bit floating-point DSP TMS32OC30 has been developed in Samsung Electronics. The controller composed of Intel 80386 microprocessor for the main controller, and TKS32OC30 DSP chip for joint position controller. The characteristics of the controller are high sampling rate of 200us and fast reponsibility. The main controller supports MS-DOS, kinematics, trajectory planning, and sensor fusion functions which are vision, PLC, and MAP. The one high speed DSP chip is used for controlling 6 axes of a robot in 200us simultaneously. The control law applied is PID controller including a velocity feedforvard in joint position controller. The performance tests, such as command following, CP, were conducted for the controller integrated with a 6 axes robot developed in Samsung Electronics. The results showed a good performance. This controller can also perform the system control with other controllers, the communication with high priority controllers, and visual information processing.

  • Linear motor is able to produce line movement without rotary-to-line converter at the system required line moving. Thus Linear motor has no gear, screw, belt for line movement. Therefore it has some advantage which decrease friction loss, noise, vibration, maintenance effort and prevent decay of control performance due to backlash. This paper proposes the estimation method of unknown parameters from the BLDC Linear motor and determine the PI controller gain through this estimation. Each control movement that is current, speed, position control, and PWM wave generation is performed on Processor, which is DSP(Digital Signal Processor), having high speed performance. PI theory is adopted to each for controller for control behavior More fast convergence to command position is accomplished by applying the new velocity locus which derived from position error.
